  1. Defense should be a priority but either draft one or get one in free agency. Trading away draft capital that might be with us for only 2 years isn't smart.
  2. Wasn't Raym a pretty good find as a UDFA. We must like his potential. Plus, what's the fuss. We have to get back to 90. Might as well sign guys we're familiar with.
  3. I don't think it is a coincidence that Young played much better behind a solid offensive line. I loved Morgan going out and getting two great guards.
  4. The offensive line is a critical position for Young's career. We can't expect him to carry the team like Cam did with an inferior line. Continuity is also important. Mays has shown he can handle the position. He's a drafted player so we had to have believed he had tools we need. I think he does. Keep Mays and continue to build the line through the draft and free agency.
  5. Zach Wilson would be an interesting free agent. Lots of tools and could learn behind Young.
  6. I did a mock draft or two and both of them had several good college QBs available in round 4. It might be worth a shot on a young quarterback that can learn DCs offense. Definitely needs to be an accurate passer.
  7. I saw where the talking heads think there will be plenty of mid to late round QBs available. I kind of like Rourke from Indiana.
  8. Andy Dalton is a free agent and getting long in the tooth. Who is your target for backup QB? Top 10 Free Agents Darnold - most likely to be re-signed by Minnesota Wilson - Will most likely be looking for a starting spot Fields - probably wants a starting gig but could be an interesting free agent Canales could work with Winston - really good or really bad Flacco - See Andy Dalton Brissett - OK backup, not much upside Rudolph - see Brissett Wentz - I'd be interested in see what Canales could do with him. Lance - wouldn't mind a third stringer under Canales to eventually be the backup. Played OK against Washington in final game. Probably will stay in Dallas DRAFT ????
  9. Obviously valid points on Morgan but I will wait another year or so before evaluating his moves. I think many of his moves were based on their ceiling than their immediate contribution. Leggett, Brooks, Wallace and Sander IMO could very well be core players after gaining some experience. I think 2025 Leggett, Wallace and Sanders are going to take big leaps in production especially now that Young seems to have some confidence. Just my take.
  10. Right now, we are competitive against most of the non-playoff teams. We're even competitive against some of the wildcard teams. If we can build this roster, get a solid defense, and add another weapon or two we could start beating the upper echelon teams. We showed, even with the worst defense in NFL history, that we hang in there with good teams. Clean up the blow-outs and this team might surprise a team or two next season.
  11. I think he is a QB whisperer. I think what he has done with Young in one season is nearly a miracle. Watching Stroud do so well last year and Young struggle so much was disheartening. Canales came in and it took all of OTA, Preseason and a benching for Young to finally get onboard with what Canales was teaching. As Young started to get more comfortable I saw new exciting plays being called and made. The exclamation point to me can when Young, following the designed play, executed it perfectly and threw a pass to Tremble and turned away before he even caught it. That's confidence and I expect him to continue to get more confidence going into 2025. Canales is a rookie head coach, and he made a lot of mistakes, especially early on but seemed to grow into the position and I like his direction and hope he continues to improve as a Head Coach and play caller.
  12. Getting Brown back is going to be a big plus for Evero. I still believe many of our defensive players that we signed were signed to complement Brown. Once Brown went down, we didn't have a legitimate backup to fill his role making those signed JAG. We need to address the D-Line with our first 2 picks. If Carter or Graham are available at 8 than we take him and address the other position with the round 2 pick. My hope is Graham drops to 8 and we take an Edge with round 2. From my understanding this is a good draft for Edge players. Morgan is going to have to do a great job fixing this problem. I expect us to be very active in D-Line help in Free Agency and the draft. We need studs to start and have solid, productive backups. Right now, our backup could barely start in the XFL. Our secondary would be much better if has some sort of consistent pressure on a QB.
  13. I love this throw. By was having a good time yesterday.
  14. Keep the highlights. The others can walk. UNRESTRICTED FREE AGENTS (21) QB Andy Dalton C Austin Corbett C Brady Christensen TE Tommy Tremble TE Ian Thomas TE Feleipe Franks WR David Moore RB Mike Boone DE DeShawn Williams OLB Cam Gill LB Shaq Thompson CB Mike Jackson CB Caleb Farley S Xavier Woods S Jordan Fuller S Nick Scott S Sam Franklin S Lonnie Johnson P Johnny Hekker K Eddy PiƱeiro LS JJ Jansen RESTRICTED FREE AGENTS (5) C Cade Mays WR Deven Thompkins RB Raheem Blackshear WR Velus Jones Jr. WR Dan Chisena EXCLUSIVE RIGHTS FREE AGENTS (2) DE LaBryan Ray LB Chandler Wooten
  15. Considering we had the most porus defenses in NFL history that's pretty impressive.
  16. Frazier maybe, Rivera or Wilks good or bad I don't think bringing coaches from our past will help. Rivera and Wilks do not have that killer instinct. I don't want to protect a lead through prevent defense. The only preventing it does is prevent us from winning. I was on board with keeping him until it was pointed out. The Lions probably lost more defensive starters than we did and yet they still managed to go 15-2. While we don't have the same depth. Allowing 200+ yards rushing the past 5 or 6 weeks is unexcuseable.
  17. I just did 3 simulations and of those three we either had Graham or Carter available at #8 in two of them. Obviously things may change drastically after free agency begins.
  18. Yes I'm disappointed we lost pick 6 but I am happier to see us knock Atlanta out of the playoffs. This draft might be the weakest draft in many years. At least the first round.
  19. Also saw where Gruden might be back coaching. He said it would be hard to resist a young QB like Williams in Chicago. Also might be a reunion for the NYJ and Rex Ryan.
  20. Bryce better be the offensive player of the week. Great game Panthers
  21. Zavala and Mays look good today too. I hope we win. It would be a shame to waste BY 5 TD day.
  22. You can see the confidence has improved greatly. He's having fun and doing a great job. It's fun watching Falcons fans pucker-up.
  23. You could possibly put part of his problems on the wretched lineup we had on the oline last year. He's definitely improved with a better group with him. At this point he's not elite but very serviceable. No need in going the Mike Remmer route.
