Hope the Canes are able to re-sign Skjei in a couple years. He’s been our most complete defenseman this year.

That’s another reason it’s going to be hard to move him, the teams that are going to be sellers aren’t going to want to take on that salary for an additional year and the teams that are sellers are also going to be on Teravainen’s no-trade list.

Chicago, San Jose, and Vancouver most likely aren’t (cause they are poo) and those are the teams that will be moving out pieces. He’ll be hard to move because the teams that the Canes would want to trade him to will be on his NT list.

Teravainen seems like he’s checked out. I’d love to move him but he has a 10 team NTC.

From Rod’s comments yesterday, it sounds like Noesen might be held out one more game. I think we’ll see the below today: Pacioretty - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - Stastny - Necas Martinook - Staal - Fast Teravainen - Kotkaniemi - Stepan

Looks like Patches is working with Aho and Jarvis and Turbo has been sent down to work with KK.

Yeah I liked Hakanpaa would have liked to have him back.

For sure, I just think a bit of demotion would do Teravainen some good. That first line hasn’t been great but I still see Aho and Jarvis trying, Turbo looks like he’s going through the motions at times.

I’d like to see Rod give the below a try: Pacioretty - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - Stastny - Necas Martinook - Staal - Fast Teravainen - Kotkaniemi - Noesen Extra - Stepan

Yeah it’s sad that Svech is probably are most imposing player when it comes to roughing it up at times but Svech can’t be trading penalties with Ekholm, it’s not worth it for us. Need a third pairing defenseman that can play but also rough it up a bit when needed. It kind of irked me that Pacioretty was the only one that even remotely did something by giving Ekholm lip service.

I’ll echo the sentiment that the first line does not look like a first line. With that said, Kochetkov really should have saved 3 of the 4 goals that he gave up. I also think the Canes need to find a player like Ekholm. We’ve been missing that type of physical presence probably since Michael Ferland. I’d like to see the Canes acquire a physical defenseman that can rotate in and out of the lineup with de Haan.

That was demoralizing, not sure how else to say it.

Just got outclassed by a goaltender performance for the ages…
