  1. SI.com's Chris Benoit explains our CB situation

They already gave his number to Zack Sanchez. If that's not a sign that he's not coming back, I don't know what is. He may play another season, but it won't be with the Panthers.
  2. Trading up with the Titans

Trading up would likely mean only having three contributors from this draft class (1st, 2nd, 4th) as it would require us to send our 2nd, 3rd, and 5th most likely as discussed. I don't think DG touches future draft picks and I'm not counting on getting anything more than a warm body with our 7th. That said, if there's a guy available that Getts has a first round grade on within reasonable range, go get him. The window is firmly open for (prudent) win now moves.
  3. There are some smart guys out there! 30. CAROLINA PANTHERS Vernon Butler, DT, Louisiana Tech GRADE: A Losing Josh Norman means that the Panthers will need to reinforce their defense in other ways, because there wasn't an equivalent talent to Norman on the board at 30. Butler may have received small-school dings from some, but his tape screams NFL starter. He's 6' 4" and 323 pounds with great length, and he combines the speed and strength to take up any gap. He can also hold his own in coverage, and he'll command double teams on most every play. http://www.si.com/nfl/2016/04/28/nfl-draft-grades-first-round-picks-results
  4. REPORT: Panthers interested in moving UP in 1st round

Do you think if Coleman is still available around pick 25-27, that the Panthers would try to trade up and get their guy? Or are they content to stand pat and let the chips fall where they may?
  5. lol wat? Tirico has been at ESPN for 25 years, joined when he was 24, does Monday Night Football, NBA, Tennis, radio, etc. He is a huge, huge loss for them.
  6. New team enters the fray to sign Josh Norman

lol I hope the Saints push more dead money down the line by restructuring Brees' $30m salary this year to fit a $15m salary in for Norman. Literally the worst team in the league at managing the cap. Do they ever learn?
  7. Josh Norman hiring new agent to be lead on his new deal

I wonder if this constitutes a true agent change because according to the rules, Josh would need to wait 5 business days for the agent change to formalize and be able to negotiate a deal with teams. However, 5 business days ends up going to the day of the draft...not ideal. Might be why his current agent is staying on as a co-rep as that may circumvent the 5-day waiting period?
  8. I Don't Get The Celebration Here...

Meh. I'm a fan of the Carolina Panthers, not any one player. I know Gettleman has forgotton more about football today than I can pretend to know my whole life. If he thinks this was in the team's best interest, who am I to disagree? Like the decision or not, fact of the matter is we've gone 34-13-1 over the past 3 years with 3 straight division titles - we've never had that kind of sustained success before Gettleman came on board. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.
  9. Josh Norman hiring new agent to be lead on his new deal

lol no he's not. Not ruling out a comeback, but he's not signing a $7m per deal; plenty of other teams will offer him at least the $12m per the Panthers were offering.
  10. Josh Norman hiring new agent to be lead on his new deal

On Twitter, can't access at work. It's on Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo's feeds though.
  11. Per Ian Rapoport, he's hiring Ryan Williams of Athletes First to take the lead on the deal; current agent will "co-rep."
  12. Blockbuster Trade in the Works

    Looks fake as hell.
  13. Weddle To Make Decision This Weekend

Why was Arian Foster undrafted? Why was Chris Harris Jr. undrafted? Why was Victor Cruz undrafted? Why was Tony Romo undrafted? Just because the kid wasn't drafted doesn't mean he's not a player.
  14. Official NFL Free Agency Thread

Sounds like it's $40m fully gtd, $52.5m over first 3 years for Vernon (likely to see all of that unless he's a colossal bust in years 1 and 2)
  15. Official NFL Free Agency Thread

    $52.5m gtd, not $40m. Jeeeezuuussss.
