As evidenced by the fact that we tried to sign the OT from the Bengals but couldn't compete with the $ Tampa offered.
Well said. It is easy to pile on Gettleman now, but I'd like to hear what critics would have done differently?
The Smith move was awful, but Gettleman tried to get OL in free agency but we didn't have the money. Also, who would have predicted the Hardy saga. With Hardy playing we probably aren't having this conversation.
After ignoring every single previous thread, what the fug.
To the national media. Hardy has been found GUILTY by a judge. Sure he gets to appeal. But he is appealing a GUILTY verdict. So in the eyes of the media, and the masses as well. He is GUILTY.
This is fugged up. Go against popular opinion and let him play until his appeal is played out. Or sit him for the next 5 weeks and kow tow to the media. Then if/when he is found not guilty, all hell gets to break free.
My guess is Gettleman was interested in Nicks only if Nicks was motivated and had his head on straight. Gettleman probably didn't get the impression Nicks was hungry when they met and quickly lost interest.
