My general impression is that this is a weak draft for LBs, so I'll be interested in seeing the LB prospects. The DL guys appear pretty straight forward what you see is what you get, a lot of stiff DEs. This is a weird group of LBs though imo.

Yeah I only traded up for CJ once because it's so unrealistic. I try to keep it somewhat realistic, but PFF's mock draft simulator is broken or something. The trades wouldn't happen in a lot of cases.

It's all about timing. CMC is a win now player due to his contract. You don't want to be paying CMC that kind of money when we're several seasons away from being a playoff team. Makes no sense. Just like it made no sense to extend CMC, but now we owe him over 18 million in 2023. We just have a mismanaged team. Why didn't we trade Burns 2 first round picks and a second? Mismanagement. We're a mess, but at least we're not on the hook longer term with CMC. We're a mismanaged team that lost a 2nd and 4th round pick for Sam, AND picked up his 5th year option. CMC should be angry that we brought in Sam and our team isn't managed properly. If we had the basic bases covered we would have made the playoffs last season (we only needed 1 more win) and CMC would still be here. Moving forward we have to hope there is some kind of plan in place to land a QB. We failed to land Watson, we passed on Fields (not saying that was a bad idea), and poop Darnold is still hanging around with hopeless Corral waiting for axe to drop. What a mess.

The Panthers will 100% trade up and draft a QB

This is how much evidence the Huddle needs to think two black QBs are the same.

If you look at my latest mock I waited on edge rusher until the 84th pick, and still got a very good starter, but he is stiff in how he plays. I waited unto the 93 pick and still got a good not great TE. CB I got lucky toward the end with a guy who can be serviceable in case we have injury trouble at the position. The odds that one of our CBs is injured next season for several games are highly likely. I went high on Henley because this is a weak draft for the position, and I wanted a hard hitting explosive backer with size and speed. But that cost our second rounder, and the third round would have been slim pickings. Quintin went first because we need TDs not field goals. Quitin is a supreme red zone target, and high first round picks need to put points on the board. Yes Quintin's rout running is weird, but he can learn and he has quick twitch muscles for a guy so big. That means he's big problem for any CB. I took Hooker because it looks like we're interested in him, and he has a great arm and running ability. It's up to the coaches to make him a star. He has the physical assets obviously.

Judging by early mocks in all simulations there is some agreement that this draft is very deep for edge rushers, tight ends and QBs, and weak in linebackers, WR, and DT. This will likely change as the players continue to be evaluated.

You're looking at the top guys: Dalton Kincaid Michael Mayfer Luke Mugrave Darnell Washington ----------------------------------- Lower tier (big drop off in talent) Sam Laporta Tucker Kraft You want one of the guys in the upper tier, and that means we need to spend at least a 3rd round pick. The will be gone in the 4th imo.

PFF just doesn't like Hooker.
