  1. If we’re set up to win in spite of QB play, why did we see an uptick in winning when Darnold took over? You admit that Sam has done well for us but want to pay a QB double who has been performing terribly. I wouldn’t hate acquiring Carr for a single 6th or 7th, but only if we could make the move without cap casualties or restructures that affect our future flexibility. We can’t do that. When he’s cut, let’s see what his market value is and go from there. If he’s cheap, then we can consider it.
  2. Agreed. So is describing everything around him as unsustainable. Our OL play only seems unsustainable bc we’re comparing it to the atrocities we trotted out in previous years. No one would trade assets for our current crop of RBs, but their production has been excellent. I can make the argument that Sam’s receiving options are in the bottom 5 in the league. That doesn’t seem to be considered when discussing our heavy reliance on the run. Not to mention, our running game was non-existent vs Pittsburgh. Sam threw for 225, 1TD and no INT. Not enough to win, but that’s average QB play even when things around him were going bad.
  3. Top 5 passer rating is not average QB play. Every single QB in the game will miss WRs. His mechanics have been improved this year. He’s not getting the antsy, happy feet of previous years. At least not yet.
  4. When looking at his contract, have you considered he is performing below our current QB this season?
  5. I understand your hesitancy, but what makes it tougher is Darnold's youth. If we drafted one of the older QBs in this draft who are right at Darnold's age, most would be ecstatic if they provided the steady performances of Darnold's last five games. The toughest thing to accept is we may not know if it's an outlier or the development of a young QB by the end of this year. That's why a short, Trubisky-esque contract might be the play.
  6. I agree with the poster who said it’s too small a sample size. Let’s see what happens today, but put me in the camp that doesn’t care what a top 5 passer rating is built on if the team keeps winning 3 out of every 4 games.
  7. What’s your thoughts on this: I think most here are skeptical this type of play from Sam continues over the next two weeks. If it does, prepare yourself to embrace bearded Sam.
  8. What a great day of college football
  9. Impressive coaching on both sides there.
  10. Just a reminder that Bennett was a Heisman finalist.
  11. Don’t see Harrison coming back after that one. If he wasn’t unconscious, he was close to it.
  12. Stetson Bennett = Tyler Bray He’s just surrounded by better talent.
  13. I’m confused. I didn’t post that. Why am I quoted as saying it?
  14. Where’s UGA’s all world defense?
  15. A little late, but I didn’t have time to post earlier… If we don’t get tight end addressed this draft and Bowers isn’t an option in 2024, Ben Sinnott from Kansas St looks like a stud. 2023 TE: Mayer/ Kincaid/ Washington/ Laporta/ Musgrave 2024 TE: Bowers/ Sinnott No reason we can’t flip our TE position over the next two years.
  16. Same. It seems I may have dismissed him a bit early. I think I’d still take Young as QB1, but Stroud is a strong QB2.
  17. Actually, the first TD to Harrison wasn’t on Ringo. It was zone coverage and Harrison beat the safety #24.
  18. Ringo hasn’t been on him for all of his completions. Also, the TD he conceded was more on the DL whiffing multiple times. That said, Harrison Jr is a beast and should be a top 3 pick next year.
  19. This is starting to feel like the Orange Bowl. Michigan, like Clemson, has squandered many opportunities to put up more points close to goal. In the end, Tennessee pulled away once the Clemson defense caved.
  20. You could have just accepted my poo emoji and carried on. lol I’m not interested in squabbling about it either. That was just my way of saying I disagree with the take. Hopefully McCarthy has a solid 2nd half so this game gets interesting. Cheers
  21. If you find an article or info that has McCarthy in that tier, I’d be happy to read it. I’ve seen them both play quite a bit, and I don’t see it.
  22. I think you must have quoted the wrong post earlier. You insinuated I think Darnold is better than Young, which is incorrect. Maybe that was intended for someone else.
  23. You couldn’t be more wrong. I’ve been saying Young is QB #1 and even posted today I was wondering what it would take to trade up to get him. Just saying it’s not as simple as Young vs Darnold. We will have to give up considerable assets to be in position to draft Young.
  24. Not sad. Just giving a poo post the credit it deserves. No one except you and Michigan fans think McCarthy is on Maye/Williams level. ETA: Actually, most Michigan fans would think that’s a poo take too.
