  1. It's been mentioned, and I tend to agree with this, that they were keeping him on the bench as a reserve tackle. That he's too valuable to use at guard because he can play either tackle position if there's an injury there. I don't agree with that; Panthers aren't talented enough or in a position to get cute like that. It also speaks to the limitations of the coaching staff that they don't want to add coaching BC as a guard all week to their responsibilities, but this is clearly a poorly coached offensive unit.
  2. They don't need to spend their first round pick on a QB.
  3. canales looking up from his playchart, going "whaaaaaa" then looking back down, like me when I'm on my phone and someone is telling me a boring ass story
  4. The secret with PFF is they are specifically opaque because they traded in their once good reputation to poo out next day madden grades for monday morning desk warriors who want something to click on. It takes NFL teams about 36 hours to fully grade every play from their own team, and those are the coaches who know what all of the play calls are, who all of the players are, are professionals at their jobs, and have a staff of interns helping them do it. I know people that do this for PFF. There are some people that are smart and good and know what they're talking about, but they're rare. And even in the case of people that have football experience, they don't know the plays. They have an idea of the plays. This is to say nothing about the idiots who played one year of JV ball and never saw the field and can't get over it. That's what the most of PFF is. These grades are completely worthless.
  5. sorry to double quote but A.) you're not fixing fumbles. There's nothign to be fixed about his fumble this weekend, for example. that is just a small person trying to move quickly who's hands are small. B.) so i like these charts just because all the information is right in front of you and its easy to reference. This is the whole season, not this dumb "well if you cound the last 9 quarters not including the first quarter..." that people are twisting themselves into knots for Higher/lower = offense is more/less productive. Left/right = quarterback is less/more accurate than expected given field position/defense quality/etc Don't look top right
  6. yep, good eye. i noticed it too.
  7. that's totally possible, and i'm not saying he's as bad as unathletic as rosebloom or anything, but ive just never seen him do anything impressive. I've seen him trying to race a RB to the boundary multiple times, plays that don't require any recognition; that is your guy, cover him. I'm pretty sure I could turn the corner on him and I a MACI procedure done 5 months ago.
  8. How tortured is your defintion of "better" to get to this conclusion
  9. He can be serviceable on special teams which is fine. You need good players on special teams and you can hide their deficiencies. you can’t unteach slow.
  10. You’re right. My bad. Love my qb to have the same build as a female Asian podcaster.
  11. He’ll have to be at a desk. or they’ll have to find a female sideline reporter who like 5’6 for him to stand next to.
  12. Bryce won’t be a backup in the nfl 1. he’s too small. A backup needs to be able to run the same offense with the same personnel for the guy he’s backing up. His skill set is too limited. No one is going to create an entirely different set of plays for their backup qb 2. he’s an injury risk. He’s been shockingly durable since he was drafted, his fake ankle injury in his rookie year notwithstanding. But you’re not gonna sign a guy who looks like his mother is throwing him around the grocery store every time he gets hit. 3. he fumbles too much. Backup qb has to protect the ball and fumbles are worse than interceptions in today’s nfl 4. he wouldn’t accept it. Baby Bryce was leaking trade rumors to the press when he got benched last season. He won’t willingly go be a backup anywhere.
  13. Good lord people get excited every time Wallace gets to chase down the four offensive players in the nfl slower than him.
  14. Also one of the things that might keep McD around all year is their offense (as putrid as it is) is designed very specifically to protect tua and take advantage of their track star wrs and rbs. they probably don’t have the personnel to just line up under center and run the ball like happens with most interim head coaches.
  15. Yeah tua now, multiple brain injuries in. tua has put up numbers Bryce will never sniff.
  16. Have you watched the jets play this year? they don’t have anything to lick.
  17. I think it’s a go head drive since there were two more. he did draw a bailout game ending flag tho.
  18. One of the panthers two winnable games left so enjoy it. well never mind I guess we’ll split against the saints.
  19. He’s just not a serious person. But I guess he stands at the tunnel giving high fives at the end of the half like some high school qb so people think he’s a leader or whatever
  20. Showing signs of what? Belonging in the league? tyranny of low expectations
  21. One of the things I hate most about Bryce is how all these “big drives” require like multiple fourth down conversions, a bailout dpi, defenders not making tackles, etc. Like bro this is a dolphins team that might not win another game this season why does every drive feel like the Normandy scene from saving private Ryan
  22. It looks horrible but I’m not sure it’s the worst play. It’s fourth and long and their offense looked inept for the first three plays. They have three timeouts and the qb is Bryce young. In that position it’s probably better to hope for punt shenanigans or Bryce throwing another pick. They force a punt if the DB doesn’t commit PI. I don’t think Bryce threw a catchable ball there.
