I was 9 and all about Crash Bandicoot, NBA In the Zone and Andretti Racing on my new PlayStation. I remember coming into the living room and watching part of the Divisional Playoff with my dad, but I'm fairly certain I was at Toys-R-Us during the NFCCG.
Binns was on KC's practice squad last season. Had a knee injury in '13. But he also had a hell of a college career when he wasn't in trouble. For what it's worth it seems he's past that now. Rogers' issues with breaking the law render him unlikely, yes. But if it were me, I'd kick the tires. He's got some talent. There is absolutely no harm in bringing a guy in for a workout and getting a better look at him.
Da'Rick Rogers and/or Armon Binns could be had for a low price. Both would be upgrades over Brown and most of our current WR lineup. So would Ace Sanders, but he's got a bad rep right now. Really, Binns and Rogers are better than all of our active WR, save for MAYBE Funchess or Cotchery. Funchess is a complete unknown. Randy would be an awesome signing were it not for the number of drops he had in his last few years. That'd just send a bad message, I suppose – but I'd still like to see the guy get a workout.
I'm trying not to be like "oh poo the sky is falling" and all, but looking at our WR roster, if we don't make an attempt at bringing in someone who could be better, there's no defending it. There simply is not enough talent at that position to compete at a level consummate with the rest of this roster.
I was thrilled when we got Cam and said he would be a superstar for us. I was also stoked for Kuechly. And Clausen. I had no faith in Gettleman after his cutting Smith. As far as mistakes go, that's the big one from here.
