I missed it. I turned the channel after Kirk Herbstreit said "the CFP should be the twelve best teams, and who knows, maybe Tulane and James Madison will prove to be one of those". Hahaha. Bunch of bitch-made talking heads scared to say what they really think. I want to see what McAfee says tomorrow. He's made his whole skyrocket rise by bucking the system, he should have the head of the CFP on tomorrow and just destroy the whole process. Saban was the only one who spoke up that Tulane and James Madison shouldn't be in, imagine what he would've said on air if Bama had been left out.
-
As I tell my team at work, "hope isn't a strategy".
-
The whole process is bullshit. Notre Dame was "better" than Miami 6 days ago, nothing change for those two teams, and now Miami is "better". Alabama gets whipped in the conference title game, stays put. Ohio State barely loses their conference title game, drops a spot and now gets Georgia in the semis instead of Texas Tech. Wouldn't have mattered, but BYU also dropped a spot after losing in the same fashion Alabama did. Bama is lucky Saban works for ESPN. Ole Miss already beat the brakes off of Tulane. James Madison's team watch party looks like a scene from Wolf Of Wall Street with all the 5'10 white guys in there. I'll set the combined spread for Oregon and Ole Miss at -62.5.
-
Dear Oregon and Ole Miss, Please beat the dogpiss out of James Madison and Tulane (again for Ole Miss), so the CFP can change this rule and stop this mockery of letting these junior varsity teams in the CFP. Sincerely Yours, Football Fans

Va Tech fires Brent Pry in September and then Franklin hires him back as DC this weekend. What a weird, ironic, confusing situation.

So now what..... If Championship Games shouldn't hurt your ranking, Ohio State should still be #1 tomorrow, right? If you drop Ohio State tomorrow for losing as close a game as possible, then you have to drop Alabama as well for getting blown out. If you don't drop Alabama tomorrow, then you can't drop Ohio State. If you drop them both, Alabama lost @ Florida State, Miami won @ Florida State, Miami should be in. I love that literally no matter what the CFP does tomorrow, they are completely f*cked, and you can easily punch holes in ANY rankings they put out. Bunch of clowns, deserve to be blasted.

Agree, kinda. The bigger "cupcake" move was the soft defense that gave up three huge runs consecutively in overtime for Duke to score a TD.
-
Thank goodness. My halftime Over bet flatlined three times in the 4th. Now watch Dook kick a FG in OT and UVa miss theirs to bust me up. Haha.
-
Of course they are, you think ACC refs are going to let the ACC have ZERO teams in the CFP?
-
This by rule CAN'T happen. JMU is in as the 5th highest ranked conference champion.
-
How? They swallowed their whistles on a clear pass interference on Duke during UVa's last drive?
-
I hope the Panthers win the Super Bowl this year and then go 0-17 in 2026 so we can get Jeremiah Smith. Homeboy is unbelievable.
-
Is this your first ACC game, welcome to the conference. Kidding, but yea, this league has been an inconsistent joke all season.
-
Dook should kick the FG and not go for this. Points at a premium in these championship games. Give yourself a TD lead.
-
Ahhhhhh, I needed that context. That makes more sense. Unfortunately, I think Bama will get penalized for it, only because they got blown out and the CFP committee desperately needs a way to avoid putting Notre Dame in and not Miami (who beat Notre Dame). Either way, one of those three teams (Bama, ND, Miami) will be wrongfully left out for Tulane and Virginia/James Madison. Either way, someone(s) are going to be loud and hateful Sunday at 12:15pm. Including Texas, who will finish 12th, has no shot to get in, but will argue they beat Texas A&M and Oklahoma who are both in. Sunday, bloody Sunday is coming, and once again it involves the Irish.
-
There isn't a player or coach on Alabama's team who will sleep tonight. Not guaranteed, most have them out now. They have three losses, the two teams behind them, Notre Dame and Miami, have two losses. Notre Dame's two losses are to Miami and Texas A&M by a combined 4 points. One of Alabama's three losses is @ Florida State, Miami won @ Florida State. Yes, you're a conference champion and not a loser who played to lose. That life lesson for 18-22 year olds extends way further into their future than cowardly backing your way into a National Championship will. Ditto.
-
The Alabama - Georgia game was essentially an elimination game for Alabama and Georgia's chance to lose a first round bye. The OSU - Indiana game is for the number 1 seed and Indiana's first conference championship in school history. How are either of those pointless games?
-
If UVa loses, James Madison is in. If UVa wins they are in. Bama's fate is solely in the committee's hands to vote them in over Notre Dame/Miami at this point.
-
Savage to re-post buddy getting 1 for sure, and maybe only 2 right. Hahaha.
-
The bottom of the league is awful, and the overall style of the league is boring. If that's what you mean by overrated, I agree. Good news is Ohio State and Georgia should be able to settle it on the field in 6 weeks. We can pick this debate up then.
-
Fixed it for you. I'm talking about Ohio State's defense, not their offense.
-
Ohio State would feast on the Georgia offense. They literally did nothing. 3 of their 4 TDs were off short fields from a blocked punt, an interception, and a turnover on downs. Those 3 scoring drives TOTALED 73 YARDS. 6 of Georgia's 10 possessions ended in punts. Matt Patricia ain't tripping over Georgia.
-
No chance Dook is in under any scenario. My mention of them was simply to point out JMU would get in, and that would be ridiculous as JMU would be an underdog to half of any D-1 college football team if not more.
-
The amount of chaos coming the CFP committee's way is comical. Bama loses and gets in as a 3 loss team vs Miami a 2 loss team. Your truest comp (according to the CFP committee's "rules") of the two is Bama lost badly at FSU and Miami won at FSU. For the record I think Bama is better than Miami, but historically the CFP has always said like opponents results is a huge factor when there is no head to head. Bama wins, does the SEC champ jump to 4, over Oregon, Ole Miss and A&M who didn't play today. But OU is sitting in front of Bama, and OU beat Bama in Tuscaloosa, so OU, who also didn't play today would jump 5 spots including three teams who were ahead of them and also didn't play based on their head to head with Bama, according to the CFP's "rules". Notre Dame / Miami, if Dook wins you'll have JMU as a 4 TD dog to whoever they play, Tulane will be at least a 13.5 point dog to whoever they play. The real travesty in all of this is we won't get to see Diego Pavia and his entire family arrested in a coke binge rage during them losing the Sugar Bowl.

This is silly. Not worth arguing.
