obviously my avatar shows how much I hate the Saints. They have choked out, and I'll be changing my avatar soon as they settle into the irrelevance they are used to. But I'll give Drew his proper respect. He was good, and better than most of the best. It would have been a lot more fun watching him if he wasn't a Saint, but he was still fun to watch.

good to know we have this kind of game in us. Learn to keep the peddle down, and get ready for bigger things.

wish we'd won more handily against the last place team in our division, but we're a young team coming off the break, and a win is a win. On to Sunday against the Raptors.

Captain Morgan replied to raleigh-panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
David Newton @DNewtonespn · 52m So how interested are the Panthers in North Dakota State QB Trey Lance? Head coach Matt Rhule, GM Scott Fitterer, and OC Joe Brady are among those attending his Pro Day today. Look for similar attendance at Ohio State's Pro Day for Justin Fields -

Patriots coming to Charlotte this year. -
back in action finally. Hornets are healthy and were up by close to 20 in the first half, but let the lead dwindle. Still up by double digits in the 2nd.

Thank you guys. Hope to see you around town.

Efe is interviewed by a couple of Englishter sports guys. He's pretty funny and very humble. Love how he gives credit to team sacks and the secondary. Also pretty funny when they point out he got all the old guys, and he says the younger ones are faster.

somewhat related, Butler just took a pay cut to avoid being released. -
From what I've read the Panthers will be getting a 5th and a 6th.

Teddy Bridgewater likely on the outs in Carolina

guessing that would be our comp pick. If it happens, looks like we'd get him for one year for 8.5 mill. Eagles eat 4.2 mill this year in dead money and 3.4 mill over the next 4. Sounds worth it to see if he can still produce.

if Ertz starts following Bojangles, we'll know he is inbound. It's like Waffle House Index for the Panthers.

It was a fifth. That may have been the pick we used to move up and draft Chinn. -

Chad Reuter’s mock has us taking Fields
Captain Morgan replied to JawnyBlaze's topic in Carolina Panthers
If we get Justin at 8 without giving anything up, that would be fantastic. I just don't see him falling that far. Even if no one in front of us wants him, someone else will trade up. -
something to keep in mind. Let's say we end up drafting a QB and now we have all this cap room. We can afford to spend big on a long term Left Tackle. But do we really want to sink so much in both positions? 30 to 35 million a year on LT and RT? We could do it with a QB on a rookie contract. I could be talked into it. It gives us 4 years to get someone else on the roster. Speeds up the rebuild to win now pretty fast. But it might be a good idea to tag Moton, sign the left tackle long term, and then draft RT this year or early next for a strong affordable line long term.

from the article... The Celtics and Hornets are among teams interested in Magic two-time All-Star Nikola Vucevic, sources said. Rival teams expect that any haul for Vucevic would have to be massive. The 7-foot big man is having his best NBA season, averaging 24.5 points, 11.7 rebounds and 3.7 assists while shooting 41.8 percent from 3-point range. Vucevic has spent nine of his 10 NBA seasons in Orlando. https://theathletic.com/2425373/2021/03/04/nba-trade-news-rumors-blake-griffin-p-j-tucker-andre-drummond-shams/
