Hate to be the one to say this, but Snopes says it's false.

http://www.snopes.co...me/congress.asp

They point out that it's been around since 1999 and has been attributed to other places like the parliaments of Britain, Canada and India.

While they absolutely have a valid point that Congress has plenty of its own skeletons, these numbers aren't provably accurate.

While I would say it wouldn't be easy to prove these numbers or provide an accurate list of criminals in Congress; it's definitely not impossible.

i'll say it's because NC is a college basketball state and the panthers haven't been around long enough or good for long enough to get a rabid following...but on the other hand the hurricanes have a fantastic fan base...even tho they suck and it's hockey in the south. transplants play a big part but they've done a good job of building their following. panthers should take notes

I'm curious how good the Hurricanes fanbase was before that Stanley Cup?

I took you up on the suggestion, and did look it up.

From Wiki: A trial de novo is usually ordered by an appellate court when the original trial failed to make a determination in a manner dictated by law.

I'mnot privy to the actual legal proceeding Hardy had in July, but EVERY article I found says he was CONVICTED.

A conviction doesn't sound like a situation where a determination was not found, but I sure as hell am not a lawyer.

But as I have said, legal loopholes or lingo aside..the only thing the media, haters, league...etc are seeing is CONVICTED.

As soon as he was granted a jury trial, his guilty verdict was set aside. In the eyes of the NC law, he is currently innocent until proven guilty during that jury trial.
