  1. NO has a consistent defense and Carr makes their offense dangerous. I think they win the division. Atlanta will be good but banking on a rookie running back to carry the load isn't a good idea. I think we have an overall better roster and we'll be 2nd in the division. I know we looked horrendous in the preseason but that was by design. I really think we are going to have a very exciting team. Remember Cam's first two seasons if we had a decent defense we would have made the playoffs our offense was pretty potent. Our rookie QB wasn't the problem. It was the D. This year if our Rookie plays well, we have a defense that can get us some wins.
  2. I believe the defense is going to be top 10 as long as we an stay healthy. If we can stay in games with our D. We have a chance. Young, so they say, is a baller and if he can lead this team to a couple of late game wins we have a chance. My prediction, Young wins Rookie of the year and we steal a wildcard spot. Reich wins coach of the year too.
  3. Fatten it up and you can have a pre-Panther game meal.
  4. Agreed that the lawsuit isn't doing him any favors. I wouldn't have a problem with Wilks being a head coach for this team. However, it would have been imperative that the OWNER/GM hire a good offensive coordinator. I don't think there are many head coaches that do both. Billicheat is one of the few that do well with both sides of the ball. Of course, it didn't hurt him that he had a HOF QB for 20 years. If Wilks wasn't stuck with McAdoo as an OC he might have fared much better.
  5. Wasn't he force to go with Rosen at QB? His situation was terrible and IMO he was fired only so they could hire Kingsbury the next super coach. LOL
  6. I don't think it is wise to release Corral. You are talking a 3rd round pick that has only one year of legitimate work. Releasing him and hope he clears waivers is a huge gamble someone else doesn't pick him up. Young has yet to take a regular season snap and the concern of injury should not be taken lightly. While Young has shown the ability to maneuver the pocket it's still unknown if he will make it through an entire season without getting hurt. Dalton is at the end of his career. I think the biggest reason we keep Corral is he's young and has shown growth this preseason. With the addition of Ihmir Smith-Marsette I believe Wright is expendable. I also see us letting Sullivan and Thomas go and Ricci being the 3rd TE/FB. Plus Wright will possibly be easier to stash on the PS over Corral. All will depend on our front office signing players from other teams. We're 9th in the pecking order of waiver claims so it's a good chance we will get at least one or two of those coveted players.
  7. I think Hubbard is going to be fine. I think it is in our best interest to see what he does when we actually game plan and use him properly. Catching the ball out of the backfield is something a player can improve on. We'll have to wait and see. Determining he's not what we need before we ever take a real snap just doesn't make sense.
  8. Pretty much Crickets from the Nuthugging Trey Lance Fans. I told you he was garbage after game one last year. "But he played in a hurricane" NOT. The only reason SF held on to him one more year was to save a little face. That trade will go down in history as a Top 10 worst trades in the NFL.
  9. I am still having a hard time believing that one of our strengths going into the season was our offensive line and somehow losing Corbett they all became trash. Their explanation seems far more logical than our line going to garbage in one offseason. Here's the question someone should ask. So, with all the experimenting you did during the preseason did we learn anything? Did any of the experiments work?
  10. God forbid Young gets destroyed in a game. Dalton is too old and we are hitting the market for a scrub QB. Corral has the tools and he'll continue to grow even if he's 3rd QB. It makes zero sense to trade him or release him. Unless we get an insane offer.
  11. IMO this helps having Corral around. Young size is and always will be a concern. There isn't a LB or DE in this league that isn't going to miss a shot at lighting him up because he a smaller QB. The Kirk Cousin comparison is a good one. I think given reps Corral is going to be a solid backup and possible start one day. Whether with the Panthers or someone else.
  12. I think he would reconsider since currently he's unemployed. At the right price I think Hopkins would be a good fit for us. He's a veteran WR that would be great for Shenault as well as Mingo and TMJ.
  13. That is one of my preseason predicitions. Young wins OROY.
  14. WTF that's no improvement. Good God a second year QB should have at least 75% completion with 14 TDs and zero ints. What the hell.
  15. To me this looks like speculation. No where has it ever been mentioned about us looking to trade Corral. IMO trading Corral is a bad idea. 1 we wouldn't get much more than a 5th or 6th rounder out of him because he doesn't have much tape. 2. He's going to be a good QB once he gets some experience. 3. Dalton is old and injury prone. 4. It's too early to know if Young is going to survive the NFL. One or two nasty hits could be a problem and if we let Corral go we are right back where we started.
  16. Running backs have very little power. To think back in the Day Hurney paid JW and D'Will huge contracts. Today it ain't happening. You can find a good RB anywhere from the top of the draft to UDFA. We got a good deal on Sanders no need to fill a spot with another RB.
  17. I was shocked when I heard the news. I saw the presser on YouTube and Reich was saying he just wasn't a good fit for us. Said it several times. The only thing I can think of as to why him and now is to give him an opportunity with another team.
  18. Luton had one decent drive with a beautiful pass for a TD. But talking about lost. The final drive we had zero chance of coming back. His throws were terrible especially considering he's playing against bottom tier players. Corral had two scoring drives in the 2nd half. While he didn't throw a TD he did lead a FG and a TD. The hate this man gets is unbelievable.
  19. Well only knowing what the movie showed it appears that Mr. Oher is out of money and looking for a way to recoup money he thinks he is entitled to. We saw a young man roaming the streets and a white couple take him in and treat him as a son. They got him on the field and low and behold he's a monster LT. I think the it is going to be hard to convince the courts that they tricked him. It sounds more like they got him to sign the conservatory and now that he is out of money he's looking to get some of it. I see both side so whoever wins, so be it
  20. I believe that one of two incomplete passes that Young had. One of them was to Shenault but Shenault could not disengage from the defender. Here's a guy that's supposed to be a physical stud and can't disengage from a defender to make the catch. If he had disengaged and made the out cut. Young would have hit him on the numbers. A good pass but a bad route. I hope we figure out a way to get him the ball, but he has to work on being a better receiver and not just a gadget play player.
  21. This is a very good point. It doesn't excuse the O-line from looking so bad but evaluation over score seems to have been our direction and not the Jets.
  22. True With Young being so undersized the offensive line has to be top tier every season. We try to roll with the crap we've put out there during Cam's time we are going to get Young killed.
  23. Our starting line last year was pretty solid and I am having a hard time believing we regressed so much in one off season. Maybe they bought into the Koolaid that they were a solid group and didn't put a good effort out there. If the next preseason game we don't see major improvement than I am sure many will start heading towards the panic button. The O-LINE must be a priority every year with Young. We cannot nickel and dime hoping to find a diamond in the rough. We can't have Chandler or Bell or any other project out there. If we nickel and dime this line we just wasted another first round QB career.
  24. Two sides of a coin. We have many good pieces, and we have a lot of questions. IMO it could go either way. We were 7-10 last season with one of the worst QB rooms in the NFL and still were sniffing the playoffs in a lousy division. I think it all falls on the rookie QB. If he has a year like most rookies do, we'll be picking near the top of the draft or I should say Chicago will be. However, If he somehow puts himself into the rookie of the year conversation than anything is possible. I think the defense will be as advertised and keep us in many games. Young pulls a couple games out for us we can win the division and make the playoffs. This is definitely a pessimistic vs optimistic Thread.
