  1. Here’s where we are heading into the finals. Updated Playoff Stats Josh Leivo - 11 goals, 9 assists Jack Drury - 7 goals, 9 assists Stefan Noesen - 7 goals, 9 assists Andrew Poturalski - 5 goals, 9 assists David Gust - 3 goals, 7 assists C.J. Smith - 3 goals, 5 assists Joey Keane - 7 assists Max Lajoie - 3 goals, 3 assists Jamieson Rees - 2 goals, 4 assists Richard Panik - 2 goals, 4 assists Jalen Chatfield - 1 goal, 5 assists Vasili Ponomarev - 1 goal, 4 assists Cavan Fitzgerald - 1 goal, 4 assists Stelio Mattheos - 2 goals, 2 assists Spencer Smallman - 1 goal, 3 assists Ivan Lodnia - 3 goals Jesper Sellgren - 3 assists Noel Gunler - 1 goal, 1 assist Josh Jacobs - 1 goal, 1 assist Alex Lyon - 8 wins, 2 losses, 1.96 GAA, .924 SV% Pyotr Kochetkov - 2 wins, 1 loss, 1.94 GAA, .941 SV%
  2. That was a wild match last night against El Salvador, one of the worst pitches I’ve ever seen.
  3. Congrats to the Wolves, bring it home!
  4. I like Branham the best. If we could get a center for Bouknight then I’d be fine making a trade with the contingency being that we are able to draft both Mark Williams and Malaki Branham. Not exactly sure what Bouknight and Washington could land us but I’d explore that as a foundation for a trade.
  5. I watched a bit of LIV on my computer during the end of the week, it was pretty interesting.
  6. I could certainly see that being an option. MAR loved his South American born players but Lattanzio may prefer Europeans. One thing that I think will continue to hold true is that the majority of our players will be from overseas. Krneta seems to value talent outside of the MLS rather than players who have MLS experience.
  7. I’ll watch because there’s nothing else on TV right now, I’m just trying to find something to get me to Panthers and Tar Heels football season. I have Charlotte FC on the weekends but that’s about it.
  8. It looks like Castro might be on his way to the Bundesliga to play for Eintracht Frankfurt.
  9. I don’t buy this, they just agreed to terms with Atkinson who if he does nothing else right, he develops players well. They’ll draft Mark Williams and profit.
  10. Mora was decent yesterday but overall I think the LB position is in dire needs of an upgrade. Fuchs doesn’t have the pace to play LB anymore and I personally like him better at at CB anyway. I don’t think Mora will be moved because there is no depth at LB but that position definitely needs an upgrade. Additionally, with Fuchs primarily being a CB, that creates an unnecessary logjam with Corujo, Walkes, Sobocinski, and Makoun. Makoun has been underwhelming in my opinion and I’d like to see him permanently moved but I’d be okay with a loan as well. Franco is another guy that I haven’t been impressed with. I’d be okay with his loan ending early. I’d like a LB and a creative #10 in the summer transfer window. I’d also hold one spot open for a bigger name should someone like Malik Tillman (USMNT/Bayern Munich), Christian Benteke (Crystal Palace), Gareth Bale (Real Madrid), etc. become available.
  11. Agreed, there definitely needs to be an offload. I think they are giving Ortiz every opportunity to prove his value and there’s no chance that I’d offload Alcivar. However, I wouldn’t necessarily be upset to see Alan Franco’s loan end. Mora, Makoun and Franco are guys that I’m okay with moving on. The jury is still out on Reyna.
  12. Updated Playoff Stats Josh Leivo - 10 goals, 9 assists Jack Drury - 7 goals, 9 assists Stefan Noesen - 7 goals, 8 assists Andrew Poturalski - 4 goals, 9 assists David Gust - 3 goals, 7 assists C.J. Smith - 3 goals, 5 assists Joey Keane - 7 assists Max Lajoie - 3 goals, 3 assists Richard Panik - 2 goals, 4 assists Jalen Chatfield - 1 goal, 5 assists Jamieson Rees - 2 goals, 3 assists Vasili Ponomarev - 1 goal, 4 assists Cavan Fitzgerald - 1 goal, 4 assists Stelio Mattheos - 2 goals, 2 assists Spencer Smallman - 1 goal, 2 assists Jesper Sellgren - 3 assists Ivan Lodnia - 2 goals Noel Gunler - 1 goal, 1 assist Josh Jacobs - 1 goal, 1 assist Alex Lyon - 8 wins, 2 losses, 1.96 GAA, .924 SV% Pyotr Kochetkov - 1 win, 1 loss, 2.86 GAA, .918 SV%
