#2393723 Who Does the Game Ball go to?

Posted by Brandon on 22 September 2013 - 03:12 PM

The game ball goes to Sean McDermott. This is a very, very good offense we shut out today. We made Eli Manning look like David Carr today, and for that I am thankful.

#2373621 Holy SH&T! Mike Irvin goes off on Brady being a little Bitch!

Brady was poo last night. He was overthrowing, underthrowing, throwing behind receivers, putting them in dangerous positions. He looked like David fuging Carr last night minus the gloves. I'm sorry but you don't get to act like an entitled cock because you used to be good.

I'm not sure what you guys were expecting out of Domenik "The Human PUP List" Hixon.

#2320020 So, how worried should we be about Sean Mcdermott?

lol two years ago everyone wanted him hung at dawn

This website never overreacts, and is patient with every member of the organization.

I wouldn't worry about it too much, we'll cross that bridge when we get to it.

Just going to leave this here.

#2311289 Am I the only person worried about Amini Silatolu?

Posted by Brandon on 04 August 2013 - 10:18 PM

He struggled at first but made big strides towards the end of last year and playing without Ryan Kalil certainly didn't help him any. We really just need to get these guys into game sitautions (aka preseason) to really see how they're doing before we start to worry.

#2311173 So Armanti has earned a roster spot..

Posted by Brandon on 04 August 2013 - 08:12 PM

I love the underdog.  AE is certainly that.  I hope he makes it, and becomes a star.

Certainly sounds like he is working hard...which makes it an even better story.

Hope he is in our 53.

And this is why it baffles me that people go out of their way to say hateful things about Armanti as if it's his fault that Hurney gave up a valuable second round pick for him. He was thrust into a terrible situation and he's trying to make the best of it and our fans should as well.

Let's be realistic about Armanti for a second. Many people here have been critical of him, for good or bad, based on his lack of development as a receiver, which is all well and good except for the fact that his first season he had Fox who had no interest in teaching him. Follow that up into his second season where there is a lockout and once again no real instruction during the time of year where he could really use it to make an impact.

As of right now he's had his second real offseason, this time with Ricky Proehl teaching him, where the onus of development isn't so high on getting a bunch of other receivers trained. Will this training pay off and he finally make an impact on Sundays? I have no idea but I'm certainly not going to count him out, and he's definitely earned his way into good favor with his work ethic and noticeable improvement this offseason.

I've always preferred our corner seats.  Gives good perspective to the play no matter where the action is occurring.

Same. I am lower level in a corner but I love the isometric perspective that you normally don't get with televised events.

#2282357 Things aren't going so well in Bristol

Agreed. Don't really care for the hosts of NFL AM but total access is pretty good. The majority of their programming is way better than NFL related stuff that ESPN offers.

NFL AM makes me want to jab the remote control through my eye socket it's so terrible. They're trying to make it the Today Show of the NFL and unfortunately, that's a terrible idea full stop.

The real problem with ESPN and some of these sports networks is that they've stopped trying to inform the audience and are instead trying to dazzle them. They talk about vague things like "he wanted it more" and "this guy just wins games" rather than "they executed a perfect defense to take their best player effectively out of the game"  or "this guy has a tremendous supporting cast and here's why the wins may not tell the whole story". I understand it's easier to make flashy content, and hell it drove ratings up for a while, but people got bored of it and a lot of people are dropping cable because cable television has literally gone to complete poo over the past 3 years.

The worst thing about cable TV at the moment is that the History Channel is now a reality TV network, everything on TruTV is a lie, MTV hasn't shown a music video in prime time since I graduated college, SciFi is now SyFy, Travel Channel is now "slightly weird food network", and ESPN has stopped actually covering sports and has now switched to some sort of athlete melodrama that occasionally airs sporting events as well. I could go on but now I'm too worked up to sleep and I have a meeting in the morning. God dammit.
