We don't have a QB

I have read thread after thread about what Jake has done and what appears to be clear he can't do anymore. He makes high throw after high throw, his accuracy leaves everything to be desired, he has zero pocket presence. I remember a time when it wasn't true. I miss that time and I miss that Jake.

I can't remember the last time he used the "pump fake" to move a safety, not sure he even sees the safeties anymore. Sunday he had all day in the pocket, more often than not, and still got sacked. When he wasn't busy throwing passes to the Bills safety. I feel the game has beaten him, or at the very least beat him down. I'm not sure.

I think Fox knows this too, he just has no viable option at this point, due to the inability within the coaching staff to groom or maintain a NFL quarterback. Jake has digressed at the quarterback position.

Fox sees the other QB's in practice during the week, due to the past game performances it must not be pretty, or otherwise we would have a different quarterback under center.

That’s why I say “We don’t have a quarterback”

We are damned if we do damned if we don't.

Our true backup is gone for the year so we have to rely on a third stringer...

I too would rather have garcia even if this isn't the offense he is use too. He could do short passes and control the game while we hand off with our backs. Moore or Feely might be able to do that but with no real reputation our backs will continue to have to work their asses off for every yard. Without the deep threat it will be a long long season indeed.

Fox's perfect game plan :gnorsi:

    • It’ll be interesting to see how the board falls I completely agree with you on TE for us The safety from Oregon would be the cherry on top for Evero’s defense/scheme.  If a OL’men is there that you love it would be very hard to pass up. This fan base seems to just see Walker as a stop gap but I wouldn’t be so sure. He’s the same age as Ekwonu. He’s had a much more impressive career arc/progression than Icky has. He’s the better pass protector. As far as I see it if Walker has a good year I’d bring him back over Icky. Ekwonu isn’t some elite franchise LT. Playing next to Lewis is going to be great for Walker much like it has been for Icky. We definitely need to get younger/cheaper on the OL though so for this reason alone it’s still top of my list come round 1 if board falls this way  Could also use another corner with Mike Jackson’s deal up after this season and needing a nickel but Corey Thornton looked really good in that role in the limited time we got to see him. However he’s coming off an achillies injury and you never know with those.  Then as mentioned above we do still have a need at WR. As far as “weapons” go it’s kind of a 2 man show with Tmac and Coker and neither is a burner. If Jordan Tyson is there at 19 and we can have a young WR group locked up for cheap that’s a huge advantage cap wise  And don’t forget linebacker. That clip in Devin’s Lloyd blueprint they used from Evero saying they need more intelligence there could’ve been left out for Wallace’s sake but it’s true. Wallace is lost in coverage. Pair a smart linebacker with Lloyd and that’s a group with Wallace and Cherelus being depth
    • The fact that this is even a discussion is a testament of the level of front office badassery that's going on.
    • Not always. LT was for the Giants. So was Ray Lewis. Von Miller was moreso than Manning his final year in the season that shall not be named. It's usually the QB, but not always.
