Cambridge Analytica - Recorded Offering to Bribe or Entrap Politicians

Recommended Posts

UK's Channel 4 published video of CA's CEO bragging about techniques they've used in the past to sway, bribe, or entrap politicians in over 200 elections world-wide.

https://www.channel4.com/news/cambridge-analytica-revealed-trumps-election-consultants-filmed-saying-they-use-bribes-and-sex-workers-to-entrap-politicians-investigation

According to the CEO, who attended the meeting in person, these techniques include:

  • Bribing candidates and secretly recording them accepting the bribe
  • Spreading Fake News
  • Sending Ukrainian girls to the candidate's house and catching them in a honey pot

https://www.nytimes.com/2018/03/19/us/cambridge-analytica-alexander-nix.html

Now the UK is fast-tracking through a warrant to seize their servers. Clearly they're taking this story seriously.

And the best part is, Part 2 of the video will be released tomorrow, in which they detail the effects they've had in US elections.

If you're a conservative, however, you will of course point out that CA has strongly denied these allegations, and followed that up by saying they were just saying hypothetical entrapment techniques they could use, but have totally never used, although they said they've used them in multiple meetings with the same undercover reporter, just to try to tease the fixer they were meeting with to admit they had criminal intentions. At which point, surely, the CA folks would have promptly buttoned up their coats and left in a huff, saying, "Can you believe the nerve of that guy? He thought we'd actually use underhanded techniques to sway an election for money. Harumph!!!"

Only watched a clip that I saw on twitter so far. What's the difference between this and the vids O'Keefe makes?

Facebook lawyers just got kicked out of Cambridge’s HQ by ICO.  Wonder why the Facebook team had to rush over there.  I guess to get stories straight.

what could be one of the greatest results of the Mueller probe could also possibly be the destruction of Facebook and certain social media platforms as we know them today.  Or at least they become heavily regulated and changed.

Social media overall....is the devil.  For whatever positives it brings ( and there are) there are at least 2 negatives to counter each positive example

Possibly these aren't as heavily edited.

how about the fact people are literally shitting their pants as a result of the story coming out.....and of course the fact it was done by an actual news organization.

Oh and the fact they didn’t hype up a yuge story and then release a joke dud video....they are just hitting Cambridge with bombs from legit investigative reporting and letting it do the talking

O'keefe finds interns and underlings and edits their words. These are the senior executives talking with no mid-sentence jump cuts. It's legit.

You would hope an investigative team presents them honestly.

O Keefe heavily edited to paint dishonest narratives.  He has been found doing so multiple times.

even mentioning o'keefe does this a disservice. this is actual investigative journalism over a year in the making.

Part of why so many right wing Trumpers are misinformed is they get their “news” from retards on blogs, Facebook and entertainment shows.  O’Keefe isn’t a journalist.  Conversation ends there.  He is just a schmuck willing to make up, edit and stage nonsense for political purposes.
