  1. An anonymous NFL GM is estimating that somewhere within five years, the league will allow weed. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2447390-nfl-gm-believes-30-to-40-percent-of-2015-draft-class-smoke-marijuana-regularly I am somewhat skeptical, as the league seems hypersensitive to public pressure, and I could also see goody two-shoes congressmen trying to be a hindrance. But, I am all for it, not just for the NFL, but for everyone. Free weed! Now I don't smoke, but I don't see how you booze can be legal, and pot can't. I am sure that Goodell would earn some brownie points (maybe even the kind that Bacarri Rambo ate) if he gets the NFL to allow pot. As of now, I guess teams will continue feigning public disappointment and/or outrage.
  2. This Joe Menzer fella has put out a couple of nice pieces that speak to the pulse of Gettleman.
  3. You're talking about the NCAA's all-time leading pass catcher. Hardy has better hands than Brown. He is a willing and better blocker. And, most importantly, he is an infinitely better route runner that knows how to create separation which results in nice YAC. Brown, not so much. There is a reason why Hardy will likely be drafted in round 3 or 4, and Brown went undrafted altogether.
  4. I like this draft. Actually, I would love this draft provided that we pick up another receiver like Josh Harper, Dezmin Lewis, or Deandre Smelter later. It would even be better if we would add Clayton Geathers, Ray Drew, Senquez Golson or Damian Swann also.
  5. Hardy will be long gone by the 5th, and a receiver with good route running, hands, and ability to get separation and move the chains fits any offense.
  6. My goodness! The presumptuousness of some Huddlers is ludicrous. Really, people.
  7. Gettleman has proven that he knows what to do with our higher round draft picks. Until he proves otherwise, I don't see why anyone would get angry or disappointed. He knows and sees more than anyone one of us about football and team building. He is the one with the bigger picture and plan. This is not a case of fool me one, twice, or even three times. He has done enough to earn your trust so far. If people are angered or disappointed, particularly before they see the result of a particular pick, then it's simply because they want to be.
  8. His hands are average according to scouting reports, but that's not necessarily a bad thing.
  9. L O L Not gonna happen...at least not like that. If we pick Smith with some of these other guys on the board, I will need a chin strap on Thursday because my jaw will hit the floor, and probably stay that way for hours. Can't be dragging my chin on the floor.
  10. In the "guess what's gonna happen" thread, for lack of a better term, I have us picking Shane Ray. Gman is not passing up on a potentially great pass rusher with a high motor, provided his toe prognosis is good.
  11. I don't think that Gman would pass up on Ray.
  12. What is the history of accuracy of this thing? Why are y'all so interested? Don't answer that. It has to be a way to kill some time before the real thing.
  13. Actually, Harper improved his 40 time to 4.48 at his pro day.
  14. Go look up Fresno St. WR, Josh Harper. He patterns his game after Antonio Brown (who was drafted in the 6th) Don't get me he needs some work, particularly at blocking, but there is definitely some potential there. He is not the biggest at 6'1" and 190-195 lbs, nor is he the fastest with a 4.52 40 time, but dude is hella quick and gets up to full speed in an instant. His quickness, hands and YAC ability cannot be denied. He has the confidence too, as he respects Davante Adams but says he can be better than his old teammate.
  15. Sorry you feel that way. Theatre has to condense many of life's issues in order to meet time constraints, so in real life problems are not solved by "daddy talks" in 20 minutes, but they may be solved by many "daddy and mommy" talks over time. Nothing is 100 percent, and children will have to learn things on their own, but the fundamentals of common decency, courtesy and respect can be learned by most children when they are young.
  16. Which is what a lot of people don't realize apparently. In these instances, the bench trial is essentially a test as to whether or not there is enough evidence for it to be considered by a jury, not saying that the judge doesn't believe the defendant isn't guilty. As for judges being super smart, they are. Some of them are too smart for their own good. I was in law school for roughly a year before I decided that it wasn't my cup of tea (yeah that year cost me a lot of unnecessary money). There was a saying that A students were future professors, the B students future judges, and the C students your average lawyer.
  17. He called Hardy a "wife beater". LOL I guess he didn't think that was too funny.
  18. For me, the fact that Hardy is a pro football player really doesn't have anything to do with it. History of both the parties involved, and the nebulous facts of the circumstances are more important to me. I understand why you would take a judge's point of view, or the NFL's point of view, but forgive me if I don't particularly trust either. I am sure that due to my life experience, I see things from a whole different perspective than many of you. Just like Hardy loses your benefit of doubt, I have doubt about Nicole Holder. I don't see how anyone doesn't have some doubt about both parties, but that's just me. That being the case, I am not going to view Hardy as the devil, and Holder as an angel. As far as run-ins with the law, Holder had a history prior to the incident, and I don't believe that Hardy did. I think that you can chalk the entire situation up to stupidity. By the way, it would be highly unlikely that the Panthers viewed anything as any pics were always officially property of the court. Both the NFL, court officials and the Panthers would have had to break the law.
