  1. Will always have a soft spot in my heart for the man that's public enemy #1 in N'awlins
  2. Chernobyl ain't got nothing on the Huddle for meltdowns
  3. Running free agent signings tally: Falcons 3 Panthers 2 Bucs 1 Saints nada
  4. Since he's signed, that means the Chiefs cut Dwayne Bowe
  5. Give him an extra $5 million this year. Who needs rookies when we have a left-handed #2 WR
  6. Trades hurt the salary cap. For example: We traded Jon Beason to the NYGiants 3 years ago for a draft pick. At the time, Beason had 3 years left on his 5 year contract. (Don't remember the real numbers, so using easy example) He received a $20 million signing bonus, which was divided by the 5 years to get a cap charge of $4 million per year of his contract. So in the 3rd year, he's traded. Well, the salary cap problem arrives when a guy is traded. The remaining years with $4 million get bumped up to this year's cap instead of staying on the future year's cap. So the $4 million for this year changed to $12 million because those last 2 years got moved up. So you have $8 million more on your cap than before the trade. And then Beason is sent to his new team and that $12 million stayed on our cap even tho Beason was now on the NYGiants. And the Giants had to take on his base salary and signing bonuses, too. Since we have no cap room, that's why we don't do trades right now. To the best of my knowledge that's how trades work with the salary cap. If anyone knows more details, feel free to educate me.
  7. Now if they re-do Goldson's deal I'll hit the trifecta
  8. The way we practiced last year with those gps monitors did. Rumors I heard were Chip's way wore the players down too much before the games. Vets didn't like it, and Chip's housecleaning began.
  9. He was born to be a Falcon. Their free agents break easily. He's missed 30+ games in 4 years Annnnnnnnnnnnnnnddddd now he's on IR broke his wrist signing the contract
  10. Chip runs tough practices, prolly tear something in those and never play a game
  11. Hope so Saints and Falcons want him too
  12. He's been in ATL since last night was wined and dined by Quinn and Dimitroff Tampa is supposed to be his next stop
  13. Probably their depth chart is only Colston-Stills-Cooks-Toon and assorted practice squad bodies
  14. and we're throwing more gas on the fire talking about no WR visits for the draft
  15. His was the last big roster bonus they could convert to signing bonus to get cap room at $2.5 million. They are still about $500k over the cap if I mathed right.
  16. This was your first time, right? You'll always remember your first time
  17. I remember hearing a lot of the same people complaining about Bersin and Cotchery now complaining about Boykin. Excuse me, since when did you all suddenly decide you wanted to keep Bersin and Cotchery? Gettleman brings in a big, young receiver from a good system to add competition to the #3 , #4, or #5 spot and you all wail and cry like Gettleman cut your balls off with a dull spoon because we didn't sign what you think is a #2 right away. And just tell me who considers Stevie Johnson or Michael Crabtree a speed demon anymore? Anybody remember all the arrests Britt had? Why are the Raiders letting DMoore go when they need weapons and have cap space from here to Alaska? Is that why TSmith got sooo much $$$ from the 9ers is because he's the ONLY WR that will EVER be available that's fast in free agency AND the draft? No fast kids at the Combine? I feel like you're being delusionally irrational. I know you want to win and win NOW, but the team is not just 1 or 2 pieces away from expecting to win the Super Bowl every year. We have a few more spots to fill and another year to let them solidify. If you can't wait for that, find another team to cheer for. The rest of us will be enjoying the ride of another playoff run, even if it doesn't end how we'd like.
  18. 6'2" 218 lbs. 25 years old with 3 years of experience in a great offense that teaches timing and routerunning. Had 49 for 681 with 3 TDs in 8 games when Cobb was injured. Not his fault the Packers had talent in front of him on depth chart and hit on the Davante Adams draft pick last season. I'd prefer us taking young talent from great teams (Patriots, Packers, Seahawks, Ravens) that happen to be buried on the depth chart because those teams draft well. He doesn't have to be a #2 for us, we still have a WR loaded draft to look forward to. He can definitely push Cotchery and Bersin, tho. Stop dialing suicide prevention and put your phones down.
  19. $16 million cap space minus $5 million to sign the draft picks minus $5 to 7 million for signing free agents and practice squaders during the season = $4 to 6 million to use for free agency $4 to 6 million minus what we've spent to re-sign our own (Cole, Edwards, Dickson, Fozzy, etc.) = not much left Sure we could have offered T Smith $4 to 6 million, then we say goodbye to our depth. You're funny, please keep posting
