2026 NFL Combine Thread: 2.26.26 - 3.1.26
Captain Morgan replied to Soul Rebel's topic in Carolina Panthers
Sam Bruchhaus @sambruchhaus · Feb 25 WHAT IM HEARING AT THE COMBINE - DAY 2: * Ty Simpson is the runaway QB2, and might go as high as the mid-first round. * A second school of thought has emerged: Caleb Downs could be Edgar Salmingo, Jr. ✌ @PanthersAnalyst · 17h Ty Simpson's stock rising would greatly benefit the #Panthers 1) If he goes ahead of Carolina, a player they want has a better chance of falling to them 2) Teams might be interested in trading for their 19th overall pick -

[Matt Miller] At 30 7/8" and 30 1/4" arm length, Rueben Bain and Cashius Howell would have the shortest arms for an EDGE rusher drafted in the first round since at least 1999. -

Solak at ESPN ranks the best available FAs, good and bad for us. 1. Edge rusher Good year to need ... any sort of edge rusher at all (that's us) Bad year to need ... a truly elite dude (unless you'd like to send two first-rounders for Maxx Crosby) 2. Interior offensive line Good year to need ... a guard (we have our guards) Bad year to need ... a really big center (we need a center) 6. Linebacker Good year to need ... a difference-maker Bad year to need ... a difference-maker and not have a top-10 pick 7. Offensive tackle Good year to need ... a starter for 2027 Bad year to need ... a starter for 2026 (looks like Nijman for us) https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/47958363/2026-nfl-offseason-ranking-positions-free-agency-draft-class-deep-thin

Also, Senior Bowl is this Saturday. I remember a couple of years ago I watched the Senior or Shrine Bowl, and there was one guy who really stood out that wanted the Panthers to get. We drafted Bryce and Mingo in the first 2 rounds, DJ Johnson in the 3rd, Zavala in the 4th and Jammie Robertson, who I don't think even made the roster. With the last pick of the 5th rd, the Rams took that player I liked. It was Puka. Panthers gonna Panther

good post...like signing a LB a lot, plus draft one. If we can get a real TE I'm for it. Not a great year for edge in FA or the draft imho. Get some depth and let the sophs get experience, hopefully better hunting next year.

iirc they sent 2 picks to the the Saints for this guy, indicating to me they will give him a longer deal. However, it would be fun to watch the Saints fans when they hear we got him.

CHARLOTTE — Greg Olsen has played in plenty of big games for the Panthers, and called more in his work as a broadcaster. Sunday, he gets to do something new — watch from the seats. After calling tonight's Philadelphia-Washington game for FOX, he's coming home to be recognized as the Legend of the Game for Sunday's critical Panthers-Buccaneers game, and will hit the Keep Pounding drum heading into the fourth quarter. https://x.com/daringantt/status/2002489005146058814
