  1. Yeah Mingo sold it for me cause I like his ceiling, think he could be special. Pickens was the target and I needed a QB to replace Stroud. Mingo put it over the top.
  2. I also have Pickens and specifically targeted him in a trade because I see him as a WR1. I think he takes a huge leap this year. It’s a dynasty league with 27 man rosters but I ended up trading C.J. Stroud, Terrace Marshall, Kenneth Gainwell, and Demario Douglas for George Pickens, Sam Howell, and Jonathan Mingo. Feeling really good after watching Howell this past week. Also didn’t want to keep Stroud cause I also have Bryce Young as another one of my QB’s and didn’t want to roll with two rookie QB’s this year.
  3. To be fair, we’ve always looked good in preseason. Hell, Coghlan looked liked a damn Norris trophy winner.
  4. Good for Joey, the Ravens finally lose a preseason game.
  5. This is the best preseason game I’ve seen in quite some time. Let’s see if Joey Slye will get a chance to be a hero.
  6. If Beaulieu is Don’s idea of putting pressure on Skjei/Pesce then we are fugged. Walt came out and said that we need around 12 defensemen available for the preseason so hopefully this PTO is nothing more than helping us get to 12.
  7. 2016 was the last season that I can remember where we were both serviceable on offense and defense. It was actually Chizik’s second year as DC during his first stint at Carolina. The problem was that Larry Fedora was a shitty HC. That team should have been so much better than it was.
  8. Guess it depends on what Rattler shows up. And which Mack Brown shows up, angry Mack or grandpa Mack. And if Gene Chizik learned how to put together a defense.
  9. UNC could quite possibly have two starting QB’s in the NFL next year, what a time to be alive.
  10. And the NFL practice and overall NFL experience is 100% different than that of a college player. College is fully structured as where the NFL isn’t. The difference is night and day. So we’ll have to disagree in the assessment of Howell being essentially a redshirt freshmen. Howell knows how to be a professional and he’s seen the differences between the college game and the NFL in both practice and in a start. Young and Richardson haven’t even been made it out of their first offseason yet. There’s really no comparison. If Howell is the player that I think he is and I believe you think he is, he should be further along than Young and especially Richardson.
  11. I love Howell, I mentioned before but I literally just acquired him in my dynasty league (actually traded Stroud for Howell and some other pieces)… but let’s be fair to Young and Richardson, Howell has a full year of NFL experience under his belt.
  12. Can’t have a better half than Howell just put up. 19/25 - 188 yards - 2 TD’s 3 carries - 17 yards
  13. Guys’ last name is Wildgoose, that’s all time great name.
  14. Lolol what a wild play. Howell hits Gibson for the TD then a fight breaks out and Sam Cosmi is out there hitting the griddy.
  15. Lol that was a wild interception, close to being PI.
  16. Slye and Palardy on the Commanders… that’ll give you nightmares.
  17. Ravens player got away with a hold on Dyami Brown.
  18. I think Young will be fine but it baffles my mind that we took a QB (Corral) who was told to hit his first read or hand the ball off if it’s not there over a guy (Howell) who could go through his reads really well when he had time.
  19. I banged that drum so much during his time at Carolina. UNC had the worst OL in college football during Howell’s last season at Carolina. But his freshmen year he showed that he can spin it when he has time.
  20. Good God we missed on Sam Howell. Actually drafted him in my dynasty league and if he plays like this I’m going to be in good shape.
  21. Alright that makes no fugging sense. Lol, he was a -23 in like 50 games last year… hard pass.
  22. One thing you won’t hear is that vibrio is going to become much worse than it already is with all of these hurricanes around the corner. Those who live specifically near the gulf have known about vibrio for quite a while but now a lot of the U.S. is going to start to become more familiar with the disease. When these hurricanes come in and bring a high concentration of warm water with them, they leave behind a breeding ground for vibrio in the form of stagnant flood waters. Personally, I won’t get in the ocean with any cuts on my body and I won’t touch any raw seafood from any state south of Maryland right now.
  23. Reich isn’t wrong, both Raequan Williams and Nick Thurman have looked better than McCall. Hell, I can even point to specific plays that LaBryan Ray and Taylor Stallworth have made. I can’t do the same for McCall. Fans should be excited about this because it shows that there is a new mantra. It’s not about what you have done, it’s about what you are doing.
  24. If that’s the case then my nine would be. Ekwonu, Christensen, Bozeman, Zavala, Moton, Mays, Erving, Jensen, and McCray. McCray gets cut when Corbett is activated. OR if Corbett is activated right away because they think he’ll be back before week four then McCray gets cut outright.
  25. Solid article by Person and I feel like he’s spot on in regards to the guys who are guaranteed spots. Meanwhile David Newton is somewhere trying to formulate competent sentences for his hit piece on Ickey. Does anyone know if any of the OL beside Bozeman and Tecklenburg can play center? If not, then I wouldn’t be totally shocked to see Tecklenburg make the team over someone like McCray even if he doesn’t necessarily deserve it. It’s a must to have two guys who can play center active on game day just in case the starter goes down. I also wouldn’t be shocked to see Ricci cut, Reich’s offense doesn’t look like it will feature him at all. I could see a ST’s guy like STOIII, Brandon Smith, or Rejzohn Wright taking that spot simply because they can help out on special teams. And finally, will Shi Smith do enough to make us carry six wideouts and does the new coaching staff see potential with him? Or do we keep a guy like Kobe Jones or Raequan Williams because we think they’ll get picked up off the practice squad. It comes down to if the coaching staff thinks that there’s some untapped potential with Shi Smith.
