Hurney shouldn't be fired for two main reasons

Just because guys are starting and not on the sidelines doesn't mean they are great draft picks. Did you ever think most of those guys are out there by default?

Five or six of those guys have been pro bowlers or could argue for a spot in the Pro Bowl. Almost all of them are legitimate starters. The rookies I listed showed a lot of promise.

Neener, neener, no you'd be wrong. Back and forth.

No player, minus Peyton Manning in his prime is worth $17 million dollars for one year. Especially a sometimes motivated Defensive End.

I can't explain it to you any more simply.

FT Gross at 7.45 million yes.

FT Peppers at 17 million no.

I'm done.

At least two FOs in the NFL disagree with you. Probably more, if they were asked.

You've been done for some time now. Glad you're finally realizing it. :)

The endless list of bad draft choices?

Oh come on, really?

However, you do raise a good point. The Panthers were drafting poorly after the first round for a while, and Hurney replaced Tony Softli with Don Gregory. That's his job as the GM. The scouting guy sucked, so he replaced him with someone better. And our drafts improved markedly.

<snip>

Now to 2.), tell me how we used our cap this past offseason since...like Cyberjag stated... And with that freedom, what did we do? After paying a guy over 10 mil to NOT be on the team, (Only hurt JR, remember ) what did we do? JR recouped much of that money back by cutting vets and etc.

Do you seriously think that's why JR purged the roster of veterans?

And there was no cap this off-season, so that's irrelevant. We could have re-signed Peppers for 40 million had JR wanted to. He didn't, and we didn't.

The contract Jake got doesn't come into play. The only thing it did to the team was give them the flexibility to sign some veteran help at the NT position.

For what it's worth, I think that the writing on the wall you described earlier was a huge part of why we were so bad this season. Everyone and their brother knew that Fox wasn't coming back, and that makes it tough to be emotionally invested. I really expect immediate improvement next year, even if we have most of the same people back.

Riiiiiiiiiiight.

The Carolina Panrthers in the last five years have one Playoff appearance and zero Playoff wins.

But Marty Hurney is tne bestest GM ever.

Yes, I'm done.

    • I find it funny those who continue to hate on Bryce based on his rookie year when he had zero weapons or offensive line have a problem with those of us projecting his career from the 8-9 games where he played like a top 10 QB and made more big time throws during that period than any other QB.  The stats may bot have been there in terms of yards or TD passes but that’s coming as the roster improves. For those who think physical traits can overcome roster deficiencies we all witnessed how Mahomes looked under pressure that Bryce faced for most of his rookie year, we saw what happened with Stroud in similar circumstances.  None of us were creating posts proclaiming Bryce as the next Brady but we can’t just sit idly while thread after thread is created continuing with the  anti Bryce tropes  instead of supporting him and just letting him continue to develop.
    • To me Bryce's ceiling is his backup, Andy Dalton, in his prime.  Sure, he may get us some winning seasons and may even get us to the playoffs on occasion, but with an early exit.  To me he doesn't have what it takes to be elite and it takes an elite QB to consistently get deep into the playoffs.  He's not Jackson, he's not Mahomes and he's not even Allen.  In an organization like Philly, he possibly could have what it takes to make a deep run, but let's face it...Philly is well oiled machine and and we are a GMC Grimlin.
    • If he was he would still be in the league.... Cam never learned to play QB without relying on his athletism and rocket arm.
