I say 10-7. I think Darnald wins those 4 games Teddy Bear couldn't.

Hang on there grasshopper. IIRC, Teddy won 4 games, and PJ won 1. Add in teh 4 you say Sam can win. And Viola, 9 wins. I know math be hard. So Imma give you a pass. lol

    But, we demand answers.

  2. 1. If Sam plays poorly. Well, TBH, I don't see that happening. So Imma pass on this one.

    2. If Sam plays decent. I think 8-9 would be about right.

    3. If Sam plays well. 10-12 wins sounds good.

    4. If Sam plays great. Oh Wee Mayne.

Any offensive production Tommyknocker provides, in my own personal opinion, would be a bonus or bailout.

I don’t need him to be anything other than what he’s shown to be, a devastating blocker and all around enforcer.

Not since Smitty have we had a firebrand.  I want this dude to be mean as a rattle snake and twice as deadly.

Put that backer on his ass, Tommy.

I hear what you're putting down. But man, if he can be a threat in teh passing game? Just think what that adds!!

And yeah to him spreading that attitude to his teammates. More dogs win more fights.

I don't know about that. If Darnold flops while Fields and/or Jones have success, this staff might be on thinner ice than we think. I'd be willing to bet they'd be on their last swing at QB. If their next one fails while we're still struggling in the W-L column Tepper would probably be wise to move on.

Let's examine what was actually said. "If Darnold doesn't pan out this coaching staff might not even be around to try to find the next QB."

    Boom, gone. Just like that.

You say they  are on thin ice. Which is not the same. Then add, or probably need to move on. Which is the same. So which way are you leaning?

This team was bereft of talent just two short years ago. We now have a nice core of young talent. But yeah, let's jettison the Coach after two years. All because a few (I say few, because there are very few) fans are not happy with how the QB position has worked out.

IMO, When this team has improved so dramatically. It is silly to even hold forth the idea we would drop a Coach after two years.

His first camp?? The man been in the league for 3 years already. Blame the Jets all you want, like we’re some first class organization that has a history of building around QBs LOL.

Don’t be mad at me ability to see the storm before the rain hits my head.

Unless there's some other reason they didn't pick Fields (scouts knew something about him the public didn't), you have to throw resources at the QB position until you find your guy. QB is so much higher value than CB it's not even close. If Darnold doesn't pan out this coaching staff might not even be around to try to find the next QB.

Exactly, pass rushers are by far one of the most important positions in the game and we will have to pay Burns in a couple years.  I would also love keeping DJ Moore.  He’s performed so well with trash at QB, this guy can be a league leader in stats with better QB play.

We’ve been laughably bad at retaining quality homegrown talent, so I’m a believer that the Moton deal was a sign of good things to come.

We have also been laughably bad at saving money. We pain Moton, and still have money.

We used to spend every dime we had. Never had Cap Space. So we had to let some players walk. So far, it looks like this regime has a handle on that. So far at least. Maybe, just maybe, we can start keeping some of our home grown talent. Wouldn't that be nice?

I found this place back in mid 00's using PFT as my football news aggregate. They would link relevant team/fan sites where you could find articles or forums such as this.

Lurked a good while before even making a profile.  How the times have changed since then.....

I found this place after the Observer crashed. Spent a lot of time lurking. Once I dipped my foot in, that was all she wrote.

Some days, this place is hopping. Other days, it is dead as the wife's sex drive. lol (Just a joke dear) But when it is going, it can be as fun as anything out there. It is the first place I look for Panther news. Thankfully there are plenty of Huddlerz who like to post nuggets. So we all win in the end.

Edit to add; It is funny how some threads thrive, and others die. No rhyme or reason on that. Or at least that is how it seems sometimes.

It like some play action with faking faking the fake handoff.

I tell ya what. If the Zone Blocking scheme we are going to works? The running game should flourish. And if the running game flourishes, the Play Action should work. If the Play Action works. The whole Offense should work.

