#3002189 How many more times will Philly Brown muff a punt before he's pulled?

Posted by Rubi on 06 October 2014 - 07:31 AM

The punt return had nothing to do with Brown's ability. It was a busted play and he was in the right place at the right time. He struggles reading the ball on the way down and he is rarely underneath it when he needs to be. Every catch is like OMG OMG!!Next year's draft should include a special teams ace/offensive speedster..

Just my $.02

#2934769 What we learned about today's game against Tampa Bay

Posted by Rubi on 07 September 2014 - 07:26 PM

What we learned today is that Anderson can really play when it matters. There were hiccups at the end but this was Anderson's first start since 2010. He was really solid all day and gained invaluable experience. Cam got a well deserved rest and 7 more days to heel. This takes the pressure off of Newton to force himself to come backer sooner than he needs to. When he is ready he can do his thing and until then has a backup who is solid and moving the offense. Penalties and missed line assignments cost us a few drives and points.
Shula was great today.. He passed when they loaded the box and ran Deangelo around the end and Stewart up the middle when they played cover 2. He created a gameplan for Anderson that was effective. and used the whole offense with a backup quarterback who hadn't even appeared in a game since 2012. On the road against a Tampa Bay team celebrating a new coach and a new offense that is supposed to put up 35 points we pitched a shutout most of the night . Some say too conservative but I say until we closed out the game relying on the defense which is the strength of the team.
If someone had told me this is how things would unfold last night I would have been ecstatic. I hate nitpick ears and guys with axes to grind criticizing the game. It was awesome. That's it......................

I have a problem with how the game was managed going into halftime. Could've had plenty of time for some TD chances...3 timeouts and you settle for a FG??

Not cool...

#2919176 3 keys to a victory in Tampa

Posted by Rubi on 01 September 2014 - 10:49 AM

1- JStew
We are a different offense with JStew running the ball. I just don't see the vision or instincts with DWill and we cannot afford a slow start vs that upgraded Tampa defense. Pound em out early with JStew. Will open things up in the 3rd quarter.

2- Our DLine vs Their OLine
This is a big edge for us IMO and If they start that bum backup I think our Dline will feast all day long. Their Oline may be in worse shape than ours. I expect Star/Short to blow them up. I predict a 6-7 sack day with Hardy and Johnson showing up as well. Won't matter how tall their power foward WRs are if their QB is constantly under pressure and on his ass.

3- Byron Bell
I would say our entire OLine but I'm narrowing it down to the LT. Bell needs to show up against this defense. We can't have Cam running for his life. He needs to stay upright and Bell is obviously a huge factor. Protect that blind side long enough for Cam to get it to Optimus Prime.

What does everyone else think?

I suggest we all devote a minimum of 5+ hours this week with our notepads breaking down some of the preseason footage. Send in your notes and ideas to Rivera. This is a scary game IMO because of the unknowns for both squads. Rivera will need all the help he can get...

#2900354 Cam expected to play a half at New England

He needs the extra reps. Can't afford a slow start in Tampa. That team will be more than ready for us week 1. We need to start fast and demoralize them quickly.

#2871180 Boomer Esiason's most overrated players...guess who's number 1

Posted by Rubi on 30 July 2014 - 10:15 PM

How is Cam overrated? His wiki page is never ending with accolades and records he broke entering the league. You could make an argument he's had the best 3 year start to a career in the history of the NFL

Suck it boomer

#2780622 Advanced Stats on are 2 new Ballhawks plus some Ealy stats.

Our*

#2780620 We didn't do Cam any favors, and if this is it we're gonna have some...

Posted by Rubi on 11 May 2014 - 11:21 AM

Big time talent potential at WR
A first round talent DE in the 2nd
A bulldozer G to help beef up the interior of the line

That right there makes our draft a success IMO

Our DLine is going to freaking disgusting. CJ. Hardy. Star. KK. Ealy. Cole. And the rotational DE's. Yes yes yes yes!!

#2771229 Kelvin Benjamin - The Right Pick

Calvin Johnson - Megatron

Kelvin Benjamin - Optimus Prime

:-)

#2766378 Potential Trade up to 19th Overall w/Miami

Posted by Rubi on 08 May 2014 - 06:54 AM

If a GM is a bad ass...he can find gems at any spot in the draft. I'm not worried about picking at 28. We will find a good player without having to trade.
