#2856198 Cam Newton works with other Panthers on chemistry

Posted by MadHatter on 17 July 2014 - 09:35 PM

Loved the article.

Especially liked the part where Cam was instructing the WR's and also stopping to ask them what they preferred on various routes. That is the mark of a great leader and QB.

#2855182 FBI: violent crime rates drop to historic lows

Posted by MadHatter on 17 July 2014 - 09:37 AM

I'm in the same field with MH.  Counting is nothing... software does all the counting.  What is critical in our position is Analytics,  Critical thinking, multimilion dollar decisions.  Accounting have thousands of rules and regulations when it comes to reporting.  You have to use your judgement A LOT.  That's why accountants get paid the big bucks.

Let it go.

When the person thinks that "counting" is actually considered a highly marketable and profitable skillset, it tells you all you need to know about them.  But then again, to his skillset....counting may actually be a high level skill that he does not have.

but he has a marketable skill (counting poo) therefore, he would never know the struggle living paycheck to paycheck, choosing whether to pay the light bill or buy food; or doing both by selling a little vegetation on the side.

You are correct that I probably will not struggle to live that way....nor will I need so illegal sell drugs on the side.

You see, I made a choice at a young age to do better than that.  I decided that an education was the means to a financially successful life....and I worked to achieve that.

Unlike most on here who constantly post that a college education is over rated....that doing drugs is "OK"....and yet continue to bitch and complain about what they do not have and what other "unfairly have".

Anything worth having is worth working your ass off to achieve.....nevermind, just go back to hitting another bowl and eating your Doritos.

#2854261 Jordan should get a lot of credit for the turnaround

Mike, if you can bring multiple NBA championships to Charlotte you can hate white people all you want.

I just love that even after retiring he still wants to win at no matter what he does.

he is one of the most competetive peopel that you will ever meet....so is his brother.

#2853612 If You Are Cho: Does Hendo Stay?

Posted by MadHatter on 16 July 2014 - 08:10 AM

I know everyone wants to ditch him but I like the idea of having him come off the bench.  Depth is never a bad thing and he's still a decent player.   But yeah you're right, I don't know if he'll accept it, but he may have no choice.  He seems like a good guy so maybe he'll just take it with stride and just play hard to find a new home.

I think you keep him.

PJ is a complete unknown right now as a backup

Hold on.... Steve smith gets into two fights that EVERYONE Sees and stays here forever

Hardy gets mixed up with a crazy $ hungry ho and he is gone???

Nope.

Smitty got into a heated altercation on the sidelines with a team mate during practice....Hardy was convicted of assault and battery on a female.

Not even CLOSE to the same thing.

You can use that logic with ancient aliens and Bigfoot as well so it's a great multipurpose crazy person argument.

You are absolutey correct on the logic being used for ancient aliens, Bigfoot, etc.

There is evidence that they very well could have and do exist....but not enough to relly prove anything.

Because the fact is that we don't know.

There are three types of people in the religion arguement:

1.  Those that believe in God and religion.....and look down upon anyone who questions it

2.  Those that do not believe in God and religion....and look down/insult those that do

3.  Those that admit that it is very possible that God and religion is true, but they struggle internally to find that truth.  Difference is that they do not judge/insult those that believe and don't believe.

I am clearly in category 3

#2844757 Hayward agrees to sign

There isn't always a difference....but there is a difference.  It depends on what sort of offensive/defensive system is being ran.  There's something called a "2 wing" set and there is something called a "3 wing set".

A  SF in a  "2 wing set" is where primarily a small forward plays like a traditional forward.  Against a zone defense they would generally jet to the elbow when the ball is on the opposite side of their position(motion zone).  When the ball is moved to their side they're either squatting in the post or moving out to the short corner (spread offense).  Against man to man, obviously there are more set plays to move off of off ball screens but generally because of spacing they're not handling the ball as much unless it's driving to the rim.  This is typically a traditional half court style of offense when you're bigs are your strength.  Think Michigan State.

A SF in the "3 wing set"  the SF has the ability to handle the ball and is more prone to playing along the perimeter.  In essence in this sort of lineup you have a SGa and a SGb.  This is typically played when you have an athletic advantage, you want your shooters on the court, and/or you're trying to push the ball....which we do a lot.

Hayward is valuable because he does have the ability to do both, but from my observation his strength is in a "3 wing set". Which means that he could play as a 2nd SG on the floor. If we need a big lineup on the floor he could be the SG.  I don't think this means he plays solely as a SG, but just when we're going big.

excellent post.

Haywards value lies in the fact that he can slide to the 2 sometimes when MKG is brought in.  His strength is still at the SF position, so I doubt that the Hornets would sign him to a max contract to move him primarily to the SG position

#2844123 Woj: Brian Roberts "on top of short list" to backup Kemba, meeting wi...

Posted by MadHatter on 09 July 2014 - 04:06 PM

Please don't sign this kid. After watching the Pelicans the last few years, Hornets will regress when he comes in the game. He's a black hole. Shot first and pass last type of player. Defense is terrible and only decent off pick and roll. Shot tons of threes at the wrong times during the game. No to Roberts!!!!!!!

Yes, because black holes that do not pass have 18 assist games.

#2844107 McCrory posts the most staged picture in NC political history...

Posted by MadHatter on 09 July 2014 - 03:53 PM

No.  I'm pretty much done bashing McCrory, but G5 won't let it go...

As for the "ethnicity" comment... honestly to me that's on the same level as the yoyo's in the Mercedes thread saying race has something to do with opinions on welfare.  As for political affiliation, no, I doubt you'll see CWG or Delhommey starting a thread about anything disparaging a democrat, no matter what they did...

As for Nagin... he's a turd from a shithole city that I couldn't care less about whereas McCrory actually affects my life... so...

Valid point

As for the political affiliation, it is hilarious to see in the media.

I read various articles about it on CNN, MSN, etc.  Could not find a single article that even mentioned he was a democrat.  Had he been republican, it would have been in the title of the article.

Ok maybe market value was incorrect terminology, more like pay/performance ratio. At this time it looks like Charlotte still needs to pay a little more than would otherwise be necessitated by a marquee team.

I thought he was a SF

Sent from my iPhone using CarolinaHuddle

He is.

But people on here are so desperate to believe that MKG will be the starting SF (even though his offense is still putrid) that they think we will offer a max contract for a SF and then play him out of position.
