  1. Yes, and that’s why Evans is still on the roster and not the practice squad. J Mitchell looks more game ready as of now.
  2. James Mitchell looked better than Evans to me.
  3. Great throw. Also a great catch.
  4. Need at least 3 RBs. Hubbard/Brooks/Etienne has a lot of potential. Dowdle will be gone. He’ll either play well and price himself out of our range or not and we wouldn’t want to resign.
  5. Good question. He looked good in the extremely limited looks he’s had in a Panthers uniform. My hope is he becomes a knockoff J Gibbs in relief of Hubbard. My realistic thought is he’ll be a threat in the passing game over the next two years and then, if he is an asset, take a reasonable deal on a second contract due to his limited play and extensive injury history.
  6. You put the disclaimer, “as of right now”, in there for a reason.
  7. I’m so shocked that you could watch a RB look like Barry Sanders in a Panthers jersey and call them a wasted pick. Shocked, I tell ya.
  8. He was consensus RB1. We were able to draft him in the mid 2nd bc of his injury. Without it, we would have never had the chance in that spot. Call it whatever you like.
  9. Not yet. He still has two years on his rookie contract, and I’ve yet to see him play. Why jump to a conclusion when he could show up next year looking like J Gibbs lite? Unless you’re just predisposed to jumping to negative conclusions.
  10. Correct. We got him at a discount due to the injury.
  11. We picked him 2.14, so only 13 teams passed on him in the 2nd. Why was it a waste? We weren’t ready to compete for a Super Bowl the last two years. So invest in the future. He’s still a part of that.
  12. Most owners would want the projected #1 player at their position
  13. I would think the boatloads of football players who’ve recovered from ACL injuries would show a mitigated risk for a first round talent.
  14. I agree, but one thing not considered is the discounted draft position we were able to select Brooks with bc of the injury. He would’ve been a first round lock before the injury, so there is a lot of upside to the risk. Unfortunately, it bit us this time with a re-injury, but we weren’t in contention and Brooks might arrive when we are.
  15. Don’t know how the front office could have foreseen a second ACL injury.
  16. If he’s a knockoff Jahmyr Gibbs, I won’t have any problem with it. I’m also thinking his injury history would be significant in contract negotiations.
  17. Hopefully, you’ll be taking this back next season.
  18. Of course, but not winning the Super Bowl doesn’t automatically make this a poor deal. If Parsons wins DPOTY each of the next four years, I wouldn’t view the contract as a failure. To me, there are two ways this contract isn’t a massive failure: 1) win a Super Bowl 2) Parsons is the most dominant defensive player over the next 4 years
  19. I mean, every team has the same amount of money to spend, and almost all will fail to win the Super Bowl regardless of how they spend it. Now, if Parsons isn’t in the running for DPOTY every year and win it at least once over the next four years, it’s a failure.
  20. Peak offseason euphoria to think y’all have two safeties better than a guy who just went #35 overall.
  21. OR it could mean that in the year 2025, our staff views Jalen Coker as more beneficial to our offense in the slot.
  22. Each offseason if I were GM, would I pay ~$2mil for the equivalent of an extra 4th or 5th round pick two years out? I would. Every time. The downside was the extra millions we locked up during free agency that could have been used elsewhere. I don’t think that extra 6 or so million would have made a huge difference this year. Maybe it will come in handy now with waiver claims.
  23. That’s also how you end up with a closet full of TY beanies.
  24. Hope there was some fuel stabilizer rubbed on those joints.
  25. Our last two 4th round picks: JT Sanders Lathan Ransom Not too shabby for a rebuilding team.
