PJ Walker vs Malik Willis

On a different note… things could come full circle… Malik Willis played on Cam’s 7v7 team, went to Auburn, transferred to Liberty and played for Hugh Freeze and now has a chance to be selected by the Panthers and play for Matt Rhule… Charlie Brewer was recruited by Matt Rhule and went to Baylor, after Rhule left, Brewer transferred to Utah before ultimately transferring again to… Hugh Freeze and Liberty (where he’s expected to start this year). And who did Matt Rhule lose to in his first game as head coach of Baylor… Liberty (Turner Gill was the head coach at the time). -
PJ Walker vs Malik Willis

If we’re just going to look at stats then why not at least be honest about it. Willis played in multiple games where the ball was taken out of hands due to the score or he simply didn’t play in the latter stages of the game. Hell, against UAB (who has a few NFL prospects on their roster) he was 13-19 for 287 yards and 1 TD and ran for an additional 144 yards and 2 TD’s… in three quarters… he didn’t play the fourth. And speaking of rushing, let’s not forget his 878 rushing yards and 13 TD’s…. compared to Walker’s… *check notes* -100 rushing yards and 1 TD. If Hugh Freeze wanted to, he could have had Willis put up 4000 yards passing, 38 TD’s, 1000 yards rushing, and 20 TD’s… but the bottom line is that there were eight games where Willis sat due to the score or due to an injury. -
They need to dedicate a practice to just rebounding… it cost us the game against the Nuggets and it’s poo tonight.
-
IT does not have it tonight.
-
Miles keeping us in it.

Huge win, we probably need to win at the very least four of our last seven and possibly five out our last seven in order to hold on to 8th. The Nets only play two more teams that are in front of them in the standings (Bucks and Cavs) and both of those games are at home.

Cody Martin with a couple of stunners out of nowhere .

Here’s Melo’s chance to put the team on his back and will them to a win.
-
Don’t know if it’s in the cards for us tonight, we needed to be perfect and we aren’t.
-
Hornets hanging tough early, LaMelo might be having one of those games tonight… he has nearly half of our points

2022 Charlotte FC Game Thread

Next weekend is a true test of where we are… On the road at Philadelphia against a team who for my money has been the best MLS team over the past two years. Getting a result from this game would go a long way in proving that we belong. If we can keep Swiderski, Bender, and Kahlina here long term then we’ll have a foundation as good as any team… Just a few stats… Swiderski - tied for the league lead in goals (4), second in goals outside the 18 (2), first in shots on target (10) Bender - tied for the league lead in assists (3) Kahlina - second in accurate long balls (44), first in saves (21), second in clearances (6) -
Edmunds at SS, Woods at FS, and Chinn at LB… that’s what it should be.

Missed the game today but my word, Karol is a damn superstar. Charlotte is on their way up, now 8th in the table. -

So we’re a half game out of 8th… Hornets remaining schedule - @ BKN - This needs to be a win to have any shot at 8th (39-36) vs. DEN - The Nuggets are sinking a little bit but I don’t think we can handle Jokic (39-37) @ NYK - We owe them one, this needs to be a win (40-37) @ PHI - Embiid probably cooks us… (40-38) @ MIA - Miami isn’t playing great but they probably beat us at home (40-39) vs. ORL - Has to be a win (41-39) @ CHI - Chicago is playing the worst out of all the potential playoff teams right now, we need to steal this game (42-39) vs. WSH - Has to be a win (43-39) Doing the same thing with Brookyln @ Miami (38-36) vs. CHA (38-37) vs. DET (39-37) vs. MIL (39-38) @ ATL (40-38) vs. HOU (41-38) @ NYK (42-38) vs. CLE (42-39) vs. IND (43-39) In this scenario, the Hornets would have the tiebreaker over the Nets and would get the 8th seed meaning they’d have two opportunities to advance to the playoffs. -
Gave away the NY game and stole this game… the game against Brooklyn on Sunday could be for 8th.

I’m gonna say something controversial… Over the past week or so this team looks like the old Bill Peters teams. Step 1 - Get poo play from your goaltender Step 2 - Shoot a bunch of pucks right at the opposing goalies chest Step 3 - Let some no name goalie go beast mode on any good chances you do have Step 4 - Outshoot your opponent by a lot Step 5 - Lose in OT or a SO

What is their idea of a young player? Chubba Hubbard, Terrace Marshall? I mean… we don’t particularly need anymore cap room this year so if we have to give away decent players to get rid of him then you might as well just let him finish out his 5th year.

You might want to post this on the clubs Reddit page too. Not sure how many people have gone to a game that post on here. -
I used to believe this but I don’t anymore. Matt Ryan’s accuracy was abysmal, Drew Brees’ was below average, Tom Brady’s was below average… then you look at at guy like Baker Mayfield who had elite college accuracy and now he struggles.

Loved his interview, I think he’ll will himself to being a good QB. Just seems to have that inside him.
