I think the apprehension has more to do with the injuries more than anything else. And it’s especially unfair to lump the Panthers in that category. We have a fan base and owner that is still reeling from a goat whose career was stolen by injuries and POS ass clown refs in SB 50.

I’m inclined to agree. He sucked against NO. I’m not sure if that is a morale problem or some kind of mental consistency. But overall he improved last year. He was wheeling and dealing against the Bucs. He absolutely played well enough to win and his one pick was an underthrow that was technically the right read. He was one play away from having the best game a Panthers QB has had in a while. And I have historically hated Sam for a long time. But he does have the tools and foundations to be whatever he wants in the NFL. I don’t mind having him back so long as we have other options.

I get the optics but to be real Carr, Garoppolo, and even Rodgers as of late are chokers with the game on the line. Doesn’t matter at the end of the day. 6-10, 7-9, or 12-4. A loser in the playoffs is still a loser. They are looking for a QB that has the magic to win and put the game on his back for the long term. If Delhomme in his prime was available they would be signing him.

The problem isn’t that Derek Carr is good. The problem is that Derek Carr is the perfect candyass QB to pair with a candyass media darling team like the Saints. The league will Cinderella this man and screw us with top notch scrubtacular officiating for the next 3 years. Just watch.

I feel like the only way we'll get to #1 is by losing our players too and I'm not really down for that.

Man I really liked the thought of taking AR and letting him sit behind Carr. But now it looks like we’re gonna have to move up to take Richardson which at that point you might as well see if you can get Stroud. I’m afraid of young just getting smashed on the nfl level.

I’d have to see what that would look like. I’d really like us to do matte silver helmets. Similar to the Vikings. That would look badass.

At his size he reminds me a good bit of Deshaun Foster. I'm not sure he has the extra gear to break away consistently though. And after 3-4 years he's going lose his top end speed. Wouldn't mind having him but I wouldn't take him at 9.

I called this poo. I hate Rodgers but he can still ball. He would immediately make us contenders.

The thing about Carr is that he would immediately make this a 10 win team with the roster had last year. Taking Richardson at 9 and keeping our picks to build the rest of the team doesn't sound too bad. We can win now and build a culture for the new QB to develop into.

There is definitely a line where athleticism and talent matters though. If all you had to be was smart and have some touch the league would be dominated by 6 ft QBs like Heineke. Fitzpatrick was a Harvard grad and was only moderately successful. Understanding the game only goes as far as you’re able to implement that understanding on your play. You can be smartest and conceptually understand everything but if you crumble under pressure and can’t stand in the pocket you’re useless.

I like AR at 9 as well. We'd give up too much for Young/Stroud. And those guys are toothpicks.

I think we have guys who could succeed like Burns, Haynes, Luvu, and Smith. But I am concerned about Brown in a 3-4 seems like he's starting to blossom. Would hate to see him have a setback in a new scheme.

Corral will get his chance to compete, but he literally has to be incredible to get a shot at starting. We are drafting a QB or signing Derek Carr.
