  1. When your QB throws 1 TD per game it's hard to put up TDs... Also, while TDs factor in they're hardly the only important stat. Look at Julio's TD numbers, nobody would argue he isn't one of the best wideouts in the game since he came into the league yet his TD numbers are quite pedestrian. Yards put you in a position for the team to score TDs.
  2. He hasn't missed any games this year. And has easily been our best D man.
  3. Dude don't scare me like that I clicked this thread expecting some actual terrible news
  4. I don't follow Lonzo or the Pelicans much so I may be wrong but I thought Lonzo was considered an elite wing defender... And he's been shooting extremely well lately, one of the best from 3 in the last month or so on a bunch of attempts. Maybe it's just a hot streak but based on the little that I have seen, I think that would be a great fit next to Melo, plus it'd never hurt to have even more length and rebounding ability at guard. Does Lonzo really need to have the ball in his hands? People thought the same about Terry and he's been a great SG this year. As for whether I'd want him, it depends on what we'd have to give up, I'm guessing he'll net the Pelicans a fairly sizable haul. I like Rozier and would probably prefer we just stick with him, plus our depth is great with Graham and Monk so we don't really have a big need for an upgrade at guard right now. It would certainly be interesting. If we got Lonzo and were competing for (or winning) championships with the Ball brothers we'd probably become one of the most hated teams in the league as Lavar would likely be going off on how great they are together, etc. I'd love that.
  5. I don't think he's gotten that slow, plus we don't need a super fast and athletic field stretching TE, we already have that in our receivers and McCaffrey. Rudolph offers the main thing we don't have on offense and that's a big possession target and red zone threat. Don't need speed to box a guy out in the end zone...
  6. Not super well, he’s a capable blocker but has always been more of a pass catcher. Great red zone threat but hasn’t been utilized well in that role in MN. If the price was right I’d be all for it, and I do think that the price could wind up being right. I don’t see him having a huge market frankly.
  7. Where the pick is this year doesn't matter one bit if the overall value is equal. If the overall value is equal, the Texans can trade up to the top 3 if they want with other assets we would send in a trade. Plus, I'm not sure why the Texans are in such a rush to get a QB if they do trade Watson. If they don't replace Watson with a capable starter they will be a lock for 1st overall next year and then will have Howell and a crap ton of draft capital/young players from the Watson haul and would be looking pretty good going forward. Yeah next year would suck for them but it'd be a quick turnaround from there. I don't think us picking 8th this year factors in at all except that it means we'll have to offer more in the total package, but we've already known this thanks to the whiners bringing up the Washington win every other thread...
  8. The Ball to Bridges alley oops are gonna frigging bring the house down, especially if well timed late in competitive games. I don't live in the area otherwise I'd be looking at tickets too
  9. McCown is more likely to retire than Smith. He’s 41.
  10. This thread would be better if it was about Alex Smith.
  11. Yeah give Ned those two then ease Mrazek in a bit slowly and if Ned continues to prove himself roll those 2 guys and phase Reims out a bit until they struggle
  12. Ned’s looking good lately. With Reimer struggling we should ride Ned for a bit see if he can keep up this momentum
  13. Yeah there’s no chance they trade for Teddy to backup Jimmy, that makes zero sense. They’d have like $40-50M tied up into pretty crap QBs...
  14. Yeah down 8 with a minute left and a flagrant foul called on us... They had 2 free throws and the ball up 8 with a minute left. And lost. That is so hard to believe. I mean, we were absolutely fuging great in the clutch and never gave up so a ton of credit to the Hornets. But also, man the Kings needed to hit those free throws, 6 straight missed free throws I think in the last couple minutes helped keep us in it. Also, lowkey that LaMelo block in the final minute right before Rozier hit the big 3 to make it a 5 point game was the most important play of that game. That was an elite defensive play in crunch time that sparked our final comeback efforts. This guy is going to lead us to at least 1 championship, I'm convinced of that.
  15. You used them sucking as a reason that you changed your mind on him being overrated, yet don't deny that they still would've sucked with him last year... I think Dak is a solid QB, maybe even a "franchise QB" but nothing about him says he can actually carry a team like the true top tier QBs and if he's going to be more like a Kirk Cousins type "franchise QB" then we would need a damn good team around him to actually win a SB with him. A damn good team we wouldn't be able to build easily because he's going to come with a massive contract, and potentially requiring giving up assets to the Cowboys in a trade. If we could draft the equivalent of Dak at 8 overall right now I'd be 100% for it. I do think he'd be a tremendously valuable QB at a certain price, but not for what he'd get on the open market or what he'll get from the Cowboys when they just extend him this offseason. We're much better off getting of the top 3 guys in the draft who actually have the potential to be top tier QBs and who will be on rookie deals, even if we do have to trade up for the one we want.
  16. They would’ve sucked with him too. Hard pass on Dak unless he’s an absolute bargain, which he won’t be.
  17. Our backcourt is set if you ask me, I love its make up right now and wouldn't target any guard in a trade/free agency, even if they are theoretically an upgrade. Melo and Rozier are a great starting pair and Graham and Monk are incredible off the bench. We only need to upgrade the frontcourt. Jury is out on PJ being an ideal starter at PF, he obviously shouldn't be playing much at C. Miles is a great SF off the bench and could be a 6th man of the year candidate in time. Unless our 2nd round rooks surprise, we have nothing good at C and just PJ at PF, who has been inconsistent. Wish we could've gotten Jarret Allen, not sure what other options there are there except just continuing to try to draft well.
  18. I wouldn't even give up on him developing consistency and being much more than that. His recent comments about growing up and actually putting in the time and effort to study film and focus, etc. were pretty damn revealing. If he keeps on the right track in that regard I see no reason he can't develop even further. Also, for all the criticism of Borrego for playing the Martin scrubs over Monk earlier, as much as that seemed warranted maybe there was a good reason for it... Hopefully he's turned a corner and can become an important core piece here.
  19. Both sides playing hardball and it'll drag out but I still don't think Watson ever plays another snap for the Texans. We shouldn't hold out hope for getting Watson and should approach the draft with getting a franchise QB in mind. If we do that and Watson finally does become "available" later, then at that time we can decide if we want to try to trade for him or just stick with our rook and develop him. But, I ultimately do think this could get done before the draft. It's still February, the Texans need to take this stance initially to get the best deal they can for him. The Texans still have a ton of time, but realistically the situation starts to get worse for them after the draft so that's a solid initial deadline.
  20. If cost of acquiring was equal, Trevor Lawrence on a rookie deal is the only correct answer.
  21. And if he's committed to not playing for them (which it certainly seems like is the case), all they'd be doing is shooting themselves in the foot. There will never be a shortage of interested teams. The price will just go down. Texans just hurt themselves by playing hardball, considerably more than Watson would hurt himself by sitting out for an extended period of time if he truly won't ever play for Houston again.
  22. If we trade Burns, Brown, Chinn and multiple first rounders including 8 overall this year I will be livid.
