Make no doubt about it, Hardy is a stud and will only get better. If we didn't already have CJ, paying Hardy would be a no brainer. If us fans want to beat up Hardy to make ourselves feel better, have at it, but Hardy will be a top 10 rusher for the next several years.
Peoples' opinions regarding athletes that want to get paid is highly hypocritical. I bet no one here would take less money from their employer in the hopes of making more in the future. Add to the fact that a players' career can end with one hit.
When players take less to play for a particular team, the amount they take less is usually marginal. No different than staying with your current employer for slightly less v leaving for slightly more money from another company. Sometimes the increase in money isn't worth it for the change. Also, many players have relationships with coaches at particular teams.
NFL players think no different than any of us about money.
Outside of Ginn on long routes, our receivers struggle to get separation. Olson is the only "receiver" that can regularly get open and separate. This makes a big difference because Cam always has to fit the ball in a tight window.
After what I saw Gettle do last year, I no longer worry about the cap, it is a joke. All we talked about here and every article last offseason said how screwed we were bc of the cap. Fast forward, we are like 16 million under the cap and signed all kind of players.
Some people here really are clueless. Do they grow top notch head coaches on trees that just wait to get hired after an opening? I'm out of the Huddle for a while if there are threads questioning a guy that will likely win coach of the year.
Our WR corp is a 34 year old stud that is now not truly a number 1, a cast off that only caught a couple passes last year, a guy that drops more passes than he catches, and another cast off that has less than 5 catches this year. Outside of Olson and Smitty, I'm not sure any of our other receivers would start for other playoff teams.
On the right side of our line we have a converted DT to OL and a guy that isn't a NFL starter.
We are 12-4 and think Shula has done pretty well considering what he has to work with. Everyone predicted Shula would run HB dives every play and that hasn't been the case. At least Shula knows the identity if this team compared to Chud and coaches accordingly.