  13. The Wolves absolutely live in the penalty box.
  14. Fug the Rags. Tamp vs. Colorado in the finals.
  15. Wolves get a nice shorty… Chatfield to Drury to Smallman.
  16. Walkes was great, not sure why Makoun was playing over him.
  17. Also, it was a breath of fresh air seeing Afful and Walkes get meaningful minutes today. They both were superb.
  18. I’m not sure if that was our best performance because the finishing was lacking at times but it was definitely up there and it was one of our more exciting performances. Once thing I like about Lattanzio’s formation is that it’s really a 4-1-4-1 with a true CDM (Bronico) and wingers that track back. Both Gaines and Shinyashiki tracked further back defensively then they have all year and when there was a change in position we were able to get both of them out in space and let them use their speed. It was fun to watch.
  19. Hopefully the Wolves close it out tonight, updating the playoff stats below… Drury is still on a tear. Updated Playoff Stats Josh Leivo - 10 goals, 8 assists Jack Drury - 7 goals, 8 assists Stefan Noesen - 7 goals, 8 assists Andrew Poturalski - 4 goals, 8 assists David Gust - 3 goals, 7 assists C.J. Smith - 3 goals, 5 assists Joey Keane - 7 assists Max Lajoie - 3 goals, 3 assists Jamieson Rees - 2 goals, 3 assists Jalen Chatfield - 1 goal, 4 assists Vasili Ponomarev - 1 goal, 4 assists Cavan Fitzgerald - 1 goal, 4 assists Richard Panik - 1 goal, 4 assists Stelio Mattheos - 2 goals, 2 assists Jesper Sellgren - 3 assists Ivan Lodnia - 2 goals Noel Gunler - 1 goal, 1 assist Josh Jacobs - 1 goal, 1 assist Spencer Smallman - 2 assists Alex Lyon - 8 wins, 1 loss, 1.90 GAA, .925 SV% Pyotr Kochetkov - 1 win, 1 loss, 2.86 GAA, .918 SV%
  20. Great win by Lattanzio and Charlotte FC. 2-0 win over Red Bull New York, goals by Bender and Jones.
  21. Lattanzio certainly has the boys playing well. Charlotte FC up 1-0. Starting XI GK - Kahlina RB - Afful RCB - Corujo LCB - Walkes LB - Mora CDM - Bronico LCM - Bender RCM - Ortiz LW - Shinyashiki ST - Rios RW - Gaines Subs: Marks, Lindsey, Sobocinski, Santos, Jones, Alcivar, Ruiz, Vargas, Reyna
  22. Also agree, and so do a lot of NBA pundits. If Atkinson was going to be the hire then stick with the guy you already have who is also known to be a player developer and ask him to overhaul some of his assistants to bring in a defensive minded assistant coach like Kidd did with Sweeney. Atkinson’s strengths and weaknesses look nearly identical to that of Borrego’s. From Nets Fan’s… Atkinson is a culture builder and describes his style of coaching similar to that of a college program. He’s good at player development but struggles as an in-game coach and his rotations are poor.
  23. The Nets went through more poo than any other team in the league this year so I wouldn’t necessarily say that’s a good comparison. It’ll be more telling what Nash does this year. With that said, hopefully Atkinson learned to get a long with star players in his time with Los Angeles and Golden State. If not then you’ll see guys who are free spirited players like Ball and Bridges leave. They don’t need an overhaul in the way that they play. They need someone to guide them on playing a two way game. If Atkinson tries to tear this whole thing down and rebuild it from scratch then we’ll be in a worse situation than we were with Borrego.
  24. It’s not just an Irving and Durant thing, all superstars have a sense of entitlement to them. If you can’t work with them then you won’t be successful… that’s really all there is to it. Look at this years finals… Tatum and company couldn’t work with Steven’s so they moved him to an executive position. Coached have to stop treating adults like children, it doesn’t work in the NBA.
