  1. Good to see Lindsey back on the pitch tonight, he’s had a few rough games but he’s also had some good one’s, the up’s and down’s can be expected from a young player, hope he balls out tonight.

  3. Here we go again… looks like lightning should be out of the way soon though.
  4. So over the past couple of days it appears… 1) The Canes and Necas have agreed to a 2YR/$3M AAV deal 2) The Canes and Lajoie have settled and 3) The buyout window is open With Necas added, the Canes would be about $1.1M over the cap… Gardiner is officially on notice.
  5. We certainly swapped weakness’s but we didn’t necessarily have to, we had more than enough cap space to bring back Reddick. We could have also gone the young route and brought in someone like Dorance Armstrong. The final option would have been to splurge on a one year contract for a guy like Clowney. We didn’t do either of things and now it’s looking like edge is going to be a major issue.
  6. Don’t fault the Panthers for that, he got a very good contract from a team that’s projected to be much better than us. The Panthers would have had to pay Dunlap $10M for his services and while it probably would have only been a one year deal, eventually you have to tell a guy he ain’t worth that.
  7. Not trying to bust your balls… but according to the data, he’s 100% right… we were the youngest team in the league last year and have only gotten younger. https://overthecap.com/2021-season-preview-the-nfls-youngest-and-oldest-rosters/amp We’ll have a max of maybe four players over 30 on the roster and potentially only two if Stanford and Roberts (both of which are bubble players) don’t make it.
  8. Another big one and another must win tonight (since it’s at home). Depending on how other results go, Charlotte could potentially jump to fifth in the Eastern Conference table by nights end.
  9. Odd that you say that, but I was wondering why the Panthers didn’t reach back out to Bouye with all the injuries that we’ve recently had at the CB position. Guy knows our team, how we operate, and had a decent year last year…. yet, the Panthers keep bringing in random ass kids from Pembroke and Appy.
  10. I’m personally under the impression that all of the guys would be band-aids generally because I feel like if Rhule and Fitterer wanted to truly address the position then they’d have done it earlier… no idea why edge was neglected like this. Anywho, I suspect that anyone they bring in would be coming on a one year deal which matters neither here nor there in regards to the cap because 1) We have tons of cap space and 2) The deal would expire at the end of the season. The final option is to wait for cutdowns and hope that a Dwan Edwards (in regards to impact, not position) caliber player falls into our laps. Regardless, the position definitely needs to be addressed.
  11. Lord I hope not… From a money ball perspective (assuming that Haynes will miss time), the Panthers are needing to replace 15.5 sacks (Reddick, Haynes, and Fox). You can’t factor in Smith or Barno because they are probably just special teams players at this point. So in reality, that’s 15.5 sacks being replaced by 3.5 sacks (Wilson and Littleton) and 3.0 of those sacks (Wilson) may or may not be eligible to play. It seems like the thought process was that Luvu, YGM, Haynes, and Wilson could collectively make up for the loss of Reddick. Now we are in a position where two of those guys might not be available. I’d get all three of the players listed above (McKinley, Flowers, and Nassib) plus Dee Ford (if he can walk without hurting his back) in for a visit. The Panthers have plenty of cap space and signing a guy to a one year deal isn’t going to jeopardize it for the future either.
  12. According to Czech media, Necas has signed a 2YR/$3M AAV deal.
  13. Steve Smith was singing Mays’ praise during the back to football event… if I had to guess… LT - Ekwonu, (Christensen backs up Ekwonu) LG - Christensen, FA or Brown/Daley C - Bozeman, Elflein RG - Corbett, Jordan RT - Moton, Mays Cut - Erving, Miller, Pleasants, Tecklenburg, Horton Wouldn’t be totally shocked for a veteran guard to be added after cuts.
  14. I was wondering about all the hate we were getting from their fans lol, guess that makes sense.
  15. He’s really not and I wish they would stop playing him there lol. He came on for Bender at the position against D.C. United. I think right now he’s more of a holding midfielder but he’s still young so I’m hoping they really work on developing his defensive technique and give him a shot at CDM which is where he played at Quito. Bronico has been rock solid as our CDM but Alcivar has the talent to be a great CDM if he puts it all together. He’s one of our better passers and leads the team in key passes if I’m not mistaken. Having that technique at the CDM position would be very beneficial to controlling the midfield. Also, one note on Byrne, Derby fans seemed pissed that he was leaving so I take it that he’s a pretty solid addition.
  16. So Charlotte made a good amount of moves today in hopes that it gets them over the hump and into the playoffs. A quick rundown of all the movement beginning all the way back with Franco’s transfer: In - Nathan Byrne (Derby County), Adilson Malanda (Rodez AF), Brian Romero (Charlotte FC Academy), Nuno Santos (Benfica), $400K General Allocation Money (New England) Out - Christian Makoun (New England), Alan Franco (Talleres), Christian Ortiz (Released - Tijuana), Sergio Ruiz (Granada???) Current Roster GK - Kahlina, Marks, Sisniega, Zendejas (Charlotte Independence) RB - Byrne, Afful, Lindsey RCB - Corujo, Malanda LCB - Walkes, Sobocinski LB - Fuchs, Mora, Armour (Injured), Santos (Charlotte Independence) CDM - Bronico CM - McNeill, Jones, Romero ACM - Santos, Bender, Alcivar, Hegardt (Charlotte Independence), RW - Jozwiak, Gaines ST - Swiderski, Rios, Mello (Injured) LW - Reyna, Shinyashiki, Vargas Hopefully this group gets us to the playoffs.
  17. Odd to see two ex Panther (Ryan Santoso & Elliott Fry) kickers battling it out for a job with the Jaguars… especially considering it took us so long to find an adequate kicker in Gonzalez.
  18. Panthers preseason should at least be fun throughout since we get to watch Corral. Also interested in some other young guys like Saunders, Smith (WR), Rambo, Tremble, Ekwonu, Mays, Brown (G), Smith (LB), Roy, Nixon, Hoskins, YGM, Barno, Barnes… etc. Lots of young guys on our roster.
  19. One thing that kind of sucks about this game is that there’s no young QB’s to watch. This Sloter kid is kind of interesting but other than that…
  20. Jags definitely don’t look like they have any depth.
  21. Maybe it’s just me but I feel like there’s been a lot of fairly famous deaths in the athletic industry this year… Scully was always a good listen.
  22. I imagine at least one of those guys is gone, if not two.
