  1. Bulls lost, so we're officially in the post season. but another injury. Charlotte Hornets PR @HornetsPR · 5h INJURY UPDATE: @hornets vs LAC 5/13 Bridges (Health & Safety Protocols) out Hayward (R Foot Sprain) out Cody Martin (L Ankle Sprain) out Charlotte Hornets PR @HornetsPR · 1h UPDATE: @hornets reserve Caleb Martin (L Thumb Dislocation) has been added to the injury report as questionable for tomorrow's game #AllFly
  2. the worst 4-0 NFL team ever (not including 2015)
  3. according to NBC's Thor Nystrom. He liked the NFC South... Falcons ranked 1st and Saints ranked 5th. 7. Carolina Panthers Name Rk Pos Ht Wt RAS Comp David Moore 176 iOL18 6'2 330 6.82 Parker Collins Paddy Fisher 241 LB27 6'3 240 3.36 Jack Cichy Spencer Brown 262 RB20 5'11 208 4.89 Spencer Ware Peyton Ramsey 307 QB15 6'2 215 4.2 Nathan Peterman Mason Stokke 343 FB4 6'2 242 6.15 Anthony Firkser Kavika Fonua X S44 5'11 197 6.88 --- Oscar Draguicevich III X P8 5'9 188 --- --- The Panthers’ UDFA class was very much like Matt Rhule and company’s first two drafts -- highly focused on infrastructure. What this seven-man group (six, if you don’t count Fonua, who only got a tryout) lacks in depth, it makes up for at the top with prospects who have a legitimate shot to crack the roster and contribute one day. Carolina left the draft with the offensive line still a need area, and thus did well to agree to terms with David Moore, who tied for No. 12 in the UDFA class with $125k in guarantees. You can think of the top-32 UDFA guarantees sort of like Round 8 of the NFL Draft. If Roger Goodell had gotten drunk and nostalgic on Saturday night and extended the draft a round so he could emcee the final 32 picks from his basement like the good old days, I would have applauded the Panthers popping Moore with their pick and called it a steal at an area of need. Discounted by NFL because of small-school background and sawed-off frame. But Moore has long arms to negate length concerns. He's also a strong athlete that plays ticked off. Rhule's gonna love him. After that, the Panthers grabbed unathletic tackle machine LB Paddy Fisher, who will basically give you 90% of Chiefs second-rounder Nick Bolton’s skillset. I’m a big fan of UAB RB Spencer Brown -- to stick with the percentage thing, "The Moose" is about 90% of 2020 Packers’ second-round pick AJ Dillon, offering the same skills in a less-athletic package (I thought Brown's 49th-percentile RAS composite would push him over the hump to get drafted, but no dice). Peyton Ramsey seems like a jolly lad to have on the practice squad soaking up Joe Brady’s offense for a few years. Meanwhile, I’d be more intrigued by the addition of Wisconsin FB Mason Stokke -- one of the class’ best fullbacks, and a signing that otherwise had Alec Ingold potential -- had the Panthers not taken Tommy Tremble in R3. I’m not sure there will be another open roster spot for a blocker.
  4. got within 3 but couldn't hit the shots. Pacers are losing at the half, so that helps. We win tonight (we won't) or a Bulls loss, we are in the play ins. We just have to win one more to guarantee a spot in the post season in the Bulls win.
  5. Kyle Bailey @KyleBaileyClub · 39m Devonte is 15th in the entire NBA in Real Plus-Minus (and obviously tops for the @Hornets ). Sandwiched right between Kevin Durant and CJ McCollum. He might not have LaMelo’s ceiling, but he’s a dude you want on your team.
  6. Melo doesn't have his shot back yet. Even missing free throws badly.
  7. Borrego gets tossed! This game gettin' testy. Melo and Campazzo have been at it a little.
  8. Hornets give up a basket at the very end and trail by 3 at the half. Gotta love the fight in these guys. At The Hive @At_The_Hive · 4m Would really like to see Zeller dominate the center minutes in the second half. He's been playing really well lately. Hornets are +17 with him on the court, -20 with Biz on tonight.
  9. but now Jokic is back in the game.
  10. Hornets got blown out early, down 21 at one point. Jalen kept us in the game, then Devonta, Malik and Cody give us a boost. Terry finally gets hot, and the deficit is cut to 5.
