#3098124 Still in for Rivera~

Posted by chef17 on 20 November 2014 - 12:57 AM

If you think it's ok to give the ball back to an offense with White and Jones at WR with over a minute on the clock after Ryan just picked the defense apart on the previous drive, a defense that has consistently failed in that situation while Rivera has been here, then you simply aren't very smart.

#2699863 Harper is a Solid Signing

Interesting to see some of the people who said "It's only March you can't make definite statements about the season" are the same people making definite statements saying Harper will be good/decent

That would serve what purpose exactly?

Is repeating the same Cowboys "joke" 10 times really funny?

#2579816 The Pride of Both Carolinas

.01% of South Carolinas population has voted in the poll. Wouldn't really call that enough to say an entire state doesn't support the team.

#2386624 PFF: Buffalo/Carolina Refocused: Interesting Read

Posted by chef17 on 18 September 2013 - 10:33 AM

While it wasn’t a great all-around performance, the type of pass rushing shown by Mario Williams was enough to win him the PFF Game Ball. Byron Bell will be having nightmares about his bull rush for weeks to come.

Why would Bell have nightmares? He feels like he played well

#2365854 For All That Went Wrong (AGAIN), Cause For Optimism...

Posted by chef17 on 09 September 2013 - 12:57 AM

Welp, there you have it. I think you just annihilated that one tiny, measly, miniscule hope for going forward that I had.

I was trying to find a bright spot man, and looking at how Cam played last season against them, I was thinking the poor showing wasn't indicative of a horrible, conservative, Jeff Davidson-like yesr from Shula in playcalling.

In all honesty, especially if you look at my posts immediately after the game, I'm completely listless, discouraged, and depressed by this showing. I wasn't optimistic heading into the season with Rivera returning, but again, hoping our players would win in spite of him.

What sucks, is that in some way, I view time through football seasons and I feel like it's yet another wasted and unsuccessful year, and we all grow another year older waiting for our stupid team to get it together.

I'm not going to assume anything about the season since it's the first game, I just hate moral victories. I'm a fan, all I care about is wins. All this talk about who played well is for the coaches to look at, means very little to me when it comes with a L.

When a team scores 7 points there is no "slight possibility that we didn't play as bad as it actually appeared"

#2326170 For those that don't think Getts is all in this year...

Posted by chef17 on 16 August 2013 - 11:14 AM

I keep hearing that Gettleman may not be all in or completely sold on Rivera this year.

Gettleman addressed our gaping hole at DT that the board has bitched about for years.  He drafted playmakers for depth at LB and RB instead of reaching for need.  He brought in good competition at all defensive back spots.  All of these moves were made with us starting nearly fifteen million over the salary cap.

Now everyone is whining about gaurd and o-line depth.  First, Garry Williams played during the winning streak at the end of the year.  Now he is complete garbage.  There were not any difference makers in free agency that we could sign while we were strapped for cash.  Now, posters are getting mad because Getts is letting young guys have a shot before going and finding expensive stop gaps.

Now with Gettis emerging, all of that answers on the roster stuff doesn't seem like empty rhetoric.  I thought we would be happy after getting a different GM.  Now many are complaining because he isn't operating like Hurney.

What could he have done differently to prove that he is all in with Rivera and that he is not waiting to sign his own coach?

This really need to be addressed because people keep saying things like this about the o line. Murphy played during the winning streak as well and everybody was ready for him to leave the team. If you have confidence in players that's fine, but saying or implying they won't be bad simply because they played during a winning streak is a terrible argument.

#2316242 38.5% to make playoffs according to prediction machine

Posted by chef17 on 08 August 2013 - 09:28 PM

Vegas currently have Falcons and Saints at 18/1 odds. Only 4 teams have lower odds than Panters.

Funny part is Broncos and 49ers current favorites with 6/1 odds or 16.6% chance, YET the prediction maching says Panthers more that twice as likely as 49ers or Broncos to win with the 38.5% this thread claims!? SEEMS LEGIT!

Umm the 38.5% is for making the playoffs, not winning the Superbowl
