Per Pierre LeBrun as well as other pundits, the Canes have interest in Meier and see him as a long-term fit in Carolina. Quite a few teams will probably be scared off due to Meier’s QO next year, Carolina doesn’t appear to be one of them. I think a first, future second, and any prospect not named Morrow or Nikishin should get it done. Meier currently sits in 10th place in the NHL with 28 goals, 12 of those came on the PP which is good enough for 8th in the NHL.
