CMC was shocked and hurt by the trade. Did we lose the trade? A better question is have we won at anything in years? Losing CMC makes it easy to bottom out and start landing #1 overall picks to select QBs. We lost our 2024 pick, but we likely will have the 2025 #1 overall pick unless a miracle turnaround happens. CMC would elevate us to 4 or 5 wins by dragging the offense down the field like a plow horse, and against bad teams that is sometimes enough for a win. With no CMC we have hit rock bottom, and it is time for the NFL reward program to kick into effect. We pile up losses and look at the top couple of QBs in the draft. On the other hand, if Young becomes good then we build around him. Even if Young pans out in the long run, CMC would be an aging and extremely expensive RB whose body would be completely wrecked from being Mr. Everything here.

I would draft another QB, but I'm not qualified to say Young is cooked. I don't know, but what I do know is that he looked like total poop, and CJ looked good. That's troubling to say the least.

He might be worse than Nate Chandler and I never thought I'd see anyone worse. A sports writer, upon seeing Nate play for the first time said, "He is like a pillar of ash that disintegrates on contact." Zavala gave Nate a run for his money for Panthers all time worst o-lineman.

I can't believe that o-line coach lasted as long as he did. He celebrated like a moron when we drafted Zavala, and proceeded to have the most confused and under performing o-line in the NFL. I thought he would be fired right after Frank and Beans was canned.

I'm all for a ban on bringing up the past. We didn't want Fitt, Rhule, and Frank and Beans to do what they did, but it's over now. They made the most idiotic mistakes at every turn, and now we're the worst team in the NFL by far. The good news is that there is a system in place to prevent teams from staying in the basement, the NFL draft and free agency. We're just going to have to wait this out and try not to die of boredom. I'm thinking its going to be SF versus the Ravens. If CMC is the difference maker in that game, then that will be the cherry on top of the worst NFL season in Panthers history. At least with Pickles we had the #1 pick coming up. Now we have nothing. This is rock bottom.

If you look at my mock drafts I snap up QBs. I want one immediately. The Panthers on the other hand, who knows.

As much as I want a QB in the 2024 draft I really don't see the Panthers taking one. I see Young getting one more chance to lock down that spot behind a better o-line and better weapons. If he flops, then 2025 is the year we take a QB with possibly the number one overall pick. When Young is bad he's almost like a high school kid out there throwing turkeys. If he does that in 2024 then we're a lock for the #1 or #2 overall pick. I like a lot of these 2024 system QBs. One problem, our "system" is we don't have one. We had complete morons running this franchise into the ground, and it's going to take a while to recover. 2024 can be the year of slowly recovering, and then we make our move for a QB in 2025.

Two guards were injured, and NC State's very own Chandler Zavala played like Nate Chandler. Icky played like a backup LT on most passing downs, and had to be helped often. He's a liability. Can't have guys coming untouched from the blindside on a regular basis. Christensen is a tweener, he can play both OT and G. Icky is tall for the guard spot, but we need him on the field. He's enormous and powerful. Give him a shot a guard. Bozeman stays at Center because of his contract and because he under performed partly because of the constant o-line shuffle. He needs one more chance. I want Moton to finish his career here at RT. That leaves the RG spot, and I DO NOT want Zavala over there as a starter, and the other scrub guards need to but cut. I say we draft a RG, or better yet a guard/tackle tweener. If not then hit free agency hard and do some serious spending. Then you have Corbett coming back to compete for a starting spot, and if he goes down again it's not a killer. So we don't have to blow up the team and spend a fortune to patch this o-line up. I don't think there is any chance that Chistensen would be worst than Icky at pass blocking. The key would be Christensen's ceiling at LT, an he really needs to come through for us. Otherwise we go into the 2025 draft needing a QB and LT which would be nightmare fuel.

Baltimore has the kind of defense where everyone is exactly where the are supposed to be and they're swarming. They'll be tough to beat.

Purdy will make an easy completion, and then watch the yac pile up.

If we can land a top quality GM that could work wonders. We've had bad rosters for so long that watching GB and SF is kind of amazing. We're so much worse top down that's it's almost funny.

If I'm a GB receiver I'm feeling a little nervous that I'm going to have to take some hard hits.

Ravens just had the better team. The Texans o-line made a lot of mistakes and played like they were exhausted. Ravens defense is always on point, and Jackson's scrambling can be a back breaker.

Obviously CJ is better than Young. Its not even close, but Young is in a terrible situation here. We're the worst team in the NFL by far, and he's stuck here. Young's ceiling is an ordinary game manager who is barely holding the starting spot, but what we're seeing is Young on a nightmare bad team, so he looks feeble and pathetic.

I can't sleep well at night unless I know Nicole is monitoring our o-line at practice.
