Canes will pass the Rangers in the next five games. I’ll go a step further… we play the Bruins twice and Leafs once before the end of the season, we win those three and we’ll be the number one overall seed in the eastern conference. I think we’ll get the results we want against the teams we should beat. But if we beat the Leafs once and Bruins twice, I think those three wins will propel us to first in the conference, second at the worst behind Florida.

Scorlov is here, finally. Took until the new year but this is the guy the Canes signed. And to see him doing it with Kuznetsov in tow is a sight to behold.

Half surprised to not see the committee put Kentucky, Kansas, and Wisconsin in UNC’s region. Those three teams have been fairly common opponents for the Heels in the tourney. They did sneak Michigan State in there though.

At first glance, the East Region is tough. The top four seeds in that region are playing their best basketball right now. As for UNC, I think their region sets up nicely for a showdown with Arizona but there’s a lot of unpredictability about who UNC and Zona will face to get there. Strong potential for some upsets in that region.

They sure gave Arizona what appears to be an easy path to the sweet 16. Carolina will have a tougher time with Michigan State or Mississippi State but I think the bracket sets up nicely for a UNC/Zona matchup.
