Draft Rundown (Picks and Trades)

I hope we can get a big name here. What I'm worried about though is Chicago amnestying Boozers massive contract and Melo taking slightly less to play in a big city.

From what I've heard about Chicago'a owner there's no way he amnestying him. Lots of people saying he's too tight to let someone off the hook by that much and still having to pay them. Idk tho honestly. I either see him going to Houston Chicago or us. And I truly think he might choose us if it wasn't for lala

But I heard this on 610 the fan the other morning. On the Mac attack. So take it with a grain of salt. Obviously these callers want attention and are crazy.

A guy called in saying he used to be in a sporting agents type place of work. Basically he worked with agents and was on the inside. Said he still has a buddy inside and said that melo was opting out to come to charlotte. Said he wanted to stay true to Jordan and Jordan brand and make charlotte a contender.

It wasn't those exact words but along those lines. At first I was just like yeah ok. But It makes sense. Accompanied with the fact that we give melo and good shot of competing deep on the playoffs with the talent already in place. I think he could flourish here. But like I said take that with a grain of salt.

Simmons said the same thing.

My concern isnt whether Melo would want to play here, it's more that his wife won't want him to play herd. She's a celebrity in her own right and has already said she wants to be in a big market.

That's fine... i'll happily settle for LeBron.

I'd like to give that rumor some credence, but the problem is, I thought the same thing when CP3 was on the block and it was rumored we were incredibly close to landing him but he rejected the deal because he wanted to go to L.A. instead. Thd Jordan connection didn't help then... it was also rumored that we were close on trading for Melo back when he was traded to the Knicks, and supposedly he also balked at the opportunity.

Now, are those rumors true? Who knows??? But, both of them made md lose hope that Jordan's cache would ever make a difference in recruiting stars... but, after last season, these picks tonight, and the new (old) name/identity/colors, I have a completely renewed hope in bringing in one of those superstar guys.

    • Bruh there’s like 10 Bryce Young sucks threads if we want to get into how many threads each side has to discuss in. That said, watching the game, Bryce Young looked bad.
    • If we just want to look at the simplest of passes, those thrown five air yards or less, Young completed just 56% of attempts (#29) with a 13% success rate (#29), -0.54 EPA per attempt, and a mere 2.8 yards per attempt (#27). Bryce isn't "fine" at any aspect of NFL QBing.
    • Same thing I was thinking as I was reading it.  It’s a completely one-sided argument, and is in actuality, full of emotion - and that emotion is, “Bryce is good.  I promise.”  Blaming Hunter for not coming down with those two horribly placed throws is downright insulting.  He had to make a superhuman effort to even get his hands on them because they were so poorly placed…  and this PFF coverage completely disregards objectivity for subjectivity in his favor, because on the opposite end of this spectrum, it should be acknowledged that had those balls been better placed, Renfrow has 2 easy TDs.  Instead, this is framed like it’s Renfrow’s poor play is the result he dropped a couple of highly contested, damn near uncatchable thrown balls (even if he was wide open) for lesser yardage than what they would have been if they were thrown better.  This reeks of bias.  I am convinced Tepper or someone in Bryce’s camp is paying for this biased, pro-Bryce campaign from PFF.  PFF were the ones pushing
