#3016334 You Don't Go For It?

Posted by Cover2Safety33 on 12 October 2014 - 04:40 PM

Yes, I would have. At least I would know that we were trying to win instead of fuging tie. A tie does absolutely nothing, especially when the teams aren't in the same conference. I can't believe you people are backing such a cowardly coaching staff. We will never, and I repeat, never win a superbowl if all we do is play not to lose.

And at the end of the season, when that tie is what separates from the other teams in out division, I'll be sure to remind you; hell, if this tie costs us a post-season berth, I'll eat my crow about it, but I feel that a tie is insurmountably better than a loss.

A loss is NEVER acceptable.

now they need to do their job and lose to the bears so we can escape again by the skin of our teeth

Even if they win, we are still ahead of them because 3-2-1 > 3-3.

And if we had attempted and failed, would you be okay with 3-3 as compared to 3-2-1?

What if, on top of the loss, ATL wins? Then we are tied with them at 3-3.

Would you also want us to go for 2 after a game tying touchdown because playing for OT is disgusting and we should be able to get 2-yards easily?

You have no idea what the fug you're talking about.

Rivera gave the team every opportunity to win.

He could have run the ball once we got into FG range. Instead, he threw it deep, and we would've won had Cotchery caught that pass.

I for one will take a tie over a loss any day of the week. Live to fight another day and enjoy the fact that we tied a game that EVERYONE expected us to lose.

i wonder why the yellow patch (Lions-Vikings) along the Indiana-Kentucky border in the middle of the rest of the Panthers-Bengals coverage.

That yellow patch covers Louisville, KY.

Bridgewater went to Louisville and now plays for the Vikings, so that area gets the Vikings game.

#3003800 Luke blowing up the RB

Posted by Cover2Safety33 on 07 October 2014 - 06:33 AM

Yea, that was a blatant tripping by 25. He held on to Luke's foot for dear life. Of course, refs don't call it.

But you've gotta love having a monster like that playing the mike.

That second half looked like the Panthers we know and love. Any chance that those are the Panthers who will show up from here on out?

You gotta warn your QB if you let his blindside get beat.

It's inexcusable to leave him hanging out to dry like that.

His guilty verdict is suspended. A trial de novo removes that conviction. If he were convicted, he would be serving some sort of punishment, whether he appealed or not. The fact that Hardy is not serving any sort of punishment for his "conviction" leads me to believe that he is innocent. After the trial de novo, Hardy will have his verdict. An appeal at that point would not remove the conviction until and unless the appeal reversed the conviction.

tl;dr; Due process is important. Shut up if you have not studied or are not studying the law in law school.

#2936937 Godfrey not at fault in Bucs' first touchdown.

Posted by Cover2Safety33 on 08 September 2014 - 12:14 PM

Again, fair point made by you. But if I may redirect. It seems to me that the safety position was created to keep from getting beat over the top. This may not be the case for this particular play but it just looks like Godfrey is unaware of the possibility that the play could go where it ends up going. His awareness is atrocious and if he's not put in exactly the right spot by the coaches he is utterly useless.

Let me ask you: if Godfrey goes to defend the sideline and McCown hits the seam in the endzone, would you still be upset with Godfrey for not anticipating the pass going to the seam?

#2936370 Godfrey not at fault in Bucs' first touchdown.

Posted by Cover2Safety33 on 08 September 2014 - 08:57 AM

Godfrey had two men coming into his zone, one down the seam and another along the side-line. If White disrupts the outside receiver, then Godfrey potentially has more time to get over.

People can be upset with Godfrey all they want, but they should hold White equally responsibly in this touchdown. I just don't think Godfrey is as bad as people on this forum seem to think.

There are too many threads bashing Godfrey for me to put this in all of them, so I figured I would just post it separately.

http://blackandbluer...irst-touchdown/

"[C]ornerback Melvin White was supposed to make contact with receiver Chris Owusu. Instead, Owusu had a free path down the sideline after White allowed him to have a free released."

While Godfrey is not the best at coverage. I believe it is unfair to give him so much crap for a play in which Melvin White was at the very least equally at fault.
