  1. I’ve tried to hold out as much hope as I can but it would be very difficult to argue this if things get to that point
  2. So Quinn and Slowik received initial interviews with us, are reportedly being called in for round two for teams but not with us yet. Will be interesting to see if that changes. If it doesn’t, it makes me think we’re really narrowing our focus on 1-2 names.
  3. It is absolutely insane that this isn’t common sense. We’ve been so obsessed with fixing this position that the rest of the roster has been absolutely depleted. Then everyone we move on from immediately goes somewhere else and begins playing better. And we still can’t figure out what the common denominator is.
  4. One thing I gathered from Person's article is that outside of the obvious fact that we want Johnson, no one has a clue where we stand beyond that.
  5. If Tepper looks himself in the mirror and realizes he should have given Wilks a fair shot, it does seem like going with a guy like Raheem could go a long ways to restoring trust in the locker room. I think he can get us back to our roots and give us someone to rally around. Assuming we strike out on Johnson I'd be more than fine with Raheem.
  6. Obviously we know we hope Ben Johnson comes in for another interview. That would be Johnson, Canales, Morris, and Evero getting second interviews. Maybe Slowik and one/both of the Ravens coordinators? Started with 11 maybe our list is cut down to 6-7
  7. I think I agree. The league is clearly very high on him but I’m not sure he’s what we need right now
  8. Apparently Quinn has scheduled interviews with Tennessee, Seattle, and Washington this week but nothing about him coming in for one with us. We’ll see if that changes
  9. 16 of the last 23 Super Bowl winners were coached by a retread coach. We desperately need a culture builder, and Raheem is known to be the ultimate architect. He wasn’t even bad with the Bucs and the Falcons immediately got better when he became their interim. Name one player on the Rams defense that’s not Aaron Donald
  10. Tbf doesn’t sound like Slowik has scheduled a second with anyone yet
  11. Once we have interviewed Raheem and Canales we should be Rooney Rule compliant
  12. Raheem getting a second interview per Schefter
  13. Tennessee interviewing Brown in person and are now compliant with the RR. Me thinks they have their guy and want to move quick
  14. It was a virtual interview. Johnson now can’t accept any more interviews until after next week.
  15. Totally agree. We definitely seemed overeager to make a hire last year. We need to be patient this time
  16. Basically, it seems like the Titans could be positioning themselves to make a hire this week. And we could lose out on Callahan while waiting for others. But honestly I’m fine with that. I’m not even sure he’s one of my five favorite candidates right now (Johnson, Slowik, Canales, Morris, Macdonald)
  17. Interestingly enough, it was just announced they interviewed Shaw tonight in person. That’s at least 1 RR interview right there. I simply have a hard time believing David Shaw is in serious contention for an NFL HC job right now. Titans could be eager to make a hire this week and maybe it’s Callahan. Puts us in a precarious spot since I assume we’re waiting out on Johnson.
  18. Yep, Reich was named HC on the 24th. Safe to say the search this year will go longer. And it should. Finding out who gets a second interview will at least help us narrow down the prospective candidates some.
  19. I feel like some teams know they have no real shot at Johnson. Maybe all of them sans Washington. I feel like at least 1-2 of these vacancies get filled this week.
  20. In a vacuum, I wouldn’t hate hiring Evero as HC and I wouldn’t mind making Morgan as GM. But I will be pretty angry if that’s how both jobs go down. We need at least one prominent voice from the outside coming in.
  21. Perhaps Evero is to knock out a Roooney Rule requirement, but interesting he's getting another look in Seattle also.
  22. I at least hope we get more information soon regarding second interviews. Interesting to remember last year Gannon and Steichen got hired like the day after the Super Bowl. So if the Ravens make a run to the Super Bowl which they're favored to do, and we end up targeting one of their coordinators an official announcement won't be made until mid February. Which is fine, I really hope we're in no rush to hire a coach just to hire one.
  23. First candidate we’ve heard of getting a second interview right?
  24. Callahan getting a second interview per Peliserro
  25. And if we had just taken CJ, no one is calling it the worst trade of all time. The process wasn’t even bad, the selection was. Right now at least. Bryce could still turn it around but I think it’s less than a 5% chance he ever ends up being as good as CJ.
