#3139591 When Your QB Knows More Than Your OC

Posted by MadHatter on 16 December 2014 - 05:11 PM

Yeah we need to replace Shula this offseason, I supported him last year because his calls weren't as bad as people suggested, but this years been pretty bad

His playcalling from last year to this year has not really changed....whether you like him or not is another question.

The difference between last year and this year has been talent and execution:

   1.  OLine has had all kinds of issues

   2.  Cam has not been 100% and his running ability was not there/utilized during most of the season

   3.  Defense has played nowhere near the level as last year....which puts a lot more pressure on the offense

Shula last year is Shula this year.

#3139407 Do you have any confidence in ATL to beat NO?

Posted by MadHatter on 16 December 2014 - 02:49 PM

I have no confidence in any NFC South team this year.  I could see anything happening, including New Orleans beating the Falcons, and losing to Tampa. The division winner will be the team that sucks the least.

I am with you.  Given the ridiculous inconsistency shown in the NFC South this season, I would not be surprised with any outcome in the next two weeks.

Any of the 4 teams could easily win....or just as easily lose.

I still think we have a good shot at this though.

In one thread CelibatePimp will be practically tripping over himself to talk up Newton.

In the next he will be the only guy trying to convince you that Newton doesn't know poo.

Strange.

Only to someone who can't understand what he was ACTUALLY trying to say.

All Pimp said was that making one call that was successful does NOT validate the OP's assertion and statement that Cam knows more than the OC.  He did NOT say that Cam did not know poo.

#3138872 Old man rant: people wearing headphones while driving

Not true. If you have an AUX jack (cutting edge technology in 2005!), you can plug your phone into it and have the sound go through your car speakers.

Damn....did not realize that.

Thanks for the info.

#3138778 Thanks for nothing Chicago

Posted by MadHatter on 16 December 2014 - 07:51 AM

Chicago is the worst team in the league right now.

Was saying it before last night.......Saints beat the Bears but then lose to the Falcons.  We beat the Browns and that sets up a winner take all game between Carolina and Atlanta for the division.

#3137184 The guy dressed as Car Crash Cam in the stadium...who was it?

Posted by MadHatter on 15 December 2014 - 12:09 PM

If it had been Byron Bell in the crash and some guy did this, you all would be adding jokes and finding it hilarious. The reason most you are all getting your panties in a wad is because it is Cam...not because of what the guy did.

#3137058 Saints @ Bears...which train wreck stays on the rails?

Posted by MadHatter on 15 December 2014 - 11:11 AM

Damn... Pretty warm in Chicago today

But, 70-80% chance of rain there tonight.

Gonna be a sloppy field and game.

Favors the run game....feed Forte.

The same Panthers that only barely beat the much worse Bucs because of a fumble inside their own 10 yard line.  Take away that play and we probably lose.  Nothing is easy with this team.

Guess we should take away the fumble that we also had inside our 5 yard line.....don't fumble and we win by multiple scores.

You can't cherrypick a stat or play.

Manziel is gonna get all the excuses in the world from ESPN. I hope we destroy him next week

Manziel is going to have an nfl career shorter than The Golden Calf of Bristol's. There is nothing about his game (physical or mental) that translates to success in the nfl.

I think espn does this only because they found this site and saw how ridiculously sensitive and on the rag you guys get when they do not mention cam.

They are trolling you guys.

Dont get it twisted I have my opinions on domestic violence and beating kids and such but thats for my own household is really my point im trying to make. Everyone else and I that arent directly involved with him should just ignore it as its not our problem

Domestic and child abuse is NOT just a household's problem.....it is not just between a man and his wife or a man and his kid. It is all of our problem...and that is the only way anything is done about it.

#3131527 Adrian Peterson's appeal denied

Personally, I dont see anything wrong with being whooped with a hickory switch, but I do agree he went too far or was unable to stop himself. Like I said, my main disagreement is with the use of the word torture. I've heard many times now in reference to this and its not torture. it may be a form of child abuse, but he wasn't torturing his kid.

Switches leave welts and cut the skin easily. They should be off limits.

My dad spanked me with a belt plenty of times when I was a kid.

And if you asked him today if he regrets it, he would tell you yes.

Teach your kids respect and proper behavior and you don't have to lay a hand on them for discipline . If you find that you need to "whoop" your kid's ass, you more than likely have failed as a parent.

I'm not condoning it, but it is common practice. I've been around it my whole life. Did AP go to far, yes but the the guy I quoted said "tortured" which it wasn't. AP didn't beat his kid for pleasure. Huge difference.

Sorry wing...he beat his kid. Why he did it is irrelevant. The fact that he did it is what matters.

And the scary part is that he thinks he did nothing wrong. That tells me that he is likely to do it again.

Those who can't see the diff in what he did and acceptable discipline levels are amazing to me.

And, just because it was common practice in the past, it does not make it right.
