  1. This is what you get from Bunting. If the plan is to use him next to Aho like Toronto did next to Matthews then we are looking at (as of now): Bunting - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - Kotkaniemi - Necas Martinook - Staal - Fast Noesen - Drury - Teravainen Rees/Ponomarev/Suzuki Slavin - Burns Skjei - Pesce Orlov - Chatfield Coghlan Andersen Raanta Kochetkov This team could be good, a lot would depend on Teravainen bouncing back and Drury and Jarvis really stepping up. If Drury doesn’t play at a 30 point pace this year then I think you need to give Ponomarev a shot at 4C and consider moving Drury.
  2. Could be right, he did spend a lot of time next to Matthews and was basically the guy that stirred poo up and jumped in when people were trying to rough up Matthews a bit.
  3. I’m not sure how everyone else feels but I enjoyed our day. Getting Freddie and Raanta to take hometown discounts was great. Getting the number one guy on the board in Orlov was fantastic, he’ll be a great bridge to Nikishin. Adding Bunting and his grit was much needed as well.
  4. I think at the end he sums it up well. They’ve got time to figure it out. It doesn’t sound like they’ll back out of the TDA just because they get EK. However, if they get EK and have been unable to move other guys out to create room then they may have to put the TDA deal on the shelf.
  5. Canes really pushing hard on Karlsson right now, but one of Pesce or Skjei has to go and maybe both depending on this TDA thing. But I won’t complain about adding a 100 point defenseman as long as he’s healthy. I’m hesitant to write the TDA deal off even if we acquire Karlsson due to the fact that the Canes PR guy, Walt Ruff, posted a piece on the deal. You don’t let your PR guy do that if you are going to back out.
  6. Depends on retainment lol TDA coming in takes up all the cap space, to fit Karlsson in he’d need to be at 4.025M and Pesce would be shipped out to neutralize the cap, then Skjei would have to be traded for picks and prospects and Tarasenko would have to sign for Skjei’s cap hit of 5.025M. Possible, but more so while playing NHL24 on the PS5 than in real life.
  7. I’d be fine with that. Move Pesce in the San Jose deal and move Skjei to wherever he wants to go for picks and maybe a good prospect and use that cap space for Tank. Svechnikov - Aho - Tarasenko Teravainen - Kotkaniemi - Necas Bunting - Staal - Fast Noesen - Martinook - Jarvis Drury Slavin - Burns Orlov - Karlsson Chatfield - DeAngelo Coghlan Andersen Raanta Kochetkov Rees, Ponomarev, and Suzuki could all be call up’s. That team would have to be a cup favorite.
  8. I wonder if we go through with the TDA deal if we get Karlsson. If we get Karlsson and move Pesce then you still have log jam on defense. Slavin - Burns Orlov - Karlsson Skjei - Chatfield DeAngelo Going to be an interesting next two weeks once the trade market heats up.
  9. I guess contingent on shipping a defenseman out, otherwise we’d have to throw Svech on LTIR.
  10. Max Lajoie to Toronto and Ghost to Detroit on a 1YR/$4M deal.
  11. The Hornets Summer League schedule kicks off on Monday and we’ll be playing in both the California Classic and Vegas Summer League. The roster and schedule are linked below: Link: https://www.nba.com/hornets/news/hornets-announce-summer-league-minicamp-roster The roster includes James Bouknight, Kai Jones, Bryce McGowens, Brandon Miller, Nick Smith Jr., James Nnaji, Amari Bailey, Xavier Sneed, Leaky Black, Angelo Allegri, Nathan Mensah, and Kobi Simmons among other guys. I believe Mark Williams just had surgery which is the reason for his absence, no word on why JT Thor isn’t playing. One exciting note is that Surenkamp is no longer the coach. Summer League tips off on Monday at 8:00PM against San Antonio on ESPN. Wembanyama is not expected to play, no word on if Miller will play.
  12. Rod historically doesn’t play guys on their off side, I’d imagine they don’t sign Orlov unless they think Chatfield can play in the top four or they are moving Skjei. If Pesce is moved instead of Skjei then the lineup will look like: Slavin - Burns Orlov - Chatfield Skjei - DeAngelo But Orlov and Skjei aren’t playing together, that would be two lefties on one pairing and then two righties on one pairing (Chatfield and DeAngelo).
  13. If Orlov is playing second then Skjei is gone. Orlov is a LHD and the only guy we’ve had play their off side in recent history is Chatfield.
  14. Kind of depends on where the Canes have everyone slotted to play. The unit as of right now is: Slavin - Burns Skjei - Pesce Orlov - Chatfield DeAngelo If Pesce is moved then maybe you look at something like: Slavin - Burns Orlov - Chatfield Skjei - DeAngelo If Skjei is moved then you are looking at something like: Slavin - Burns Orlov - Pesce Chatfield - DeAngelo And if both are moved and Karlsson is brought in then we have: Slavin - Burns Orlov - Karlsson Chatfield - DeAngelo
  15. So with the TDA deal all but being confirmed by Waddell, the current roster is: Svechnikov - Aho - Jarvis Teravainen - Kotkaniemi - Necas Bunting - Staal - Fast Martinook - Drury - Noesen Rees Slavin - Burns Skjei - Pesce Orlov - Chatfield DeAngelo Andersen Raanta Kochetkov Coghlan, Ponomarev, and Suzuki are also options for depth positions. With the TDA deal factored in, Canes essentially have $300K in cap space. Any additional moves will have to come via trade unless someone gets thrown on LTIR.
  16. I think as we saw this past year, we don’t go hard at the deadline. If there’s a move to be made for a forward then it’ll be in the next couple weeks.
  17. Just did a double check and he’s counted, even on cap friendly, at the top the project LTIR cap space is $0 and it shows Svech just on regular IR not LTIR.
  18. I actually thought about that while watching the draft lol.
  19. We need another 30 goal guy though, that’s for sure. We aren’t done with the forward group, I can guarantee you that.
  20. He is being counted, he’s not on LTIR as of right now.
  21. I think the fact that Svech is unlikely to be ready at the start of the season is another reason we aren’t done.
  22. There’s something out there in left field for us, just like the Patches deal but hopefully this time it works out.
  23. William Lagesson, who the Canes signed last year and spent all year in Chicago, is off to Toronto. One nice thing about not having an affiliate is we don’t have to sign a bunch of no names because we have nowhere for them to play next year lol.
