  1. This is my answer. I'll always be a CMC fan to an extent, but them losing early helps our draft picks. I think I want the Bills to win it.
  2. This is true. We wouldn't have passed the Falcons if they had also lost. Not much went our way today. Except the "win." lol
  3. That'll do it. Officially #9 in the 2023 draft.
  4. Did you read the rest? I didn't say it justified their top 10 selection. If you think you have a Kelce or a Kittle type at #9, I don't mind drafting a TE late in the top 10. Especially if that position is a huge weakness on your team.
  5. There have only been 5 tight ends taken in the top ten in the last 20 years. 4 of the 5 made at least one pro bowl, with Pitts being the only one that didn't/hasn't. Too early to call him a bust but it hasn't been a great start for the #4 pick. I agree the return wasn't necessarily top 10 value for those 5. Kellen Winslow II, Vernon Davis, Eric Ebron, TJ Hockenson, and Kyle Pitts. I think Mayer projects to be a more complete TE than those guys who were mainly flashy receiving threats.
  6. I posted before today's game I'd like to see him brought back at 5-8mil/year for 2-3 years with an out before the 3rd year. I also posted the best case scenario would be Darnold having his worst game of the season today so we could sign him on the lower end. I ended up not being able to watch live, but it looks like he certainly had his worst game. That doesn't scare me off too much since I don't think we wanted to win. So I'm still down with the 2 years, 5mil/year. I doubt we can get him for that but we'll see.
  7. The relevant games for passing the Falcons IF we're tied in win%: MIN @ CHI DAL @ WAS NYG @ PHI LAC @ DEN ***Most Important*** DET @ GB The Chargers MUST beat the Broncos. If they lose, at best we could tie the Falcons in SOS and they own the tiebreaker (division record). We need the Chargers to win (favored), and at least 3 of the remaining 4 games to break our way to jump the Falcons. ------- I postsed the above in another thread. Updating it now since the Bears lost, we would need all of the Commanders, Eagles, Chargers, and Packers to win. Long shot.
  8. Yes, we can still pass the Falcons. Here's my post on it from page 1: The relevant games for passing the Falcons IF we're tied in win%: MIN @ CHI --- Bears lost DAL @ WAS NYG @ PHI LAC @ DEN ***Most Important*** DET @ GB The Chargers MUST beat the Broncos. If they lose, at best we could tie the Falcons in SOS and they own the tiebreaker (division record). 9. This thread is premature. We could still pass the Falcons for #8.
  10. It definitely should count and opens an unwanted loophole that discourages us from hiring Wilks as HC. I posted a thread about it a while ago. If all else is equal between candidates, we could try to keep Wilks as DC and when he’s inevitably hired away receive two 3rd rounders. All else won’t be equal though bc Wilks has support of the locker room as a tiebreaker.
  11. You don’t receive any draft compensation for hiring a minority HC. It’s only if they’re hired away from your organization (as coordinator or above) and they’ve been with you for two years.
  12. Is that what did Jarmacus in? I thought he just sucked as a pro.
  13. Good call on Allen. If only we could draft him and the results end up similar! As for draft day, if everything goes our way this weekend, we could end up ahead of three of those teams. Texans are almost assuredly going QB. Then we would just need the Seahawks to go defense and Colts to choose Levis. That seems like too much to go our way, but we were extremely lucky with last years first round choices. Here’s to hoping.
  14. I spent way too much time looking at draft position possibilities to miss out tomorrow.
  15. Maybe. Is he Cam or is he Jamarcus? Huge risk in the top 10. Has any QB been taken in the top 10 with his passing numbers before? I could be off, but I like our chances of having Young or Stroud available if we’re picking #6. I think one of them drops and hope it’s Young due to size.
  16. I’d love to see you support that statement. If I saw correctly, Darnold is averaging 8.8 yards per attempt. That ranks #2 in the entire league.
  17. Fair enough if that’s your opinion. You’re opposed to even giving Darnold 2 years at 5mil/year. I believe that would be an excellent signing by Fitterer. I’m pretty confident Darnold signs for more than that somewhere. Last time I was betting on a QB contract exceeding what others thought, I was wrong and Trubisky signed for cheap with the Bills. The next year, he landed the contract I expected though.
  18. Ok. What are your thoughts on the contract I posted above that I hope Darnold gets?
  19. Sure. Bozeman is listed as having a worse performance vs the Bucs according to that website used by the nfl. Do you hope Bozeman is resigned by the Panthers?
  20. 2-3 years at 5-8 million with an out before the third year would be excellent for the team. There’s an argument he deserves more after his 2022 production. Best thing for us is he has his worst game of the season vs the Saints and signs for the low end of what I listed above. That would stabilize the QB room with a floor that can compete for the playoffs. Also provides the flexibility to go after a young QB (this draft and/or 2024) while seeing if Darnold can continue his progression. If we locate our future franchise QB, we could keep Darnold as a backup or trade him for draft capital to a QB needy team.
  21. Thanks mrcompletely for the pff link. I stand by my subjective opinion (same thing pff puts out) that Darnold had a starting QB level performance against the Bucs. ForJimmy- I only hopped in this discussion bc posters (mrcompletely?) were indeed saying Sam isn’t even backup worthy. That’s calling him trash. I wouldn’t mind AR (late 1st with extra picks or 2nd/later). Levis would be a mistake and we’re better off with Darnold imo. I’ve only seen one game of Levis to go off though.
  22. I did. I prefer to see a QB attempt game winning plays in pivotal moments. So the near INT to DJ when we were forced to push the ball down the field doesn’t bother me much. We don’t currently have a QB signed to play for us other than an injured, 2nd year project. Of course mock drafts will show us taking a QB until we fix that room. The entire game last Sunday was a pressure situation. Going into an away game against a rival with the playoffs on the line, Sam performed admirably. No one except posters here (and maybe Jets’ sites) thought Sam had a bad game vs the Bucs.
  23. I don’t hate it here at all. I’m not a Darnold super fan. I do have the ability to recognize when a player may be improving though. Multiple analysts have posted content showing Darnold has had a surprisingly good season. At halftime, the commentators were discussing how Darnold has earned a chance at being the starter moving forward. I guess they’re all delusional and your take, the one that ignores a players improved performance that has been above league average, is the one that’s right. The only people posting that Darnold has been trash this year are fans or haters. I don’t mind calling that out.
  24. I believe Shaq’s deal gets restructured to keep him around the next 2-3 years. Luvu was a great addition and my only wish is we had locked him up longer. I think Brandon Smith could be ready to start by next year, but we’re going to have to sign some LB help. Maybe Cole Holcomb or Germaine Pratt return to NC? In the draft, Dee Winters (TCU) could be a guy to take in the mid rounds. Looking forward to watching him again Monday.
