Scared of being the Bengals? 100%.
After what we've been through for years and years I could hardly blame you.
I'll tell you I 100% believe those days are over and this team is being managed the best it has ever been.
You obviously aren't there yet, but just remember...it's ok to feel optimistic about the direction we are taking and its ok to have a little faith in the guys running the team
It will make this off-season a whole lot more fun.
Better to have faith/optimisim and then be disappointed than to never have it at all.

Just admit it.... you're skeered.

Well, if Slater turns into a good LT or Fields turns into a good QB while we struggle at LT or QB, it could look like a questionable decision.
I don't see a reason to jump on the "WE ARE OBVIOUSLY GENIUSES" train without the acknowledgement that we could end up regretting that 8th pick(or some of the moves after it).
We never know the full story until long after the draft.
The biggest problem and the thing that will hold someone back is thinking there is only one path and feeling that a veering off that path could possibly result in failure so it should be avoided.
Come in with an open mind and realize that regrets and mistakes are always a possibility and you live with it. They picked the best players on their board and a mistake would have been fixated on QB or LT regardless of talent skipped over on the board.
And CB is absolutely crucial when facing elite receiving competition...regardless of the perceived value by some in the "modern" nfl.

I've seen several draft graders give us a B for the draft overall and it makes me wonder how much of it is grading us harshly for passing on Fields, despite the great moves we made rounds 2-7
I think it absolutely does have to do with a myopic view that many of these pundits/draft hacks have on the team and what they decided we should do.
If they are incapable of stepping back and seeing the big picture, then they are going to grade us poorly.
Basically it's small minded people who are going to look at the fact we didn't draft a QB or an OT in the first couple rounds and see it as a fail.

Morgan all the way.

I'll be fine with Morgan coming in. I hope he gets the job. Glad we're trying to get him.
And we'll be ok without Luke here.

In addition to the better supporting cast here (offense and coaching), our much improved defense will help immensely. Its nice for a QB to know he doesn't have to be perfect to win games. Takes a little pressure off.
2021 Darnold Stats
Completion %: 60%
Yards: 4,000
TDs: 30
INTs: 12
Rushing Yards: 300
Rushing TDs: 4
Wins: 9
totally agree about the D helping him out. Having consistently good field position and the opponent's score being kept in check will definitely help take pressure off him and the passing game.

Well Damn, I was erring on the side of caution because he was so bad last season. He took a GIANT step back last year.
If he's not broken, there's no reason he couldn't go 3500 yards, 25 TDs and under 10 INTs next year in a system with a ton of support.
totally agreed. that should be about his floor...well...i'd bump the INTs up a little more. he's got a bit of gunslinger in him. but i'm ok with that as long as we are winning and he's around a 2:1 TD INT ratio.

Seems with the board upgrade editing is now limited. You can for a minute or so right after you post but then it's non-editable.

I believe totally that christiansen can be the guy, but I've never been a fan of throwing a rookie OL out there without much experience. Rookie OL wear roller skates and they are going to get outsmarted by vet DL across from them. Pick up Leno and use him as a buffer until....

Appreciate the help Tayzor
All jokes aside how the heck do you edit posts now. Is there no way to do so,
I swear my phone goes retarded Everytime I try and type daviyon lol.
I don't know what it looks like for non-mods, but there should be a '...' in the top right of your post. If there is there will be a drop down menu that has it. If it's not there I've got no idea.

I think it will be closer to his college level of production because coaching and overall situation will be better.
Just going throw this at the wall....
275 completions
3500 yards
30-35 TDs (rushing included)
<15 INTs

Would be nice to have morgan back around.
And there were too many small dick assshats trying to go toe to toe with him here back then.
I've often been tempted to go back and look at who it was that was doing it.

Just quit going for 3 and 1pt kicks.
Problem solved.
