NSJ is what Bouknight was supposed to be, an iso guy that can get you a bucket. I don’t like Nick Smith bringing the ball up the floor or running the offense but I do like him as a combo guard that you can toss the ball to and tell him to go get you a bucket. He kind of reminds me of Cam Thomas.

I’ve liked Miller’s playmaking skills in this game as well. He has a good understanding of when to push it himself or when to find a teammate. He makes good decisions with the basketball even when the game is moving at a fast pace.

Don’t even care if we win tonight, I just want to see someone put up 15+ points while shooting 45% or better from the field along with knocking down a couple threes. It could be the water boy for all I care, I just want to see someone have a good game.

I’m in the minority but I like this move. You pay $800K for a guy to sit in the press box and protect your star players when need be. It also gives the other team something to think about knowing the Canes now have a goon.

Lol Wemby is going to be fine. 27 points, 12 boards (4 offensive), 3 blocks, and a steal… shot over 50% from the floor and 50% from three. Only place he struggled from was the free throw line.

Wonder if everything is waiting on Tank. If we signed Tank we’d have no cap space left until a defenseman is moved. No reason to rush a Pesce trade when you can do it at anytime, and the same thing can be said for a TDA trade, it can be done at any time. Hopefully with Ottawa trading Cat, it speeds up the Tank process. Now the Canes and Sens can give their final offers.

One thing the broadcast pointed out was that Steph and I believe they said KD, both struggled in their first taste of summer league action. It’s difficult because us humans are impatient creatures but in reality nothing that anyone does this week will have any bearing on where they are five years from now. I certainly wish Miller was dropping 20 point games on 50% shooting but he’s not a finished product.

He’s also played four games to Wemby’s one and he hasn’t looked anything but average to below average. I’m one of the few that wanted Miller but some of the concerns I had about him are already rearing their head.

Our staff would have ruined Wemby. Now they’ll get to ruin Brandon Miller instead.

We don’t place enough emphasis on basketball IQ. Stop drafting athletes and start drafting intelligent basketball players.