    Works for me. lol

I don't know what it was. I think it may have just been as simple as bad info. One analyst with a good rep got a bad tip and everyone else just ran with it. I mean, if you're the Niners you're not gonna go out of your way to correct it. I just don't see how anyone with knowledge of what Shanny likes in QBs ever bought the Jones talk. Shanny loves mobile QBs.

The 9ers were playing 5D chess, and it worked. Whether by design, or by accident. It worked. Although, in hindsight, as you said, Shanny likes mobile QBs. Jones does not fit that by any measure.

I've seen some compare him to George Kittle coming out of college. Yeah, that'll work for me.

I think that comparison is for future reference. If he can turn into a pass catching, blocking machine? Yeah, that's the ticket. He has the blocking down. And he is working on the receiving part. Something tells me, this kid isn't used to failing.

    7. Carolina Panthers

    2020 rank: 5  2019 rank: 22

The Panthers rued the absence of their biggest star last season, as running back Christian McCaffrey reminded us to be cautious about using even a spotless health record to predict future availability. After playing nearly every snap in 2019, CMC missed 13 games with ankle, shoulder and quad injuries. Like Michael Thomas, it's always good to wait and see a player recover from a high ankle sprain before counting on them to return to their prior level of play. It should be telling that McCaffrey missed virtually an entire season and is still the consensus first overall pick in fantasy drafts. There's nobody in the league like a healthy McCaffrey.

If McCaffrey comes back strong, few teams can boast a big three quite as impressive as that of McCaffrey and wideouts Robby Anderson and DJ Moore. Anderson reunites with an old teammate in Sam Darnold, and while Moore's 2020 season might not have been as productive as hoped, consider that he averaged more than 10 yards per target and didn't fumble after six of them across the prior two seasons. Positive touchdown regression toward the mean will come for Moore, who has only 10 scores on 208 catches over his first three seasons.

@SBBlue, and @ladypantherAsk and ye shall receive.

Although, that has us at 5, not 7. So...Um, nice?

Edit to add. Oopsy. That is 2020, not for this year. Or is it?

He's basically the exact opposite of the typical college TE these days. Most are basically jumbo slot receivers who are going to have to learn to block and play inline. This guy is ready to go as a blocker and needs to improve his receiving skills. Between him and Arnold we should have a good balanced combo.

Man, if all the work TT is putting in on his hands, works. He is going to be a handful. It would make us an even scarier Offense. And that is one scary thought for opposing DCs.

Almost makes you wonder if the Niners leaked it to keep the Jets or another team trading up to 2 from looking too hard into Lance. Seemed unnecessary, but who knows….

I know there is an awful lot of misdirection surrounding the draft. But a double blind bluff? That is some 7D chess kinda thinking. lol

  14. 5 minutes ago, Toomers said:

Sure. Any time you want to test it out we can do it. I can also show how you reAlly have only one opinion. Team is right, attack anyone who says otherwise. For a team that is 3-21 in the 2nd half of the last 3 seasons. How correct were you?

Where do you want to start?

How about you apologize to @ellis? But we both know that ain't happening. See, I can see the future too. You treated @ellisbadly. Do something about that. And I will bow to your God like abilities.

Honestly, I only posted that to see if anyone even remembers that far back.  Jimmy rustlin' was a proud tradition back in the day.

Hellz, it's been a long time since I've heard it as well. I wonder how many of us do remember?

Gives me a wonder. I wonder what the avg. age of Huddlerz would be? I know there are more than a few of us "Old Timers" up in here.

Why not? You made up your own version of reality so many times on here, it’s just become instinct at this point. Telling me I was right is being gracious, but he went to the trouble of running the numbers again which is where the 47th ranked edge rusher “cash spent number. Was that gracious too? Again, where is this apology I made him say? Where? Those are your words.

You just can’t handle two people having an adult conversation and working things out. You want me to be wrong so bad it killing you.

CMC has a 6.9M salary this year because it’s restructured(like Reddick) if he puts up 7M worth of production, is that a good thing? Or do you still consider him the highest paid RB ever and judge him with all the guaranteed money that got kicked down the road.

lol It just doesn't compute for you does it?

    Edit for double post: oopsy

If he turns into any sort of receiver. Man, just another quiver in our...arrow holder. lol