  11. Charlotte Hornets PR @HornetsPR · May 10 INJURY UPDATE: @hornets vs. DEN 5/11 Miles Bridges (Health & Safety Protocols) out Gordon Hayward (R Foot Sprain) out Cody Martin (L Ankle Sprain) out Devonte' Graham (R Knee Discomfort) questionable Charlotte Hornets PR @HornetsPR · 12m UPDATE: Devonte' Graham (R Knee Discomfort) listed as questionable has been upgraded and will be available to play
  12. Falcons will have a home game in London, I'm sure it's not our game though. Jaguars will host another.
  13. Baseball games are a lot more fun to watch in person instead of on tv. Went to a few Braves games in my lifetime, and loved the experience. Wasn't a Braves fan. One time the Cardinals were in town (late 80s), and my boss was from St. Louis, so we drove down for the game (he drove, I made sure the beer didn't melt all the ice in the cooler.) We were walking around the stadium and found a door without a knob or handle on our side that didn't close all the way, so we decided to investigate. Found ourselves on a private level and soon found what I guess was the office of the Braves, or the broadcast facilities anyway. For some reason we went in. We could see the cameras for TBS There was a security guy, and my boss said "hey we work at the Cardinals radio affiliate in some town, and Jack Buck (the Cardinals legendary announcer, and father of Joe) said any time we're in town to come by and say hi." Security guy looks at his clipboard and says "You're not on the list. But I'll check." A few minutes later, he came back and said "follow me." We were escorted by the tv crew to the radio booth, and got to stand behind Jack and the color guy while they finished calling the inning. They were treated like royalty, with the Braves bringing in ice cream and all kind of stuff for the visiting announcers. During the commercial, he turned around, shook our hands and told us we had to go now. We did, but now we had to find our way off of this secret level, and we're walking along this level with no one else on it, when one guy is walking towards us. My boss, wearing a Cardinals hat, says "that's Ted Turner." I was wearing a Cincy hat. I looked up and sure enough, there he was, striding towards us. As he passed, he looked at our caps and said "come on, guys, this is Atlanta." We said some unintelligible things and found our way back to our seats. Good times.
  14. wonder if putting it somewhere on the west side of the Triangle, with easier access from the Triad would work. Would love to see it anywhere in NC.
  15. should be a playoff game atmosphere tonight. "With four games left in the regular season, the Charlotte Hornets host the Denver Nuggets in a game that may decide whether it takes one win or two to advance to the playoffs. The Hornets are hanging on to a razor thin lead over the Indian Pacers and Washington Wizards for the 8th seed in the Eastern Conference. The seventh and eighth place teams only need one win to make the playoffs versus two wins for the ninth and tenth, so there’s a considerable amount, for which, to play. The Nuggets come into the Spectrum Center dealing with their own interesting play-in scenario. They are in 4th place in the West, one game back from the L.A. Clippers." https://www.atthehive.com/2021/5/11/22430876/preview-nuggets-and-hornets-vie-for-playoff-position-in-charlotte
  16. We'll make the playoffs, but we'll have to do the play in mini tourney, and if we get healthy, we can move on. I read over the weekend some folks were saying the team they don't want to catch is the Hornets. We just have to get healthy. All teams deal with injuries, but we've been hit hard. If we get everyone back, we can make noise, but this team won't beat the "big 3" in our conference. We don't have the front court. Get some playoff experience, and head into the off season looking for a center. For the first time since the new Hornets came into existence, we have building blocks, and hope for a nice long run of being a contender. Enjoy the ride.
  17. man I'm starting to get seriously concerned about Melo becoming permanently scarred by all these amazing passes to Bismack that get dropped and picked up by the other team
  18. of course they hit a 65 footer at the end of the 1st. We need Miles back fast.
  19. freakin PJ opens up 0-8, half of them at the rim. Melo needs to shoot more. I know he's been in a bit of a slump, but he hit his first shot (a 3) and he's playing against his brother, which I think will give him the boost to get his scoring back on track.
  20. Charlotte Hornets PR @HornetsPR · 27m UPDATE: @hornets guard Malik Monk (R Ankle Soreness) has been added to the report as questionable for tonight's game vs. NOP
  21. as long as there ain't no loco cinco after that...
  22. however, the Ball brothers will both be playing. in case you didn't see this a few months ago, here's the first time Melo broke his brother's ankles.
