Yeah I've looked at more prospects this time around than ever before. In the past I've been able to call a couple of first round picks that were long shots, but overall after the first round I have the worst ability in predicting our picks. The Panthers almost never pick who I want in rounds 2-7. Sometimes it feels like they're messing with me. I remember the YGM pick and just thinking about how I never would have guessed him. Doing a lot of mocks and looking at a lot of prospects really helps me to enjoy the draft a lot more. I don't like seeing a bunch of names popping up as picks and having no idea who they are or why they were taken. We're closing in on the final mock that I will do leading up to the draft and I will title it as such. And you can bet that whoever I pick in round 2-7 will NOT be the players the Panthers pick. Other teams will take them.

Young is maxed out. He's playing as well as he can play mentally, but you can see he is limited physically. His arm is just not elite, and he's never going to be that dominant QB. He'll run the offense and make good decisions, but there are going to be times when he can't see his throwing lanes and targets. Teams can scheme to exploit his physical limitations. Yes he is highly intelligent and gifted instinctively, but do we really want to run a spread type offense and hope he turns into Drew Brees? Risky. CJ has a cannon, and he can easily see over the line. And he can drop dimes all over the field, period. He has not maxed out his potential. There is room form him to grow, and if he steps his game up to the next level, then you have a dominant QB. A guy who can win the SB. On the other hand, if he doesn't really take it to the next level, I think you can still have a guy who something Geno Smith maybe. Not the end of the world. I want CJ because his arm is better, and it's up to the coaches to to make something happen with him. The raw talent is there, and we have the coaching staff in place, so I'd take CJ. If CJ poops the then it was all his fault for not caring and giving it his all. The talent is there.

I was saying find a #1WR in free agency, and the mother of all draft decisions is the QB we take.
-
With the players we have now?
-
But yes I am excited too.

He is a nice little chess piece to move around the board and keep the chains moving here and there, but we are facing monstrously athletic WRs and we don't have a counter punch for that yet. Fitt get moving.
-
Is anyone else scared Fitt gave him way too much?

Well let's see, he probably runs a 4.8 40 at this point, 6'1, 190, and he was never that fast. He is a guy who is valuable because he can run routes with extreme precision, and he is sneaky at finding open spots in a zone. Basically he's a craft vet and nothing like DJ Moore. More like a Julian Edleman is what comes to mind.

Thielen's best years are obviously behind him. We need a #1 WR pronto.
-
I'm kind of surprised at the overjoyed reaction to this signing, but hey more power to you. I'm worried about finding a #1 WR, and the mother of all decisions coming up in the draft.

Same as saying "my sources say"
