Is matt moore criticism allowed on here?

24 August 2010 - 01:27 PM

i dunno guys, i must have missed that hr meeting at the huddle office where we decided that all negativity towards matt moore was to be left at the door. I'm serious 90 percent of the huddle supports matt moore like he was the unquestioned 6 time pro bowler 4500 yard 30td passer that he is not. I wish the guy well, but at the same time I would love for every player in that roster to be in "a short leash". I hope moore kills, and if he dosen't then he really needs to get evaluated (i hope). There seems to be a serious backlash to anyone calling moore anything but hope, like called a troll, or even question the faith in the team. And look all I hope for the huddle is to understand that this guy has not grown on some people, and if the guy struggles next week, and we start shaky because poor offense/qb play to really realize that moore may not be the guy, clausen may be a bust and we might look to trade for a qb.....but seriously guys, i hope we can get moore of his high chair, go out there and earn your job buddy, start 6-0 THEN i might buy your jersey, till then...

The Matt Moore Lame Duck Offense

22 August 2010 - 10:42 PM

constructive criticism doesn't hurt anybody, if it makes a person or player do better I am all for it. Last season and anytime matt started for the panthers, before he takes the first snap I used to refer to him as the "lame duck offense". It just seemed very different, we had a turnover machine in number 17, but he moved the ball either for the good or bad......it did things like score points for us or the other guys. I rewatched the patriots game from last year, vikings game again, and specifically looking for this problem, i found it often. 3 and out, incomplete, incomplete, long play, incomplete, incomplete, decent play. Should i be content with this. Is this okay in the long run? Are we satisfied with a game manager, or do we want a high-risk high reward? Am i missing something or would we qualify this as the lack of practice with the first team.

Panther's fortune

22 August 2010 - 10:30 PM

Okay so week 1 went by, hopes high, week 2 went by hopes low, week 3 around the corner.....replaying the last two weeks in my head got me thinking, wait wait wait.....joe flacco, this guy is not a vet, this guy played in division II, this guy was rated an F during the draft by many guys when the ravens drafted him high.....hes killed us 2 years in a row in the preaseason and we play him again week 10 or 11. How did this franchise turn around so quickly, they weren't bad, but they weren't also superbowl contending, then i found this little tidbit of information....

Two years ago, the Ravens had no intention of making then-rookie Joe Flacco the opening-day starter, due to concerns about the quality of the offensive line, the lack of competition, and throwing the boy into the wolves.... But Troy Smith came down with tonsilitis, and Flacco went the distance in a Week 3 preseason game against the rams....the rest is history.

Why couldn't that be us?

Obvious Moore/Clausen aint ready crap

Panthers next 2 games

22 August 2010 - 05:00 PM

I think its time to move on from the jets game, and focus on what a successful campaign against the titans and steelers will look like in the next two weeks realistically. For me to look at week one with confidence and expect a fight out of the panthers against the giants i would love for this to happen:

1) Matt moore gives us a good 3rd game, i dont mean blow out 5td performance, but a solid 3 quarters against the titans, and i understand that hes basically playing with half the a team out but if he can make those throws sharper and have more pocket awaraness..

2) Kenneth out, Jarret joke, Lafell in= obvious starter in my eye, if he could just come up with a few grabs and soldify his place as 2nd it would make the rest of the puzzle come together= jarret 3rd, moore 4th, wright 5th

3)No more AE handling punts, all munnerlyn, goodson, or whoever,

4) Defense is sick, if they can duplicate that physicallity again I would not worry too much..

so thats it, our problems are fixable, the sky won't fall, if moore and lafell can show a bit of chemistry and the st get their act together it would let make week 1 seem more feasable, its 3 sundays from now, not that far away so hopefully it will all work out in the end.

Preseason 2010 vs history

22 August 2010 - 02:11 PM

hello huddle, new guy here, I been reading this site since '05 and just decided to chime in. All negativity aside, the 2010 carolina panthers after 2 preseason games in comparison to previous years means exactly what? Lets say we have a duplicate 3rd game and a 4th game that dosen't suffice. Is this a prediction of gloom and doom? does anyone remember preseason from 05, 06, 07, or 08 in relation to how the season panned out? I dunno I feel like our 1st teamers are really the B team in the most of vanilla ways and I dont know if I should panic yet, I care a lot about this team, and I look forward all year EVERY year for this and i just dont know.
