Just shows how special Davis is to this team. By the way Vermeil coached for 3 pro teams and by his third year led everyone to the playoffs. He won the Super Bowl in St Louis and got the nod twice for coach of the year.

We could be so lucky........................

I was thinkin the same thing

Rams were talented, but sucked Vermiel's 2 years and he caught so much crap...and year 3 was history

Vermiel is actually one of my fav coaches

He is one of mine as well. I have seen few coaches who care about the players any more than he does.

Look it's only fair to admit this: But I can truly, honestly say that I do not believe that the Panthers have quit on Rivera. There isn't any evidence to suggest it.

Vermeil was a very good coach and players loved playing for him....

I wish we had a Dick Vermeil

Evidence to suggest they don't buy into what we do though....

But you can still play hard for pride and your future even is you don't have full confidence in the coaches

I have no problem with Ron showing his true emotions. And like others, I think we would be very fortunate to get a coach as good as Vermeil.

Never said Rivera was a bad man, just a subpar head coach.

it's clear you have no idea what it takes to play this game or to be a part of a team.

I think the man got emotional because of Davis's passion and it probably reminded him of his golden days as a linebacker. This has changed my view of Rivera and his level of 'care' for the game. Hope he continues to develop as a coach and maybe by the end of this season, see a new and improved Rivera?
