Official Week 18: Panthers @ Buccaneers Gameday Thread

The refs are going to nudge the game a little back Carolinas way to cover the spread. Panthers will lose by 1 or 2 -

If you would all like to write a group letter to the NFL, AI analysis has made it clear how unfair the NFL has become, or always has been. It was clear the NFL needed Tampa to win this game, for ratings of tomorrow’s Saints/Falcons game and because the Panthers are not an appealing playoff opponent. But this was even more obvious than I expected. -
The Tampa/Carolina game was clearly going to be managed towards a Tampa victory due to giving a ratings boost to the Falcons/Saints game and keeping a poor ratings Panthers team out of the playoffs. The refereeing has been consistent with what I expected and I think it would be worth taking stock that the NFL is an entertainment business. They have no legal obligation to provide fair outcomes. I warned everyone here how much worse it has gotten since sports betting apps became the norm, and here we are.

The sad thing is this team is getting dog dicked today and might still host a playoff game. I think that might finally be enough for the NFL to change the rules on division winners. No one wants to watch this Panthers team in the playoffs including many Panthers fans not wanting to see this team get raped by an NFC West team -

Bucs will be getting all the ref help today. The NFL wants that Falcons/Saints game to have viewers. Bucs 24 Panthers 23, Panthers cover the spread and Vegas makes a killing, NFL gets another higher viewership game in the NFCS tomorrow -
Rams 100%. Stafford looks old and/or hurt right now. Seahawks have always had the Panthers number. Panthers kinda historically own the Rams.

Re-sign Dowdle for one more year and then draft Mark Fletcher Jr in 2027
-
Title says it all, if you could get swap Jaycee Horn for Brian Burns would you do it?
-
Mike Jackson has really been great this season for as many targets as he gets. Horn is inconsistent

I disagree. I don’t see how losing to Tampa in the final week would help anything. It would leave a sour taste going into the offseason. Even if they get blown out in the playoffs the confidence boost of just getting there would benefit the development of some of the younger players who will be here for the future. If they fold in the final game, it’s just going to deflate the team morale next year, especially if Bryce is the reason they lose.
-
The common denominator is Bryce. They have a QB who physically cannot see the field. That’s why he’s so much better when he scrambles out of the pocket, he can see the receivers.
-
Outside of McMillian and Dowdle they didn’t upgrade a single thing. And Dowdle sure as hell won’t be on the roster next year unfortunately
-
I think we all know deep down that Tampa will win next week.

If it was Tampa at home and they already beat Tampa on the road, I would say I agree. Bryce has had one good game on the road this season. -

Of those 450 yards he had in that game, I seem to recall like almost 300 were yards after the catch. Also I genuinely believe Bryce cannot see the field and he throws blind most of the time. -

Seattle has a good defense but their offense made enough mistakes that they should have won. The offense couldn’t make them pay just like the 49ers game. Defense forced two turnovers and all the offense could do was kick a field goal and fumble. I get the defense had some bad missed tackles and an inexcusable penalty but they did enough to give the team a chance to win. The offense did ZERO. It’s games like this where Bryce doesn’t have the next level talent to carry the team. If the Panthers don’t realize they need to at least challenge Bryce to earn his job, we’re gonna be back to the mediocrity David Tepper said he wouldn’t tolerate. Which means we’re probably heading back to the bottom of the NFL soon. -
Smash that

Have a backup option available because we all know it’s going to be an excruciating loss.

Reminds me of when Teddy Asswater had burner accounts going by his middle name
