No idea what our payroll is but I agree, I know it’s the nature of soccer that the guys that make all the money get all the field time but they are also divas and Karol’s on-field antics suggest he has that same mentality. I want to see more of our young players who actually look threatening. Additionally I don’t know how much longer we can go without a number 10… after seeing Bernardeschi destroy us yesterday, I have no idea why we weren’t in on him… after all, Toronto got him in a free transfer so all they are paying is his wages.

I mean that’s exactly what I said but you have to give up assets to do that, no one is going to take 25% for free, and if you go up to 50% then you are going to be giving up big time assets. The Canes aren’t going to give up Drury or Morrow for Kane. He’s a UFA after this year and the Canes can easily fit him in if the Hawks retain 50% as long as someone like Necas and Gardiner (50% retained) is going back the other way. There’s no need to give up picks and prospects to a third party for a player whose cap hit comes off the books at the end of the season.

The max retainment a team can do is 50%, the Canes would need to find a third team to eat the additional 25% but obviously they’d have to give assets to do so which is why I don’t think that’s likely. Kane at 50% for an extended Necas and Gardiner at 50% should get it done. At the end of the day Kane is a free agent next year and is much older than Tkachuk so he shouldn’t pull nearly as much as extend Tkachuk got.

Realistically, Charlotte would need to get around 22 more points to have a chance at the playoffs. So over the last 12 games they’d need to go 8-4 or 7-3-1, after tonight, it’s highly unlikely.

There’s a relatively new Twitter account out there that has been calling all of the Canes moves before they happen, that account stated that they weren’t at liberty to discuss what our offer was but that individual did state that they are glad that we didn’t try to outbid Florida.

I’m just not about using five or six different formations as it’s an indicator that you are adapting to your opponent rather than forcing your opponent to adapt to you. Pick an attacking formation and defensive formation and perfect them. Charlotte deploys all these different formations trying to combat certain tactics or personnel (tonight it’s the two Italians) that their opponent is employing and it never works.

Lattanzio fuged the team from the start with this lineup. Tired of that poo, it lost them the Miami game and now we are getting shallacked by Toronto.

So Jozwiak is in the center, at times it looks like a 3-4-3 and others it looks like a 4-2-3-1. Odd formation.

It’s a little concerning since Miami blitzed us when we used a similar formation, though Makoun was in instead of Corujo… but yeah I’m thinking it’s a 5-2-3 with a back 3, 2 wing backs, 2 CM’s, and 3 forwards. I guess theoretically you could call it a 3-4-3 but it’s obviously not the common 3-5-2 because we have 3 forwards in Shinyashiki, Swiderski, and Reyna. Super odd formation.

In Toronto tonight, Charlotte FC needs to build off of a great performance against Chelsea on Wednesday. Regardless of the opinions of Waddell, rumors are that Tkachuk was headed to Carolina before Florida stepped in at the last minute… the deal had even progressed to Tkachuk indicating that he’d be willing to go to Carolina. However, Florida stepped in at the last minute. I for one am glad that we didn’t try to go toe to toe with the package that Florida sent to Calgary. There are other options out there like Tarasenko and Kane which will be less expensive.

If Huberdeau signs an extension in Calgary and it’s comparable to Tkachuk’s new contract in Florida then Florida got absolutely fleeced. Huberdeau is arguably a better player than Tkachuk and Weegar is a very good top four defenseman and is a fringe top paring defenseman. I’m not familiar with Schwindt but he looks to have bottom six capability. Not to mention Calgary got a first round pick out of the deal as well.
