How many 5'9" WRs put up the stats Smith has? I think he deserves to be in the Hall of Fame. He was the last triple crown winner back in 2005 I think.

Unfortunately no, If he didn't have the rough couple years with Jimmy, Matt Moore, St. Pierre etc. he MAYBE gets in.

I think Canton would find that in this day in age, a great wide receiver playing for the same small market team his entire career has to look noble and honorable to some. I hope he gets a ring, but if he can pull off 3 more 1000 yard seasons, he'll get in regardless of post season success.

3000 more yards won't make him a lock....it ain't just about his stats the day he retires.

It is about his numbers when he is being considered for the vote....passing league and a bunch of guys are off to some great statistical starts.

His regular season stats won't be good enough when eligible...

Smitty statically was just as good with Matt Moore on the field as with Jake or Cam

I'll give you Jimmy Jam though

I think Smith will get in, a long time from now but I think he has a chance. Just considering the way he dominated the game in his prime, the fact that he is 5'9 and played like he was 6'4. His highlight reel is as good or better than HOF WR's. He does have the triple crown to his credit. He will deserve it when he retires. The more stats he pads the better. I'd like to see him play for a few more years. Hopefully Cam get him a superbowl.

I will always talk of Steve Smith as one of the greatest to ever play. I still think in his prime he was the best in the past decade as well. Prime Steve Smith is more impressive than Fitzgerald, Wayne, AJ, etc.

All this with bad to average+ QBs, this is really impressive.
No doubt Smitty is the best WR ever.

I hope when they enshrine his bust, it's that face he made while chewing out that dirtbag HC of the saints...

Can't remember seeing any 48s since Davis left.
