You never know, he could have massive hemorrhoids right there.

Luton to IR guess that answers why he didn’t get more snaps? Or not. Idk.

Dang they did Dillon Johnson dirty.

What is the benefit to benching starters for the preseason?
WUnderhill replied to hepcat's topic in Carolina Panthers
I’ve been there I don’t always read full threads before I reply either, just making an observation on the pervasiveness of the narrative. Successful teams don’t all follow the same formula and you don’t have to look hard at all to see plenty who aren’t playing any or many starters just like us, so I think it’s time to stop talking about the approach in terms of “successful teams do this and we’re doing the opposite” because we are actually more in line with what a majority of last years playoff teams seem to be doing and KC seems to be an outlier. To your point that they play “some starters to varying degrees”, well, the Panthers have played some starters as well. Do I think it would be beneficial to play more of our starters more minutes? Sure. But I acknowledge that is just based on my feelings and I don’t know everything that went into the decisions of who played and who didn’t. Like if they felt certain starting OL shouldn’t be playing for whatever reason, maybe there’s some soreness we don’t know about or whatever, yeah I don’t want any QB that we would be relying upon in the regular season taking snaps behind our practice squad level backups. -
What is the benefit to benching starters for the preseason?
WUnderhill replied to hepcat's topic in Carolina Panthers
It’s funny how I just gave clear examples of actually most of the playoff teams last year not playing starters and this post immediately follows. To your first point, Justin Herbert hasn’t played a snap this preseason either with new coach, schemes, players, etc. Y’all really just need to stop acting like this is some Panthers-only, losing teams only, approach so we can have real conversations. And just lol imagining the posts we would have to endure here if Bryce Young had played this preseason to go 2/6 for 11 yards and a sack as Brock Purdy has. -

Are they though? I just looked at the box scores for a few, and I could be wrong because I don’t worry myself so much with watching other teams, but it appears to be a completely false narrative that “all the best teams are playing their starters a few drives.” I started with the 49ers since they were just in the Super Bowl (we all know Mahomes has played so didn’t bother looking at the Chiefs), and it appears Purdy has played maybe a series over 2 games (2/6 on pass attempts), McCaffrey doesn’t appear to have played at all, and neither do any of their starting receivers (I don’t see any stat lines for Samuel or Pearsall but it’s possible they played and didn’t catch a pass). A brief check of other division winners/playoff teams from last year showed no Prescott, no Goff, no Mayfield, no Hurts, just 2 pass attempts from Love. At that point I just stopped looking because the narrative that all the other good teams are playing starters is clearly just false. Please don’t move the goalposts, I get there are other arguments for why people think we should get some reps for our starters, but can we at least stop acting like all good teams play their starters and we should follow their examples because it just isn’t true. -
There are so many great 90s movies:

He’s just here because he’s been here. Why would they spend time teaching a new QB the system, plays, language, etc. for 3rd/4th string that won’t make the team? I’d prefer they focus elsewhere idk about you. It’s clear they place very little value in these preseason games and value practice way more.

Let the meltdown commence.

What’s my way?

This is new and definitely not something that has been repeated ad nauseam.

Damn we already lost the first player on the field race.

Legend of the Game: Armanti Edwards
WUnderhill replied to Carolina Panthers's topic in Carolina Panthers
IIRC nobody was scouting him as a QB for the draft. I doubt it would have worked either way. Classic overdraft the local legend to sell tickets. -

First Philly now this. We’ve been playing pretty loose with the word “legend”. -
One of 2 things will happen. Either Bryce won’t play and the huddle will have a meltdown. Or, Bryce will play with heavy emphasis on the run game and dumping the ball off to make sure he doesn’t take unnecessary hits before the regular season, and the huddle will have a meltdown. Either way, huddle meltdown guaranteed.

I’m not trying to justify my position. I think they should play and it has nothing to do with whether the previous season was good or bad. -

You are completely missing the point. People are and have been arguing that it’s some unique thing to the Panthers and/or that it’s a barometer of success. You’ve got no problem with people saying Andy Reid plays his starters, but you do have a problem with people saying Sean McVay doesn’t play his starters. -
Do I know you? You act like I’m your arch nemesis or something but for the life of me idk who tf you are. Full high gear…what are you on about lol. If that post affected you that much you probably need to take a break.

Oh man break out the violins for the oppressed and marginalized community of huddle posters who have derailed nearly every thread for the past year saying the same things over and over again. If you want to “counter” my post or whatever, try doing it in a more timely manner instead of dragging me into a thread I’m not even participating in with a weeks old post you’ve clearly had dog eared for whatever reason. It would also help your case if my prediction didn’t come to fruition like it has.

Tf u quoting me for? Just to take something out of context in your little pissing match? It was a commentary at the time of how every thread digressed into constant bitching and moaning about how far the ball travelled and arguments over subjective definitions of “deep ball”. What “crew” is it that I’m a part of? I barely post on this forum anymore because of the constant derailing of every thread into bitching and moaning about one player and literally every thing he does. Whine about a video of him walking to camp, whine about completions, whine about incompletions, interceptions in practice are the end of the world, whine whenever he takes a picture with somebody, whine about his deep passes not meeting your definition of deep pass, whine about him playing, whine about him not playing. It’s fugging exhausting.

Why Dave Canales needs live reps with his first-team?
WUnderhill replied to jayboogieman's topic in Carolina Panthers
I’m not saying reps don’t matter at all, but I just don’t think our whole season rests on whether the starters get like 5 extra reps in a preseason game. -
Well I, for one, am shocked by Jack Plummers performance with our 3rd string offense.
