Then he wouldn’t weigh in at his Pro Day and only did drills. Then Tepper was star struck by Saban and took the 185 lb quarterback that ordered a SCALLOP SALAD instead of like three entres to keep his weight up. I saw this coming from 10 miles away. Many other people did as well and most of them have left the board because of how they were treated here for even the suggestion that Bryce wasn’t the best option. If he had been anywhere else but Alabama, he’s a 4th round pick.

I saw it in 2023 and I preached from the rooftops about it. I was ignored and even given a weak ban here for “spreading negativity”. It was easy to see. What would Bryce have looked like at Kentucky and what would Levis have looked like at Alabama? What would Anthony Richardson look like at Alabama and Bryce at Florida?

Canales isn’t the issue. Wilks and Darnold weren’t the issue. At some point, Tepper has to get out of the way and let football people do football things. cut Bryce, draft Nussmier from LSU, or one of the few others I saw over the weekend, and move forward. nussmier will be a Top 5 pick though. I got laughed at and suspended at one point for suggesting Darnold and Baker weren’t the issue.

7. Sam Darnold played like a Pro Bowl QB with a competent NFL head coach I said this at the time, and I’ll repeat it again, cutting Wilks and Darnold loose instead of doubling down on the success of that year was stupid.

Go back and watch. I don’t know if it’s a youth thing or what. My best way to analyze college players is to put them on other teams and see what would happen. Caleb Williams at Alabama likely propels them to a National Championship. Drake Maye at Alabama likely propels them to a National Championship. Same thing for Daniels, Stroud, later Nix, etc. Bryce was good at Alabama but so was everyone else, and that is showing up now.

And on that fourth down play, Johnson was still disappointed by Bryce’s poor throw and poor timing. He got it there but that’s about the best you could say for it.

Getting the ball out fast? He looked the exact same as he did last year, to me. It was on drive, against the second team of the Bills, and he still found it necessary to flee the pocket and then thew to Diontae about 3 seconds too late, as you could see by Johnson’s reaction after he caught the ball. every highlight of Johnson that I’ve seen he looks disappointed. Must be hard to go from Ben to Young.

Underrated? He is considered one of the Panthers greats. There are three: Berlein, Delhomme, Armanti Edwards, and Cam Newton. And yes, as an App State fan, I am still bitter that Armanti never got his shot.

One has to question if that is the goal? Run the team into the ground for a few years, claim dwindling fan interest, move team.

So 4.2 YPA and five sacks with two interceptions? Everyone said Bryce looked good in joint practices last year too.

Why does Bryce get a pass yet Darnold and Baker did not? I can think of a few things.

Should we give him a participation trophy while we are at it? Dude is a professional athlete and wouldn’t be third string on probably 16 other teams right now. So we can bash Tepper for pushing this, we can bash Fitterer for not standing up to Tepper.

I'm of the opinion there are better QB rooms in North Carolina right now. App State, UNC, and NC State being three of them.
