#3288468 Stephen Hill

Posted by MadHatter on 17 March 2015 - 05:12 PM

Hill is insurance....... not saying its great or good, but still he's young, cheap, and has "potential".

If there's one WR coach that can make hill a legit nfl WR, its ricky. He's had one year, plus this offseason. Its time to show if he's got it or not. Dave is always adding players, some of which pan out. Lucas, presly, and brown have skills and talent. Sure they are lesser known, but there's more to being WR than speed.

Where is all of the talk about Ricky being a great WR coach really coming from? I know that Smitty gives him a lot if credit in his development when Ricky was a WR here. However, what great talent has Ricky really developed as a coach?

Just wondering people's perspective.

#3287514 Average Gain from Big FA Spending Sprees? 0 Wins

Posted by MadHatter on 17 March 2015 - 06:46 AM

There are two groups on here right now:

Group A:  I want FA's signed and we should just restructure contracts (pushing cap hit into the future) to clear barely enough room to sign someone.  Even though this continues to leave us in cap hell going forward.

Group B:  We are trying to get out of the cap hell that Hurney created so that we can make the right FA moves in the future and to be able to sign our upcoming FA's in the future.  We are in year 3 of a 3 year process and everyone should just hold course.  We may not maximize this season, but we will be set up correctly going forward.

Group A needs to understand that the Group B methodology is EXACTLY what the Panthers are doing and should stop posting 10 threads a day bitching and whining about how the FO does not care about winning and is cheap.  They believe in winning.....consistently winning and are putting the team in a position to do this.

#3286764 Cowboys in negotiations with Greg Hardy?

Nope...he is dead serious.

He thinks Hardy paying off Holder and her refusing to testify means Hardy was innocent.

LOL now you cant come back with anything but some lies. Nice try but that daughter was so beaten that she decided to go to NYC and skip there whole justice thing.

The only funny part to the whole Hardy fiasco is that some of you ACTUALLY think it makes him look innocent by him settling with and paying off Holder, her disappearing, and the charges being dropped.

However, to most sane people out there it actually makes him look more guilty....throw money at her to make her go away and not testify.

She was jet setting all over the US for months before this broke...you can be damn sure that Hardy paid her long ago.

I have no idea what he actually did or did not do (as I was not there).  But I bet you that he is not totally innocent....yet, I also doubt he is guilty of everything that she accused him of either.

#3283728 Is Brenton Bersin really that bad?

Posted by MadHatter on 14 March 2015 - 08:19 AM

This is not that hard to understand. .

Get a player that either is a better contributor on special teams or can turn that once in a while clutch catch into more than just a 1st down..

Your statement is just plain stupid and shows why the Madden generation of fans do not get it.

Wanting a guy who can make a splash play once in a while over a guy who is consistent and moves the chains. Just plain dumb.

#3281824 Do Gettleman's comments on Oher...

Posted by MadHatter on 13 March 2015 - 07:51 AM

Very scary...Jesus when the majority of huddlers are right and the GM/coaches are wrong that's like Armageddon fuging scary...like Jarrett scary...

I really do not think that DG was happy and satisfied going into last year with Bell and Chandler.  Fact was that we had ZERO money to spend on OT and he played the hand that he was dealt.

#3281729 Shockey, Olsen and Tolbert.. Why did we get away from getting those level of...

Posted by MadHatter on 13 March 2015 - 06:31 AM

I think it is more like 12.8 million and a few restructured contract could create more. Admittedly, the Panthers are not swimming in available funds. They are in the bottom third. For example, the Dolphins only had 7 million in cap space.

The sad reality is that the Panthers should have much more cap space given it's talent current contract structurings.

Continuously restructuring contract....converting to guaranteed money....kicking the can down the road...just to max out the credit card on mediocre FA's is a recipe for disaster.

It is what got us in this mess...and us why the Daivts are in full fire sale mode.

This ain't Madden

if there's a type of guy that would get something better out of a 5th round pick than patterson it's david gettleman, but fugit, i say pull the trigger.

If I am trading a 5th for a young WR, I would rather have Stills

Did none of you listen when Rivera and DG days they were going to bring in players to specifically upgrade special teams.
