  1. Huge run on WR's helped us last night. Need that run to continue early in the second to make Robby more appealing. WR is a high priority position, and the contracts over the last 2 years show it. Teams with QBs that are getting paid are trying to balance both positions, and it seems teams are tired of dealing with high paid divas. There's a possibility Robby could have more value than we think by the middle of the second round tonight.
  2. Luke Easterling @LukeEasterling · 5m Report: Bucs getting trade calls for No. 33 overall pick
  3. Natalie Miller @Nat_NFLDraft · 1h Not that this is shocking or anything, but Carolina will almost certainly explore a trade up into the 2nd or 3rd rounds to nab one of these QBs. They like Corral, WIllis, Ridder, and Howell, so their options are open.
  4. Adam Schefter @AdamSchefter · 1h Raiders declined the fifth-year contract options on all three former 2019 first-round draft picks, DE Clelin Ferrell, RB Josh Jacobs and S Johnathan Abram.
  5. remember that we had a second round grade on Brady as a guard (3rd as tackle) and now he has a year in our strength program. Moton is proven. We just need our new free agents to be better, and get a long term start at center and guard in the next two years, and we're set for the future. We can hope to draft a QB this year by moving up, but remember that next year is a better year for the draft at that position, but we are also suddenly much more appealing to free agents with a good line, CMC and DJ.
  6. I did. I'm a few years older than you. At the time, I also was wondering why Mel Kiper's opinion carried so much weight. Had never heard of him.
  7. other than reddit, is there another Hornets forum that gets trafficked?
  8. it's a low bar, but he's the best GM we've had. I love the potential he gets from the 2nd round. Previously I had just considered 2nd rounders lucky to make the team. Now we have some who are contributing.
  9. damn good post, thanks. actually, this should have it's own thread.
  10. At The Hive @At_The_Hive · 28m JB also seemed to feel like his job status was tenuous. His exit interview consisted of a lot of resume-defending stats that were largely unprompted.
  11. well at least we'll have a more interesting off season.
  12. gonna pull for that guy no matter what team he goes to. What a great smile.
  13. Mel and the other guy alternate picks for 3 rounds. Of course, we'll be done early. First three picks were DE's Hutchinson, Travon Walker and Thibodeauxt, with CB Gardner going 4th. Giants too Ikem. Mel picked for us and went.... Malik Willis.
  14. he's a fast tough little guy, good kid too. I'd like for him to get a chance.
  15. he sure is...I scrolled too fast, thought both pics were of Ikem.
  16. hey Verge, always appreciate your insight. You didn't mention Neal. Is that because it is assumed he won't be there, or did we see something we didn't like?
  17. After a disappointing first season in Los Angeles, it may seem like the Lakers would take whatever they can get in a trade this offseason for Russell Westbrook and his $47MM+ salary, but that’s not the case, Marc Stein writes at Substack.com. According to Stein, Los Angeles will have “more boundaries than advertised” when weighing potential Westbrook deals. For one, the Lakers will seriously consider a player’s injury history as they explore the trade market for Westbrook. Given how costly injuries to LeBron James and Anthony Davis were in 2021/22, the team doesn’t want to bring on another high-priced veteran who has been unable to stay healthy in recent years. In Stein’s view, that means the Lakers are unlikely to be very interested in a trade with the Hornets that includes Gordon Hayward, who has missed 61 of 154 regular season games in Charlotte over the last two years, plus both play-in games. If the Lakers and Hornets discuss Westbrook, it’s possible Hayward could be moved to a third team or Terry Rozier could be substituted as a headliner, but those scenarios would be less appealing from Charlotte’s perspective. https://www.hoopsrumors.com/charlotte-hornets
  18. does anyone know if there is a decent big man coming out? I think I'd rather trade both picks or a pick plus Gordon to get a proved post player.
  19. Hornets get the 15th pick if New Orleans wins tonight
  20. https://nba.nbcsports.com/2022/04/14/rumor-hornets-forward-gordon-hayward-wants-change-of-scenery/ Gordon Hayward chose the Hornets as a 2020 free agent because they offered him $120 million, of course. But the Celtics and Pacers reportedly offered big contracts, too. A key differentiator for Charlotte: Hayward getting the opportunity to be the go-to player and maximize his on-court contributions. But LaMelo Ball has rapidly developed into stardom. Miles Bridges expanded his offensive game this season. Even Terry Rozier has taken strides in a larger role.
